Living Space

La Mer's open living area is centered around large picture windows that look out over the dunes and ocean beyond, bringing natural light throughout the day. A gas fireplace anchors the space for slow evenings inside—whether you're watching a storm roll in or winding down after time spent on the beach. There's plenty of room for everyone to settle in together.

The kitchen and dining area are designed for cooking, gathering, and lingering over meals. Whether you're making slow breakfasts before everyone wakes up, trying a new recipe you've been meaning to tackle, grilling dinner after a day at the beach, or hosting a holiday meal, the kitchen is ready—and equipped—to handle it.

A large dining table comfortably seats all 10 guests, while the island naturally becomes the place everyone gathers. You'll find a Bosch induction cooktop, double ovens, quality stainless-steel cookware, sharp Misen knives, a Vitamix, plenty of serving pieces, and just about everything else you need to cook the way you would at home, if not better.

You may find yourself watching the waves, spotting a bald eagle overhead, or simply sitting still longer than you planned.

The Spa

Just off the deck, the private outdoor spa includes a custom-built cedar sauna, hot tub, and cold plunge.

Move between heat and cold at your own pace—start your morning with the sauna, take a cold plunge after a walk or run on the Discovery Trail, or unwind in the hot tub in the evening with the sound of the ocean in the background.

The sauna includes a small changing area with an outdoor shower for rinsing off between sessions.

Location

La Mer sits at the end of a quiet residential street where ocean views and the sound of the waves are part of everyday life. Step through the back gate onto the Discovery Trail and you'll reach the beach in just a few minutes. Downtown Long Beach—with restaurants, coffee shops, and the boardwalk—is minutes away by car or bike, while Astoria is about a 30-minute drive south.

About Your Hosts

La Mer is a Come Stay property, personally hosted by us, Cooper and Jason.

We put care into the details: the ones you notice immediately and the ones that reveal themselves over time. We spend meaningful time in the house ourselves, continually refining the experience to create a deeper sense of calm, connection, and ease.

Guest Access

La Mer guests have access to the entire home, outdoor spa, and fully fenced backyard.

The spa includes a custom cedar sauna, cold plunge, and hot tub, all for private use during your stay.

Driveway parking is available for multiple vehicles, including access to a Tesla Level 2 charger.

A detailed digital guide is shared before arrival with local recommendations, house information, and everything needed for a smooth stay.

Other Things to Note:
• Located in a quiet residential neighborhood; this is not a party house.
• Maximum occupancy is 10 guests (excluding children under 2).
• Up to 2 well-behaved, house-trained dogs are welcome with advance notice. An additional cleaning fee applies for guests bringing dogs.
• Exterior security cameras monitor the outside of the home for safety purposes.

About the host

Host profile image
We’re Cooper and Jason — partners in life, pickleball, and Come Stay.

Before starting Come Stay, we were burnt out business attorneys who spent the last decade focused on our careers. We finally decided to build something that excited us and felt more aligned with how we wanted to live and spend our time.

Travel has always been a big part of our relationship, but 2020 was a turning point. We adopted our first dog, Winston, and the way we traveled shifted immediately — fewer flights, more road trips. We found ourselves searching for places that felt calm and restorative, well-designed, and, of course, dog-friendly. Places where you could slow down, spend time outside, and reconnect — to nature and to yourself.

That’s what we’ve created with La Mer — and with every Come Stay space.

Why they chose this property

The location of La Mer stood out to us immediately.

Set at the end of a quiet, dead-end street, it feels calm and removed — with ocean views and the sound of waves a constant — yet still only a short drive or bike ride into town, and about 30 minutes to Astoria.

It’s a balance that’s hard to find: nature, quiet, and beauty paired with access to great food, coffee, and beer — plus off-leash adventures nearby. It’s what made us realize this was the one in Long Beach.

With the Discovery Trail just beyond the house, it’s easy to step out for a walk at any time. And sometimes, that’s exactly what we need — easy.

We spend our time here with slow mornings, long walks with the dogs, and evenings watching the sun set into the ocean — or a storm roll in.

What makes this property unique

La Mer was designed for how we like to travel — and how we want to feel when we do.

The outdoor spa is a central part of the experience — a place to settle into a slower rhythm. Mornings might start with the dry heat of the sauna or a cold plunge after a run on the Discovery Trail, and evenings might end in the hot tub under the stars.

Just as important is how La Mer sits in its surroundings. It feels open to the landscape, with the ocean always present, yet tucked away enough to feel quiet and private.

Inside, we’ve focused on the details so La Mer feels as comfortable and well-equipped as your own home — if not more so. And for those traveling with dogs, the fenced yard, nearby beach access, and space to run were part of the plan from the beginning.
