Our renovated house offers 120 square metres of living space, including a cosy living room with a wood-burning stove and a large dining room with a comfortable recamier. The hallway leads to the fully equipped new kitchen-dining area with a cosy seating area. The kitchen is equipped with a dishwasher, microwave, oven, glass-ceramic cooktop, refrigerator, freezer, coffee maker, toaster, and electric kettle. The ground floor also features an accessible shower room with a washing machine. A small flight of stairs leads to the upper floor, which features rustic hardwood floors and three bedrooms. Two of them have a double bed, and one is furnished with two single beds. The second bathroom on the upper floor is equipped with a bathtub and a shower.<br>On the secluded terrace, you can enjoy the evening with a glass of wine or beer as you soak up the last rays of sunshine. There is a private parking space next to the house for your car. Three additional public parking spaces are located just 50 m from the house. The house is situated at the end of a narrow street in a quiet cul-de-sac.<br>Within 500 m walking distance from the house, you’ll find a supermarket, several bakeries, and the romantic cobblestone-paved Old Town. Just a few steps further is the small, idyllic fishing harbour with its picturesque fishing boats. Here you’ll find an excellent ice cream shop, as well as a few small souvenir shops and cafés, and several famous and highly rated seafood restaurants.<br><br>NEW! A deposit of €250 is required for this.<br><br>The fishing village of Ditzum was founded in the 8th century as a longhouse village and has retained the character of a picturesque sluice and fishing village. The centrepiece of Ditzum is the still-functional sluice structure—now unique in East Frisia—with its harbour opening in a funnel shape towards the Ems River. The sluice structure and harbour define the entire townscape. On May 5, 1995, Ditzum became the first village in the entire Leer district to be awarded the designation “state-recognized resort.” (Municipality of Jemgum)<br><br>Due to its remote location in the northwesternmost corner of the Rheiderland, it is also known as “Endje van de Welt” (End of the World). Its sluice harbour, with a history stretching back centuries and one of the last functioning sluices, is unique in East Frisia. The historical connection between the mound settlement, the windmill, the Romanesque church, and the lighthouse-shaped church tower (1846), as well as the harbour and the inland drainage system via the Sieltief with its “Hühnerbrücke,” is still evident today and remains significant. This sets the town apart from similarly structured mound settlements in the Lower Ems region, which have often lost their original function as sluice harbours due to the relocation of dikes.
