This holiday home, which was completely gutted and renovated from 2012 through the end of 2015, features the “Auwald” holiday apartment on the ground floor—which is over 100 square metres in size, wheelchair-accessible, and child-friendly— and on the upper floor, the “Talaue” holiday apartment. Both have separate entrances but can also be connected inside the house.
From both apartments, you have a magnificent view of the Eifel National Park or the Obermaubach Reservoir, with a panoramic vista stretching almost all the way to Düsseldorf.
The Eifel National Park has also been designated an International Dark Sky Park—a light-pollution-free zone where the stars are particularly visible. (more under “Further Details”)
Add to that the view from the KRAWUTSCHKE Tower on Burgberg, about 250 metres away, where on clear days you can see the Siebengebirge, Cologne with its cathedral, or even as far as the Nürburgring.
There are also plenty of activities to enjoy within an hour’s drive or that are easily accessible.
The 2,500-square-meter property features a cosy seating area with a grill, offering a magnificent view of the surrounding landscape. The large fire pit can also be used for a campfire. The lovingly renovated holiday apartments are fully equipped, flooded with natural light, and very spacious. As mentioned earlier, both have a separate entrance. Each apartment has 2 bedrooms.
The larger bedroom has a double bed, and the smaller bedroom has 2 single beds. One of the single beds, however, is a pull-out bed (standard size) that can accommodate a third person.
The spacious and fully equipped kitchens—stocked with spices, oils, etc.—include, among other things, a dishwasher, oven, refrigerator with freezer compartment, glass-ceramic stove, Senseo/coffee maker, and microwave.
The bathrooms feature a double sink and walk-in rain showers.
The light-filled living and dining areas, with their large panoramic windows and adjoining terrace/balcony, offer a beautiful distant view of the Eifel hills.
The large, pull-out living room couches provide additional sleeping accommodation for 2 people. The living rooms are equipped with a flat-screen TV and DVD player, as well as a selection of films.
Included in the rental price are towels and bed linens, as well as utility costs for electricity, water, heating, and Wi-Fi.
Also included in the rental price is the overnight tax levied by the municipality of Hürtgenwald, which is up to 2€ per guest per night.
