Originally from Memphis, we bought this home during our daughter's Junior year at Ole Miss, and lived there full-time through the early COVID era. While we are in TN, our daughter and son-in-law are just done the road to accommodate and remedy any issues. While we've managed many long-term rentals over the years, this is our first foray into short-term. Most of the houses in this neighborhood are either weekend getaways or VRBOs--great energy on game weekends.

Why they chose this property

This is a gated community full of New Orleans-style patio homes. While each house is a little unique, walking around the neighborhood feels like walking in another place! The HOA recently completed roofing and painting updates--very fresh looking neighborhood. The pool area is fantastic! We are also walkable to a few restaurants (First Watch, Phillips Grocery, Marcos Pizza, BBQ) if you don't feel like walking to or parking on the square.

What makes this property unique

We have TVs in every room so you won't miss a minute of any games. We also have dozens of board games and card games to enjoy. We spend some time there ourselves so the kitchen is fully stocked with appliances, accessories, etc., and you are welcome to anything in the pantry (spices, paper goods, etc.), the fridge (a few non-perishable things like condiments, water, etc.) Also, the shuttle during football and baseball is a truly wonderful perk. They publish the schedule (which will be provided to you prior to arrival), but essentially it runs about 12-14 hours a day, drops off across from Gertrude Ford Center. We walk to the Square! It's just under a mile and on good weather days it's a wonderful walk. Campus is also an easy walk, the location is great. We are right across HWY 6 from Rowan Oak, also easy walk or very quick drive. Plenty of guest parking areas if you bring more than 2 cars or simply don't want to use the garage.
