Banvaktstuga anno 1905 is beautifully located near Fliseryd in the heart of Småland – directly by the famous Emån River and surrounded by forest, nature and complete tranquillity. The former railway keeper’s house from the historic railway line between Oskarshamn and Ruda has been carefully renovated and today combines authentic Swedish charm with cosy comfort.

Here, you spend your holiday right in the middle of nature. The Emån River flows directly behind the property, creating a peaceful and almost magical atmosphere. The Emån is well known throughout Sweden for its beautiful scenery, fishing opportunities and untouched nature. At the same time, the house enjoys a wonderfully secluded forest location – perfect for guests seeking relaxation and quiet surroundings.

The approximately 1,800 square metre natural property with mature trees offers many cosy places to relax. A hammock between birch and pine trees invites guests to unwind, while the covered veranda quickly becomes a favourite spot. Thanks to a special mosquito-catching system, guests can comfortably enjoy long summer evenings outside with very few mosquitoes.

The house offers around 70 square metres of living space and accommodates up to four guests. On the ground floor, guests will find the cosy living and dining area, the fully equipped kitchen and the modern bathroom. The converted attic serves as a spacious sleeping area.

Inside, warm colours, wood details and the fireplace create a traditional Swedish atmosphere. A comfortable sofa, armchairs, dining area and German TV channels make the living room perfect for relaxing evenings. WiFi is available.

The sleeping area upstairs features a large double bed measuring 180 x 200 cm as well as two single beds, making it ideal for couples or small families. The windows offer beautiful views towards the treetops and the river.

The kitchen combines modern comfort with historical details. In addition to a ceramic stove, oven and fridge-freezer combination, the original cooking station from 1905 has been preserved as a charming feature.

The modern bathroom includes a shower with glass partition, a separate toilet and towel warmer.

One of the highlights is the private rowing boat located directly at the small dock behind the house. The calm section of the Emån River is perfect for relaxing boat trips, small adventures on the water or simply enjoying the beautiful nature of Småland from the river.

The surrounding area also offers many excursion possibilities. Oskarshamn with its harbour, restaurants and shopping facilities is easily accessible. Guests can also explore Kalmar with its castle and old town or visit Västervik along the archipelago coast. Families often enjoy a trip to Astrid Lindgrens Värld, while nature lovers appreciate the many lakes, forests and hiking trails around Fliseryd.

Banvaktstuga anno 1905 is a non-smoking property. One pet is welcome. The rowing boat is included. Laundry packages can optionally be booked. Final cleaning is included. A security deposit of 150 Euro applies and electricity is charged according to usage at 0.45 Euro per kWh.
