Herdehous Dill "Schoua" - Herdehous

The kitchen is fully equipped. Dish soap, dish towels, and a Nespresso coffee maker are provided.
The bathroom is equipped with towels (2 per person), a shower mat, and a hair dryer. Soap, shower gel, and shampoo are provided for your use.
The bedroom is furnished with a double bed measuring 160x200 cm. Bedding is provided on-site.
If needed, a crib, high chair, and bottle warmer can be provided.
Your pet is also welcome in our lower apartment. Please book your dog’s stay under the “Pet” add-on option.
A breakfast service can be booked upon request.
The service includes: rolls, cheese, sausage, jam, honey, butter, and milk.



We rent out a historic half-timbered house dating from around 1850, which was completely renovated and partially expanded in 2024. In the past, the house was used as a shepherd’s cottage, a community center, an orphanage, and most recently as a residence.
The house is located directly on the scenic loop “Diller Burgpfad & Elfenpfad,” not far from the Roman Road between Mainz and Trier. In the historic town of Dill, a designated historic preservation area, you’ll find the castle ruins and the Protestant church built in 1701, both within walking distance of the vacation rental. The nearby Saar-Hunsrück Nature Park is ideal for hiking or biking.
The town of Kirchberg is just a 5-minute drive away; it is the oldest town in the Hunsrück and, with its historic market square, offers a lovely spot to linger. There are several supermarkets, a drugstore, a pharmacy, a butcher shop, and three bakeries there. In the village of Sohren (4 km away), you’ll find supermarkets, a pharmacy, and bakeries. Hahn Airport is a 10-minute drive away. The Rhine, Moselle, and Nahe rivers are all within a 30-minute drive. The B50 is just a few minutes from Dill; via this road, you can reach the cities of Koblenz/Cologne, Wittlich/Trier, and Mainz/Ludwigshafen.
