Cozy and private!

This was a fabulous place to meet the family! well set up for the -25c we had to endure. Sauna, games and pool table kept us busy and having fun together!

Good slopeside place to stay

Very comfortable and convenient house for true ski in and ski out. The short walk from parking lot wasn’t an issue for our group, and the sleds provided with the house made it easy to move our gear. The owners were quick to respond to the questions we had. We’d definitely consider staying here again - it was a fun week at Sun Peaks!

Nice stay

Owner kristine and paul are friendly. This was the 2nd time we stayed in their property. They responded quickly to our questions and needs. Good ski in/out location if you want to stay away from the busy village. Just note you may need a car with snow tire or awd to get up the hill on a snowy days.

Lovely old school Chalet

Stayed FEB 16 to FEB 20, 2022. Mostly quite clean, expect some dust here and there. Pool table a bonus. TV and TV channels. We were up during the Olympic so we didn’t watch any other channels other than Olympics but they have Netflix! Easy to ski out to Burfield Chair in the morning and more challenging to ski in until you find the right run to take! Did Burfield Outrun but on one day was quite chopped up as a snowboarder a little more challenging but my skier friends had no problems and brings you right to the Chalet! Well equipped, modern kitchen and amazing BBQ on patio! The toboggans to haul up our gear was very needed. The host was very quick to respond to questions via text or messenger. The beds could be updated. Would recommend and would return.

Old school skier paradise

We loved staying here! It was amazing to ski up to the door and go in for lunch or sauna. Great views, comfortable home, awesome location! Small portage from car was no problem; tobaggans were very helpful.

This is definitely a ski-in / ski-out house right from the back door. There is not any dire3ct acces to teh nit by car, and you have to walk down a path (not cleared) across a bridge and back up around a few other homes to get there. In our case none of the paths had been cleared or used recently and we had to break our own trail in the dark back up the hill in deep snow. Moving all our gear and food for the week proved to be very ardeuous. Given the poor condition of the road (not sanded) we were not able to get our vehicle up to the parking lot after the first day and had to leave it near the admin building. (You may want to specify that 4X4’s are required when renting your property) We consequently had to lug all our gear down the hill in deep snow to the admin building early Saturday morning for our departure. Overall, we can agree this was a very disappointing experience for us. After leaving the owners numerous voice mails, text messages and e-mails, we finally had to contact VRBO directly to ask for help since we were 2 days away from departure and still had not received any instructions concerning our arrival. In the future I would suggest having a designated representative to handle the property. VRBO guidelines are for check in information to be available one month prior to arrival. We arrived late Sunday night and not only was there not a path cleared to get to the house, the deck was totally covered in snow and ice and no sleds were visible. The garbage bin and ski locker were snow and iced in and not accessible until we cleared a way ourselves. As a side note, the bin was already partially filled with garbage when we got there.There were no instructions left in the house and we had to make up our own parking sticker to let others know that were renting a unit. We had expected the unit to be snow cleared and ready to move with well described instructions for the property and parking as has been our experience with previous rentals. I do not think it is acceptable to turn a unit over to rental guests without having the unit checked to ensure it is ready for occupation.

Great place to stay whether it being skiing or just enjoying Sun Peaks. 5 star place.

Overall experience of the cabin we stayed in at Sun Peaks was amazing. Owners were extremely friendly and helpful whenever there was any questions or doubt about anything. The cabin was comfortable and wasn't too small, it was the perfect size and had enough bedrooms/bathrooms for all of us. The sauna was a bonus as well for the next mornings. Definitely will try to come back each year as it's super easy to ski into and off the mountain. 100% would recommend to my friends/family.

Peaceful chalet Ski in Ski out and night sledding

Very quiet, on the ski runs. Lots of space and rooms. The ski runs are your garden from 4pm. Kitchen is well equipped (only sponges were missing!), Beds are not all the same quality but at least one double is good (kids dont care!), Bathroom are correct; owners are super nice, easy going and quick to answer. Check in Check out are very easy with a code. Perfect for a family. Far from the village if you dont have any car but there is a shuttle from 8am to 5pm

The ski chalet is nice and clean and have everything you needed. Good for big family and those who like to cook. Kitchen has everything that you needed. Owner is nice and friendly and responses quick if you have any questions. Highly recommended.

