John’s cabin was perfect! It’s tucked away in such a peaceful spot by the river, and we had the best time over the last five days. The cabin had everything we could have possibly needed, and it instantly felt like home. We’re already talking about when we can come back—thank you for sharing your little slice of heaven with us!
The cabin was very nice, cozy and quiet! Very nice neighbor across the Pecos. Great fishing right on the river across from the cabin!
Great food in Pecos, especially at the Pecos Canyon Cafe!

Perfect get away by the Pecos River! A beautiful, quiet retreat in a clean roomy cabin. This is our second stay there and plan to go again. John and his wife are wonderful host who we did not have to bother because everything was perfect!

Gail and Jonny,
Thank you for leaving our cottage in great condition.
We hope you had a wonderful time.
You are always welcome back.
Thanks, John and Arlene.
We enjoyed our time at Hidden Valley. It was comfortable and had lots of outdoor spaces including a fenced in yard for our dog. We cooked most of our meals there and found everything we needed including an accurate oven and a large fridge. The fly fishing was good and the river was lovely. The Wi-Fi worked great so the lack of cell service was not an issue. We would stay here again.

Just what we wanted. Close to nature w/ modern amenities 🙂
We had a deer stop by in the front yard to munch on the apples. Loved that. A great place to completely unwind. Great host. Even left fishing rods for us to use.
We really enjoyed our visit at the Hidden Valley Cottage. It was cozy with everything needed right at hand. And, we really enjoyed delicious apples from the trees in the yard! Time in the river yielded lots of fish. And, John was so helpful and friendly. He even provided a fishing report! Definitely recommended!

Bruce and Phyllis you are always welcome back.
Thanks for leaving the house in great shape..
Thanks John
Cabin is well located, adequately stocked, pet friendly, and comfortable. Fishing is from the bank and accessed by a short walk down the road. The deck pictured is on the river, but across the drive and front yard from the cabin, not attached to the cabin. The actual front porch is a nice place to sit with a pet.

The river deck is on the river bank for your enjoyment. You can fish anywhere in the neighborhood where you can access the river. The river is not privately owned. It is part of our neighborhood and the pecos national forest.
Thanks John

Wonderful cabin, fantastic location!
Wonderful cabin right on the river, caught (& released) a 14" Brown. Lots of fun fishing & enjoying the scenery. Beautiful area for fishing & very quiet. Village dog Cody/Codi came to play with our dog daily, and the two loved being a part of the fishing adventures. Neighbors were very quiet & very friendly. It's close to Pecos for groceries & sightseeing, and close to the county store in Terrero. Looking forward to staying in the fall to see the colors changing.

Quiet, serene, and blissful!
What a sweet place! Out dogs were very happy in the backyard, and sitting with us at the river for hours on end. It was so quiet and peaceful here for these three days. We enjoyed the friendly waves from neighbors, and meeting other neighborhood dogs. The house had everything we needed, and we were happy to find first aid supplies to help with a minor issue. This place is obviously well-loved, and we would come back in an instant. Thank you so much for letting us bring our old dogs with us!

The location of this house is amazing. It's down in a canyon and situated right on the Pecos river. Very quiet area - the only sound you hear is the river. It's also a short drive to some amazing hiking in the Pecos wilderness. The home itself is very comfortable, extremely clean and has everything you need to enjoy yourself - up to kindling and wood all set up for you in the fireplace, and even a cell phone charger! This is a great place to relax and be away from the hustle and bustle. There is no cell reception in the canyon, but there is wifi. It was very reliable and worked great for email and web browsing. I did several zoom meetings from the home and it struggled a bit to keep up with some of those - but still was manageable. John was very communicative and responsive throughout. I highly recommend this property!

Thanks for leaving the house in great shape.
You are always welcome back.
We were suffering from quarantine fatigue and looking for a safe, private, relaxing cabin on the river. We hit the jackpot with John’s cabin. It was clean, comfortable, quiet and very relaxing. We spent most of our time on the deck overlooking the river. Just reading and watching the river go by. John responded immediately and we had no problems finding the house or checking in. Don’t pass up this hidden gem in the Pecos. We will most certainly return!
