M&M Dune Cottage is a vintage, 1930's Sheridan Beach original. So, if you're looking for a place with character and can live with all of the rough edges that come with staying in a 80+ year old cottage built on sand, we're the perfect choice for your fun in the sun!

Simply, walk out your front door to step onto the sand path. It leads to the world's most beautiful beach - Sheridan Beach!

Important Note:
Like all area cottages, M&M Dune Cottage is separated from the lake by a naturally created, government protected dune. The pathways over the dune are marked & continually managed to keep their heights as low as possible. Last season, there were ‘easy walk’ board-walk mats placed out on two of the three beach paths adjacent to the cottage. There's a flat boardwalk in Washington Park.

Please remember to read all beach cautions (especially about riptides) and supervise children. Thank you!

FOR ADDED COVID SAFETY:
• We’ve extended the work hours of our 5 Star Housekeeping team to provide the additional time necessary to perform enhanced cleaning procedures.
• We use ‘Hospital Grade’ disinfectant solutions.
• The newer dishwasher has a Steam Cycle for better sanitization.
• You’ll receive a large quantity of ‘Hospital Grade’ disinfectant wipes your use on hard surfaces at the cottage.
• Also provided are compact hand sanitizers to take with you to the beach, zoo or anywhere else your vacation takes you.
• Brand new rolls of paper towels, toilet tissue and kitchen sponges are provided for each stay.
• The interior has been tested for mold - no issues.
• In addition to the full complement of freshly laundered linens and towels, all mattresses and bed pillows have allergy liners.

Great spot for my family.

My family has a long history at Michigan City and the Fourth of July week is a common time for family reunion events. My biggest concern going into the trip was the heat wave, the AC in the house did not disappoint. We would stay there again!

Perfect Beach Cottage

Quaint Cottage By Lake Michigan

This was an older cottage but really loved it! It was clean and had just about anything you could want available to you. Plenty of room for 8 people and Lake Michigan beach just a short walk away!

Vintage cottage

We had a great stay at this vintage cottage. The property was exactly as described and at a great location. The cottage was a short walk over the dune to the beach. It had everything we needed for a short stay on beach. Dunebillies never disappoints for breakfast and Shoreline Brewery for beers and dinnner was great!

A perfect family getaway

We had a fabulous time! This quaint cottage is steps from the beach and is located in a private, cozy setting. There was plenty of room for six of us (actually had beds to sleep eight), and the front patio area was a perfect place to enjoy morning coffee, play cards and chat. We enjoyed every minute of our stay. Thank you for making this a family vacation filled with great memories.

Best Cottage in Michigan City!

This place is a little vintage which made it perfect for a place by the beach. My family has been staying up here for over 40 years. Our first time at this location and it was so nostalgic, an aged cottage with the perfect amount of space and all the supplies we needed. Brian shared so much information that allowed our stay to match all of our other amazing visits to the East side of Lake Michigan. 10/10 would stay here again!!

Almost on the beach

Great location next to wonderful beach. Reasonable amenities were included in a much smaller than expected "vintage" house. Four bedrooms that were squeezed in were at the expense of closets and a washer and dryer.

Our second stay at the cottage and we loved it again. Location is amazing. Short walk to the beach (I'd recommend the more public path a block down, as it is an easier walk.) We had 3 cars and no parking issues at all. House was great! 4 bedrooms so everyone had their space. Good-sized kitchen for preparing meals and it has all the pans you'd need. Dining room table easily seats six or you can sit out on the patio. Washington Park is also a short walk and you are close to the outlets and downtown Michigan City.We are already talking about our next trip back.

FANTASTIC location! Short walk to the beautiful Sheridan beach. This home is very well equipped with everything you need for your stay. The owner, Brian, was very responsive with any questions and recommendations. We did a pick up order from Al’s supermarket nearby. We watched the amazing sunset at 8 pm every night. Our group was a girls trip of 6 ladies, so it was nice that everyone got their own bed. The only challenge was the creaky floors and doors in the middle of the night and the 2 bathrooms being right next to each other. I’d recommend bringing some sound machines. Overall, loved this quaint little cottage and made wonderful memories here. Would definitely stay again!

Relaxing beach vacation

This cottage is perfect for families / friends who want to enjoy the beach! Plenty of space for our group of 6, comfortable bedrooms and living space, 2 bathrooms, an awesome kitchen, and space outside for drying towels and swimsuits to head back to the beach the next day. Just walk over the dune to be on the beach - no roads to cross or parking hassles. Easy! I contacted the owner once to ask a silly question during our stay and the response was immediate. Outstanding communication throughout. Would recommend!!

Wonderful Week

Vintage Beachside Cottage was a delight! We loved our time there, mere steps from Lake Michigan. The bedside lamps in one of the bedrooms were not working, and Brian ordered and had delivered the next day a remote that was needed to operate them. Then they worked perfectly. The well-maintained, heart pine (I suspect from the age of the cottage) wood floors felt so good under our feet. Loved all the windows that let in so much natural light and the shaded patio where we relaxed and were able to eat. We would stay again.

Great Location for Beach

House is perfectly located if you want to spend your time on the beach, but is also comfortable enough to spend a rainy day in it. 4 bedrooms, 2 baths. Kitchen is nicely sized with counter space and a full-size fridge. Living area has a comfy couch and dining room table. Front porch has table and chairs along with space to drop your beach chairs and coolers. I'd recommend walking the short block down to the more public beach access, as the plastic handicap accessible walkway is easier to walk up when carrying coolers and chairs. Beach was great. We would definitely rent again.

Another great beach stay

We enjoyed another easy, fun beach stay at the dune cottage with two children, our dog, and a family guest. Plenty of room in the home and all the amenities that you need to enjoy time on the beach and to explore the area.

Hidden Gem

Loved our stay at this cute beach cottage! Tucked away in a quiet spot on a sandy path to the beach, we walked to the beach every day and really appreciated the beach chairs. The cozy front patio was perfect for morning coffee, reading and playing cards. In the evening we were just minutes away from great restaurants for dinner. Owners were great to work with and very responsive.
