Margaret is an excellent host. We arrived after 2am due to flight delays and easily accessed the house. This property was centrally located to everywhere we needed to be and the location is very quiet. We look forward to staying again next time we’re in town.

OVERALL: Served us well as a base camp for a 5-night summer vacation. An old home that has been expanded and refreshed over the years.PROS: The interior was as advertised, clean, decorated, and matched the photos. Plenty of space for one or two couples, with various seating and storage options including closets and dresser drawers. Kitchen, appliances, and dishes were all fine. The master suite queen mattress was new and medium firmness, bedside stands with lamps. Nice walk-in shower with dual sprayers for two. Wifi worked fine. Didn’t use the TVs. On rare sunny mornings we really enjoyed the elevated patio off the dining room and the southeast view overlooking the community. Outdoor furniture was clean. Multiple fans provided to move air inside.CONS: Guests are expected to park in the alley (the front curb is posted no parking). Using the alley to enter requires use of a narrow interior stairway up to the main living area, and some might find it difficult to negotiate these stairs. The lack of A/C meant having to open windows and use fans to cool the interior during above-average summer afternoon/evening temperatures. When we had windows open the night sounds of the city (e.g., trucks beeping) drifted in. There are pleasant walkable streets nearby and we felt reasonably safe but many of the homes closest to this VRBO are either vacant and/or run-down, so we kept most shades shut, except for the elevated dining room/patio side.
