Our 120 m² vacation home in the beautiful village of Menkin, on the border between Brandenburg and Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, is entirely at your disposal. Suitable for all weather conditions and seasons. Books for bookworms, DVDs, CDs, and many board games are available. A collection of the GDR/FRG magazine “Das Magazin” offers interesting insights from 1980 to the present. The large garden offers opportunities for games, relaxation, and recreation for young and old alike. A ping-pong table, basketball hoop, hammock, and badminton/volleyball court are available. The house has 3 bedrooms on 2 floors, accommodating 6 (standard) guests; children are always welcome (child-sized toilet seat, high chair and footstool, toys, playground, and a small wading pool are provided). Various extra beds (up to 4 people, for a fee) are available. A bathroom with a shower, bathtub, and toilet on the upper floor and one toilet with a shower on the first floor, a large kitchen-dining area with an extendable table seating up to 8 people, and 2 terraces provide comfort. There is a large flat-screen TV on each floor. There are USB ports by the beds for charging cell phones without a charger. Overnight stays in a tent are also possible. Bicycles, an inflatable boat, 2 SUPs, skis, and sleds are available. You can store and charge your own bicycles or e-bikes. A charging station up to 11 kW for electric cars is also available (for a fee). The popular Menkin swimming lake and three public swimming areas are in the immediate vicinity. In case of bad weather, there are large water parks in Templin, Szczecin, and Gryfino. There are many excursion options to Prenzlau (lake tour, tower climb, city wall tour, boat ride), Templin (thermal baths, Western town, boat ride), Löcknitz (castle tour and lakeside hike), to the Oder Estuary (the seaside resort of Ueckermünde, 45 minutes away), the Feldberg Lake District, or to Poland (Polish market, 15 minutes; Szczecin, 30 minutes), as well as bike tours, offer great opportunities to explore the wonderful, interesting surroundings. In Kleptow, about 15 minutes away, you’ll find Europe’s largest Wapiti farm, which also offers safari tours where you can see bison, red deer, reindeer, and moose. Many vacationers have been thrilled by the experience. The “moose kiss” is legendary.<br>The island of Usedom and the Polish Baltic Sea coast (a 1.5–2-hour drive) are also worth a day trip. We have an information folder on tourist destinations ready for you.<br>Of course, there’s also a well-functioning local infrastructure. Doctors, pharmacies, a savings bank, a bakery, restaurants, and 4 supermarkets within 5 km. The bakery van even stops right outside the door!<br>We care about the environment! Hot water, heating, and electricity are partially powered by solar energy. We sort our trash. A Ninja air fryer, coffee maker, and toaster are provided. The kitchen is fully equipped. <br>Depending on the season, you can enjoy various produce from the garden.