Excellent property, exactly as advertised.

This is an older style (but not dated or run-down) property that was very clean, very spacious and very comfortable. 1 minute downhill ski to the nearest lift. You are able to ski directly to the front door at the end of the day. Pool table and sauna were bonuses. Everything you need is provided, cable, Netflix, WiFi, linens and necessary cooking supplies. The owner was very responsive, always getting back within 1/2 day. Would rent again without hesitation.

Great location - needs attention to detail

First the pros: The property is in a great location for a ski vacation. The ski in/out from the Burfield Chair is super easy and convenient. It's a bit down valley from the main village and super quiet - not a lot of activity on the Burfield Chair, which is great for those seeking a quieter getaway. The top floor of the house, where the communal spaces are located (kitchen, dining, living rooms) has sweeping west-facing views down the valley with lots of sunlight. The sauna was a real treat for soothing the muscles are a day of skiing. Suggestions for Improvement: Bedrooms: The beds/pillows/linens are uncomfortable and need updating. They seem super old - an update in these departments would go a long way to making a stay here more comfortable. Kitchen: While the kitchen does have a lot of equipment, it could use an update in the utensils. The pots are new, which is great, but the pans are old non-stick which are flaking and peeling. Other utensils are old, rustly, and barely functioning. Replacing these with newer functioning ones is a must. We could not get the Keurig coffee maker to work with coffee pods as a piece was missing. The tea kettle fell apart and had to be screwed back together. Other: A hallway light went out after the first day - changing the lightbulb did not help - seems to be defective. Also, we had trouble getting into the house on our first day because the keypad entry system had old batteries. Had to climb in the window, which was luckily unlocked, to get in and change the batteries ourselves. Owners should keep on top of the electronics to make sure future tenants are not locked out. Lighting: The house is very dark. The living room especially needs more lighting, as well as some of the bedrooms. Communication: Owners do not proactively reach out about check-in, how our stay was going, or check-out. The house has no manual available printed or online, leaving us scratching our heads about these processes. Had to reach out to the owner ourselves to figure out check-in procedures and how to get to the house. The TV/Stereo system could use some instructions. Summary: This house is in a great location and definitely has potential as a great vacation rental, but is in need of small upgrades and more attention to details by the owner to make it a 5-star rental.

Family friendly house

The house worked extremely well for our family. We cooked a lot and we were happy that the kitchen was well equipped. It is a short ski from the house down to the Burfield lift, which gets one to the top of the mountain. One can ski back to the house, but it is a bit out of the way for a quick lunch. We loved staying there!

Great ski hill experience!

It's a great old-school cabin/chalet with character and the truest ski-in/out location we've ever had, you can see the Burfield Chair from the front door! Lot's of room and not squished among dozens of other chalets like some of the newer neighborhoods at Sunpeaks. It's a bit of a walk to the village, but we didn't come for the village we came for the skiing. A really great find!

great ski in-ski out location

The owners were very nice and gave us all the information necessary to check in before our arrival. They were responsive to all our questions. The listing is very accurate and the property is very well maintained. There are two floors with a finished basement. The top floor being the kitchen with dining room and the living room with a nice view of the Burfield area and the surrounding mountains. If you like to cook this is a great place to stay as the kitchen is well-stocked with all the dishes and equipment you could possibly need. The main bedrooms are on the ground floor with an entryway that is handy for drying and warming ski equipment. In the basement there is a pool table, another bedroom and a sauna and whirlpool tub. In the morning, I would ski down to the Burfield lift, and at the end of my day I skied all the way to the front door from the trail called 'Munro Ridge'. There is also a shuttle bus you can pick up nearby, which runs all day and will take you to the main village. I would highly recommend this accommodation for anyone hoping to stay in Sun Peaks.
