Just a few kilometres from St. Peter Ording lies Horst am See.
Built in the ’70s, the house had been lying dormant when we discovered it in the middle of Garding on a small side street.
It became clear to us pretty quickly: this would be our little nest.
But we wanted a big one.
We wanted it to be cosy, but with plenty of light and air.
Casual, yet extraordinary.
Modern, but bringing the decade it was built in back to life.
It doesn’t sound like an “either/or” situation at all—because we just went for it.
We renovated as much as necessary with a lot of passion and preserved as much as possible. PGJyPgPGJyPgWe blended modern, functional design ideas with authentic vintage treasures and accessories from the ’70s.
Spanning a good 230 square metres across two floors, our guests can stay in comfort at Horst am See.
You can retreat to one of the 6 bedrooms at any time to enjoy a well-deserved night’s sleep after exciting days, while the open-concept dining area and the large living room with a fireplace have plenty of space for everyone!

The fully equipped kitchen invites you to host a big cooking session, and entertainment options are available throughout the house, including high-speed internet, game areas, and TVs with Netflix and IP-TV.
Not only is the house itself spacious, but so is the garden, which borders directly on a small lake. On four terraces, you can relax and let the North Sea breeze wash over you while the grill heats up and the drinks chill.
Since spring 2021, our sauna house in the garden—complete with a small relaxation room—has provided even more relaxation.
This is how “Horst am See” came to be: a unique and spacious retreat for anyone who wants to spend their holiday with family and friends in a special atmosphere. Casual. Cosy. Extraordinary.
