Guests like to spend their best time of the year, their holidays or a little time out in our sunny, quietly situated holiday home. We cordially invite you to do the same. The quiet location in the second row on our residential property, in our large garden, optimises the relaxation effect. Nevertheless, you do not have to miss the amenities of the village, because the holiday home is quietly located and yet close to the centre, only about 500 m to the supermarket, pizzeria, flower shop, doctor, pharmacy, bank, hairdresser, cosmetics, physiotherapy, boutique and public transport stop. The bakery with adjoining café is almost opposite, it also offers fresh bread rolls and cakes on Sundays, you can also enjoy breakfast in the café, and there is also a restaurant just a few steps into the village.
A special holiday destination for every visitor to the Harz Mountains is a hike up the Brocken, where the witches and the devil dance on Walpurgis Night. If you are a good walker, you can make it up on foot from Benneckenstein. A more comfortable and nostalgic way is to take the Harzquerbahn and Brockenbahn - in summer even without changing trains, directly from Benneckenstein on the historic steam railway.
The spacious, bright one-room flat offers a feel-good atmosphere on 40 square metres on the ground floor. A cosy seating area in the living area invites you to relax, where you will also find a satellite TV with DVD and CD player. The "Anna" flat is particularly popular with guests because it is only a few steps to the garden and in winter you can spend cosy evenings in front of the wood-burning stove. The extensive information material about the Harz Mountains will make it easier for you to plan your excursions and board games, books, DVDs and CDs will keep you entertained on long winter evenings or a rainy day. The living area is adjoined by the sleeping area with double bed (180 x 200). There is plenty of storage space for your holiday wardrobe and chest of drawers. On the other side of the living area you will find the open-plan kitchen with dining table and 4 chairs, kitchenette with ceramic hob (2 plates), fridge with freezer compartment, coffee machine, toaster, kettle and microwave. The kitchenette naturally also contains sufficient crockery, glasses, cutlery, pots and pans.the flat has a shower room with daylight window, shower, toilet and washbasin, which is accessible from the small hallway.the flat is lockable directly in the entrance area and of course has central heating in addition to the wood-burning stove.
You can park your car in front of the holiday home in the courtyard area (or in front of the property in the public area).behind and next to the holiday home is our large idyllic garden with various inviting seating areas, pavilion, garden pond, Hollywood swing and small wood. A charcoal barbecue and garden furniture are at your disposal and invite you to enjoy peace, sun and nature and to relax. The garden is available to all guests, but is also used by us, but thanks to the various, partly secluded seating "corners", everyone can find their own individual spot.
You will enjoy the cosy, special warmth in front of the fireplace, especially on long winter evenings, because it conveys a feeling of security, and since there is another holiday flat in the attic, the house is particularly suitable for holidays with friends, parents or grandparents, everyone has their own little lockable "kingdom" and yet the possibility of togetherness at breakfast, on a sociable evening, in the garden or at a barbecue.
Our beautiful little town of Benneckenstein, now part of the "town of Oberharz am Brocken", is located in the centre of the Harz in the border triangle with Thuringia and Lower Saxony and is therefore the ideal starting point for all excursions in the Harz and the Harz foreland, whether to the north, south, west or east. The beauty of the Harz awaits you in all directions, be it the beautiful half-timbered towns or the unspoilt nature of the Harz National Park, which is struggling with climate change and yet is an outstanding example of nature in transition. Hikes or mountain bike excursions bring you closer to nature. Excursions by car, motorbike or public transport open up the whole of the Harz Mountains in all their diversity, and you can get to know the world underground in stalactite caves, show mines and mining museums, and experience a journey into history in monasteries, castles, imperial palaces, cathedrals (with cathedral treasures), churches / stave churches, castles and castle ruins. You can soar over the Harz Mountains at dizzying heights in cable cars or venture across the suspension bridge at the Rappbode Dam, move through the realm of squirrels on treetop trails and climbing parks, take the nostalgic Harz narrow-gauge railway up to the Brocken (1142 m above sea level) and marvel at the unspoilt nature in the Brocken Garden. You should also take advantage of the adventure and thermal baths in the area to relax. Of course, we have only put together a small selection of the highlights of your Harz holiday and hope that you will explore these and many more from our holiday flat, spend a wonderfully relaxing holiday with us and come back next year because you haven't seen everything yet or treat yourself to another break.
