About the host
Hosted by Caroline Rodriguez
My family has made Los Angeles County our home for 4 plus generations. Hospitality is in our families DNA, we enjoy sharing our family properties with traveller seeking a slice our lil California town of Agua Dulce, where the PCT runs through and the best Sunsets are captured.
Why they chose this property
Nestled in our beloved Casa Escondido, you forget you're only 30 miles from the hustle and bustle of the big city of Los Angeles. There are endless rolling hills and mountains, white ranch fences, amazing skies day or night, and high desert nature all around. The predominant sounds are the wind, and animals, it's quite peaceful here. Come visit and experience for yourself.
What makes this property unique
The exterior is very California Ranch style, beautifully landscaped, with colorful cacti and bougainvillea, miniature fruit trees, and the sound of our calming water fountain upon entering the home. At your first steps into the house, you can't help but catch the wall to wall windows showing off the view of the day, the tall chalet ceilings and wood beams give the interior a warm welcome. The limited wall space interest visitors with an assortment of art, continental styles of decor, a hall of masks, an ambience reminiscent of my world travels.
In the winter, our gorgeous fireplace will illuminate and heat up the grand room while you enjoy a game of pool or watch the big 80in TV. The open concept keeps the cook of your group, engaged. The massive centerisland bar hosts stools for any cooking spectators to enjoy the sunset View and live orchid collection and tile art. If the outdoors is what you prefer, the Veranda is another equally inviting space with plenty of comfortable seating, even a dining table to have meals or play board games or cards outside. The Endless Swimming pool is perfect size, it's shallow and comfortable height to wade or exercise using the remote controlled machine that provides current to swim in place. It's a work out. On the other end of the Veranda off the kitchen is a BBQ and outdoor burners , should you want to cook outside, it overlooks a garden that's 20 years in the making , with a variety of of cactus and flowering plants and roses that attract birds, bees and butterflies. We keep bird feeders filled giving you plenty of time to see a variety of local birds, from doves, finch, pheasants, bluejays, and more. We also are home to Barn Owls. Their housing is far enough away that you will not disturb them, yet close enough to see them out hunting at dusk . Binoculars are inside above the Games cabinet . And if you want to see a little more of Agua Dulce, we have our own National Park, Vasquez Rocks, 2 mi away.
