Smedens Hus – Historic Swedish Cottage with Large Garden in Blekinge

Smedens Hus is peacefully located in the small village of Trensum in beautiful Blekinge and offers a truly special atmosphere. The former blacksmith’s house from 1856 has been lovingly preserved and carefully modernised, creating a cosy holiday home full of character and authentic Swedish charm.

With around 45 square metres of living space, this charming cottage offers historical details, cosy interiors and a peaceful location surrounded by nature. Some parts of the house still feature the original low ceilings, which add to the authentic historic atmosphere. Guests taller than 1.90 metres should keep this in mind.

The house is ideal for couples or small families looking to enjoy relaxing holidays in southern Sweden.

Smedens Hus offers two bedrooms. The main bedroom features two single beds that can be pushed together if desired. In addition, there is a cosy connecting room with a single bed and a small reading corner – perfect for relaxing with a book.

The well-equipped kitchen with dining table and coffee machine provides everything needed for a comfortable stay. The bright living room offers cosy seating areas and a television with German channels.

One of the highlights is the large garden surrounding the house. Guests can enjoy garden furniture, sun loungers, a barbecue area and a fire pit – perfect for long summer evenings in nature.

The region of Blekinge is often called “the garden of Sweden” thanks to its forests, meadows, lakes and beautiful archipelago coastline.

One of the most popular attractions nearby is Eriksberg Wildlife Park, the largest wildlife reserve in Scandinavia. The beautiful Blekinge archipelago with its islands, natural harbours and small bathing bays is also within easy reach.

The harbour town of Karlshamn is only around 15 minutes away and offers cafés, restaurants and lovely walking paths by the water. Karlskrona with its UNESCO World Heritage sites and famous Naval Museum is also perfect for a day trip.

For hiking enthusiasts, the well-known Blekingeleden trail offers beautiful routes through forests, small villages and along the coast.

Smedens Hus is a non-smoking property. Dogs are welcome upon request. Guests need to bring their own bed linen and towels. Final cleaning is professionally provided and included in the price.

Smedens Hus is the perfect place for guests looking for an authentic Swedish cottage full of history, tranquillity and cosy atmosphere in southern Sweden.

Very cosy place, nature at your doorstep, and peaceful. Amazing walking trails nearby. We felt right at home and slept so well in the comfortable bed. There is a fireplace so you can make it cosy inside, also an option for an outdoor fire but we didn’t use that. The kitchen has all the equipment so you can cook and make fresh coffee etc… the hosts were very responsive if we needed some help. We left feeling very relaxed and recharged after our stay
