A paradise for nature and water sports on Lake Plau in the Mecklenburg Lake District
In the Mecklenburg Lake District, situated on Lake Plau—the third-largest inland lake (39 square kilometres) in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, the health resort of Plau am See awaits you, characterised by the half-timbered houses of the farming townspeople and the ramparts of the Obitrites.
Lake Plau is an ideal paradise for water sports enthusiasts. We recommend a tour around the lake by bike or on the sightseeing bus, during which you can visit the Bärenwald with its adventure playground, the barefoot nature trail, and a climbing park.
Cultural highlights include jousting tournaments, castle festivals, and the “Musiksommer” music festival.
