Welcome to Nordhorn!
Nordhorn—the idyllic, green waterfront town in the heart of the County of Bentheim, right on the border with the Netherlands.
After a flourishing era of the textile industry, Nordhorn is now focusing on its second major strength: The Vechte River not only flows through the city, forming a green ribbon across the entire county, but the city centre is also surrounded by two branches of this tranquil waterway—a waterfront city nestled in the countryside.
Let yourself be inspired by the city’s cultural offerings, enjoy the beautiful natural surroundings, and explore the fantastic biking and hiking trails along and on the water. Nordhorn is a worthwhile destination and offers everything from short trips to extended holidays. Especially popular: the traditional city festivals.
