A unique feature about the Sandy Run Cabin is that it is located in an ATV Friendly area. The Monday Creek Trail System is located 1-mile away from the cabin. Wayne National Forest offers over 75+ miles of designated trails for off-road riders. Guests can ride directly from the cabin to the nearest trail-head. If you have your own off-road vehicle, bring it to experience Wayne National Forest.
Travel down the road to visit Sand Run Lake and our “lower pond,” both great options for catch and release fishing. Visit Sand Run Lake Picnic Area to get lost in the forest filled with pine trees. If you have a hammock, we recommend bringing it so you can fall asleep amongst the trees. The newly renovated gravel fire pit with wooden benches and tables is great for you and your guests to create memories of a lifetime around the campfire. You can end your night by relaxing and unwinding in the warm Jacuzzi. Before heading to bed, make sure you and your guests check out the beautiful starry night sky because that is not something you get to experience all the time.

The absolute best features of the Sandy Run Cabin include all the outdoor features. Being avid outdoor lovers, we hope you and your guests get to spend some quality time outdoors! The images were a little misleading. I was under the impression that the cabin was a bit more remote than it actually was. We did have a nice visit from one of the neighbors who lived across the street. Overall the cabin would be nice for a family who are not looking for grown up time.

Thomas, we feel as if this review isn't just. You traveled to our cabin after hours and on the day of your arrival the entire area was impacted by a widespread power outage due to a fallen tree. This was completely out of our control as it was caused by mother nature. We ended up resolving the situation for your group so your statement about us not helping solve this issue is false. Power outages impact us just as much as they do our guests.

Sandy run was a nice get away and the price was very reasonable. Limited space for dogs but we were walking the trails at ash cave and old man’s cave. It wasn’t quite a remote as I thought it would be. Took in a few shops in the area and I think the slingshot looks like it would be a fun ride for anyone looking for adventure. Air conditioners go. In windows so if you have a warm spell you will need to open the windows and no screens. Overall a nice getaway for my honey and the fur babies.

The place was very very clean which we appreciate. We had two major faults with the property. The first issue is the beds. The metal framed beds, sag excessively in the middle, even before you get into the bed. Once you lay in bed, it sags even further. That sag A LOT. One person cannot sleep comfortably and two is even worse. The wood bunkbed sways significantly when someone is on the top bunk. Those mattresses, thankfully did not sag, but were overly firm. The second big concern is that something is crawling around and scratching in the walls of the main bedroom (under the stairs) and also up under the floor of the bathroom upstairs. It could be a raccoon or squirrel-something like that. Lou’s enough to wake me in the middle of the night. Although the location isn’t the best, it was fine for our needs. It would be a perfect location for those doing the ATV and outdoor trails.

-Decor was cute and it was clean. The temperature was great in the cabin.-There are a lot of repairs needed. Fridge dripped water all over the food and on the the floor.-Bedroom electric run by extension cords.-Half of the jets on hot tub didn't work.-Drains were all very slow.We did have a good time!

The cabin was on an intersection with no room for it to be dog friendly. Also we had children throwing rocks at our windows and cars and there is no cameras for us to be able to catch them. We ran out of trash bags and there were no extras for us so we had to go buy them. Also the hot tub was very dirty and unkept. The mattresses definitely need to be replaced SOON.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this property! It's comfortable, inviting and has everything one needs to relax and enjoy a wonderful stay. The staff at the general store was very friendly and very receptive to our comments/suggestions upon our checkout. It's far enough away from tourist hubbub yet close enough to easily access Hocking Hills State Park. We would definitely return to this property and encourage others to consider enjoying this cabin as well.
