About this property
Spacious family chalet for 10, with mountain views & sunny garden
Nestling in the shadow of the Mont Blanc range, this chalet was fully reconstructed on the site of an old, ruined alpine farmhouse. It offers modern, spacious accommodation over 3 floors and is furnished to a high standard. Fitted, contemporary kitchen, exposed beams, mezzanine overlooking the living area, cosy furnishings and ample space for an extended family stay, are the standout features of this comfortable chalet. Situated in the authentic and traditional ski resort of Les Contamines Montjoie, it’s only 10 minutes’ walk from the village centre with its restaurants, shops and well stocked supermarkets. The free ski-bus stops almost on the doorstep and the ski lifts are just a few minutes’ drive. In the summer months, walking, climbing, biking, tennis and lake swimming are just a few of the activities on offer and the famous walking tour around Mont Blanc passes directly through the village. The chalet also has a south-facing garden terrace, for those summer barbeques.

About the host
Hosted by Caroline Strappazzon
I met my husband in Les Contamines while doing seasonal work and lived there for 8 years. We're now back in the UK running a French restaurant but return to the Alps whenever we get the chance.
Why they chose this property
This was a ruined barn that we inherited from my husband's family who have lived in the hamlet of Le Champelet for many generations. It needed completely rebuilding but has made a lovely family holiday home.
What makes this property unique
The chalet has a real convivial feel and we find it the perfect place to welcome friends and family. It is situated in a peaceful hamlet and has some stunning views from the upstairs windows.
