Grassau is located in the Achental valley between Lake Chiemsee and the Chiemgau Alps and is a great starting point for a varied holiday in southeastern Upper Bavaria. The town offers shopping, dining options, and direct access to hiking and biking trails. Excursions to the Kendlmühlfilzen Nature Reserve or to the surrounding mountains, such as the Kampenwand and the Hochgern, are particularly popular. Lake Chiemsee, with its beaches, boat connections to Herreninsel and Fraueninsel, and numerous recreational opportunities, is just a few minutes away. The towns of Marquartstein, Reit im Winkl, and Ruhpolding are also located nearby. For families, the region offers amusement parks, swimming pools, and animal encounters. In winter, the ski resorts and cross-country trails of the Chiemgau Alps invite visitors to enjoy outdoor activities.
