We had a great stay at this VRBO. The rooms were clean, and the unit was well-stocked with everything we needed. The towels were fresh and clean, and the kitchen appliances were spotless and ready to use, making meal preparation easy.The unit had plenty of lighting throughout, although the second bathroom shower was quite dark once the shower curtain was closed because there wasn't a light inside the shower area.We also appreciated the thoughtful extras, including a selection of board games and Blu-rays/DVDs for family time indoors. The house binder with instructions and helpful information was well organized and made it easy to find answers to any questions we had.The complex was quiet and peaceful, making it a relaxing place to stay. Josh was an excellent host—he provided detailed instructions before our arrival, and he was very responsive whenever we had questions. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would gladly recommend this property to others.

We fell in love with the peace and incredible access of the Kingsbury area and spent a lot of time turning this cabin into a modern mountain escape. Whether we’re skiing in the winter or taking our son and our dog out on the Tahoe Rim Trail in the summer, we’re always finding new reasons to love this place. We’re excited to share our favorite local spots and help you have a perfect Tahoe getaway!

Why they chose this property

We chose the top of Kingsbury Grade for one reason: unbeatable access. While most visitors are stuck in lake-level traffic, we are already on the trails or the lifts.

The scene here is pure alpine—towering pines, massive granite boulders, and a quiet that you only get at high elevation. What we enjoy most is the 'park and play' lifestyle. In the winter, you’re minutes from the Stagecoach and Boulder lodges at Heavenly. In the summer, the world-renowned Tahoe Rim Trail is practically our backyard. It’s the perfect home base for anyone who wants to spend more time outdoors and less time in the car.

What makes this property unique

Sitting near 7,500 feet at the top of Kingsbury Grade offers a completely different experience than staying at lake level:

Cooler Summers: When the rest of the basin is sweltering in July, you’ll enjoy the crisp, high-altitude breezes.

The Silence: You are tucked away from the traffic noise of Hwy 50, surrounded by massive granite boulders and ancient pines.

Trailhead Proximity: You can walk or bike to the Tahoe Rim Trail in minutes, giving you world-class views of the entire lake without ever having to find a parking spot.
