Wake up slowly, in the quiet of the beautiful Piney Woods of Southeast Texas. Pour a cup of coffee from the Keurig, (we provide a few pods to get you started) and step outside and breathe the fresh country air. Inside you’ll find a cozy comfortable space design for rest and simplicity. Take a warm shower, wrap up in a soft towel and ease yourself into a peaceful day at your own pace. As the day went down, settle into a chair and listen to the birds one more time before evening falls, After dark, you can catch the glow of fire fire flies during their season. Gather around the fire pit (we do provide all the wood you need) and enjoy the crackle of real wood fire which you can barbecue on. We live nearby and are always happy to help if you need anything. The barndo was so cute and clean. It was perfect for our little staycation. The location was perfect. It felt like we were in the country, surrounded by nature, but yet we were just minutes from town. It was so peaceful and quiet. The host's dogs were so sweet. The host left a sweet welcoming note and the fresh eggs, butter, and a can of biscuits left for us in the fridge was such a thoughtful gesture. I definitely recommend this place whether you are visiting Silsbee or nearby area or just need a nice little staycation.

About the host
Hosted by Lisa
Originally from California, we now called the beautiful Piney Woods of Southeast Texas home. I love being surrounded by nature, the tall Pines, the peaceful, quiet, and especially the joy of birdwatching right outside my door. One of my favorite things about hosting is giving others the opportunity to slow down and experience is peaceful setting for themselves. Life here is simple, calm, and incredibly relaxing, and I truly enjoy sharing that with every guest who stays.
Why they chose this property
One of the things we enjoy most about our neighborhood is how unique it is. We are technically inside the city limits of Silsbee, our property sits on a city maintained gravel road. It’s not a fancy manicure subdivision, but once you arrive and pass the trees, everything changes. You’re greeted by beautiful pine trees, peaceful surroundings, and walking trails that make you feel complete immersed in nature. It truly does not feel you were in the town at all. That quiet tucked away feeling is exactly why we chose this place. We love to be close to the Village Creek where guests can enjoy canoeing and kayaking. We are also near the incredible Big Thicket National Preserve and the scenic Roy E Larson, Sandyland sanctuary, both offering beautiful trails for walking and exploring and birdwatching (my favorite). Even closer to home we have our own trails on the property that we love to walk and guests are welcome to enjoy them too. The moment you step onto the land, you feel surrounded by the Pineywoods and the peaceful rhythm of nature.
What makes this property unique
What truly sets our property apart is the feeling of being immersed in nature while still being just minutes from town. Here, you are not just booking a place to sleep – you are stepping into a peaceful Pineywoods experience. Guest can wander our private walking trails beneath tall pines, sit quietly on the porch, listening to bird songs, or simply enjoy the kind of stillness that is hard to find these days. The quiet here is real. Mornings are slow and gentle, and the evening bring the soft Sounds of Nature all around you. Our outdoor space offer something special as well – a true wood fire experience. Build a fire in the fire pit (we provide the wood) cook over open flames if you would like and enjoy an evening under the stars, it’s simple, authentic, and deeply relaxing. Bird lovers, especially appreciate this ecosystem. The Pineywoods attract a wide variety of unique and seasonal birds, making it a wonderful spot for observing wildlife in a natural habitat. If you do choose to Birdwatch, make it down to our fishing hut at sunrise! There’s a lot of chatter going on down there in the morning! This is not a crowded neighborhood stay or a cookie cutter rental. It is a peaceful retreat, where you can walk, listen, breathe deeply, and reconnect with nature.
