Do you love something special, something out of the ordinary, for your relaxing holiday on Lake Constance? We offer a charming, very unique holiday studio in our half-timbered house dating back to 1706—featuring a romantic courtyard seating area and a spacious garden, and located just a short bike ride from the lake (2 minutes by bike).

The “Romantica” holiday studio is stylishly decorated and was created between 2019 and 2022 as part of the “Living in a Historic Landmark” initiative during the complete renovation of the historic landmark “Hoher Hirschen,” a former 18th-century bailiwick. The studio, consisting of a bedroom, a kitchenette, and a bathroom with a separate toilet, measures approximately 25 square metres in total. It features a bedroom with two new, comfortable beds that can be pushed together, a small sitting area in this room, and a kitchenette that we’ve furnished in the style of the 1950s. The bathroom, designed with black tiles and an Art Deco-style sink, is wonderfully spacious. Various small antiques in the studio "Romantica" gently evoke the living styles of bygone eras; the rooms of the half-timbered “Hoher Hirschen” building—renovated entirely with natural building materials—also contribute to a healthy living environment and convey a sense of comfort and a particularly pleasant atmosphere of well-being. Warm colours and a healthy living environment thanks to natural building materials await you—but no dishwasher and no mind-numbing TV, which are unnecessary in this place of impressions and natural beauty.

The courtyard seating area, built near the former stables and the old shed, with its massive sandstone slabs and 18th-century cobblestones, as well as the beautiful, large natural garden with native plantings, lovingly invite you to relax and linger outside the building.

The “Hohe Hirschen” is situated in a quiet, sun-drenched location on a cul-de-sac in the former historic village centre of the lakeside community of Bodman-Ludwigshafen.

The location offers an ideal starting point for varied explorations around Lake Überlingen, the northwestern, still very natural basin of Lake Constance. The lake and the numerous hiking trails are just a few minutes away.
