The Country House is a newly renovated 2400 sq ft., 100 year old farmhouse with 5 beautifully appointed bedrooms and 2 large comfortable living spaces. The house sits on a beautiful 40 acre setting located just 5 minutes from downtown Mansfield, PA and less than 15 minutes from Historic Wellsboro, PA. The Country House has beautiful views of protected wetlands where there are migrating Canadian Geese, thousands of croaking peepers, wild turkeys, deer and black bear. Sitting on the front porch, looking at the tranquil setting will feel like days gone by.
The Carriage House is also located on the property. These 2 homes are located near each other which can both be reserved to accommodate large groups comfortably. The tranquil setting is wonderful for children…ideal for sitting around the campfire in Adirondack style seating, star gazing, roasting marshmallows, catching lightening bugs, grilling out, picnic lunches and enjoying time with family and friends while having all the wonderful things to do in Tioga County in your back yard. The property is a perfect location for a large family get-a-way, a reunion or a corporate retreat when you rent both homes for a total of 9 bedrooms.
Small pets will be considered for an additional cleaning fee of $100. Please contact us to make the request.

Great quiet county home close to town

We loved our stay there was plenty of room for our group of 7 to sit around the table and play games and enough space for us all to watch some TV. Very close to Mansfield and not a far drive to Wellsboro.

Peaceful Location

We really enjoyed our stay here, because it was so peaceful and quiet. There was plenty of room for our 2 families and the gardens surrounding the house gave it privacy and a cozy feeling. The hosts were great and communications were great.

Perfect Family Getaway

Loved the location. Great for our family gathering. Clean and well stocked kitchen. This house had everything we needed to have a very relaxing time. Outdoor fire ring was our favorite place to reminisce over our childhood and make new memories. The only upgrade I’d suggest is an extra bathroom for 8+ guest.

Mountain retreat

..We all enjoyed our stay. The house was large enough to accommodate all of us. We enjoyed spending time near where my husband spent many of his summer days. The owners were very respectful of our time and available for any concerns. We were grateful for the opportunity.

Great location for business retreat

Nice country setting. The house was clean and well-appointed. The internet worked pretty well for our presentations and work sessions. The kitchen was well stocked with utensils that made it easy to prepare our evening meals. Our stay was pleasant and comfortable, and made for a productive visit for our business team.

Beautiful Views-Huge Yard

We were in the area for a memorial service and this was a centrally located property. We spent most days traveling to see family, but on our last night, we just wanted to have time to pack up and rest, so many of the family came over to enjoy pizza and hang out in the massive backyard. This property is perfect for backyard entertaining. The house was clean, spacious, and was very well stocked. Will definitely stay there again when we are in the area.

Planning Retreat

We had a planning retreat with the women’s ministry leaders from our church. It was the perfect location! The house was comfortable and cozy. The nice big table was perfect for us to gather around and discuss what we wanted to accomplish this year. Everything was as listed. We will definitely be back next year!

Perfect Family Weekend

Our family of 5 celebrated Easter weekend at this lovely farmhouse. It was the perfect quiet escape we needed. We visited the Corning Museum of Glass during our visit, just 35 minutes away. The 1st floor bedroom and bath are not adjoining. This worked fine for our family but may be a challenge for older guests. We hope to return again in the future!

Farmhouse Visit

This Farmhouse was just what we were looking for. It's location was a half point from Buffalo, NY, where my son and his family is from and Lancaster, PA, where daughter and her family live. There was plenty room for all 8 of us. There was plenty of room in the back yard for the kids to play. The Fire pit was great! And we were able to do smores with the kids. It is close to Walmart, which we made use of for a few things which were forgotten. The owner was easy to communicate with. Hopefully, we will be able to do this annually!

Cozy getaway

The house was very clean and cozy. The location was on a nice quiet road with no nearby neighbors. Plenty of dishes and pans to use. Wi-Fi and streaming services were available. I would say my only minor issues are: The beds aren’t the most comfortable and there’s only thin blinds to keep the daylight out while trying to sleep in. But definitely nothing that kept us from having a great weekend.

We opened our home as a vacation rental in 2009. We moved to another home and decided to turn it into a vacation rental rather than sell the property. My husband and I both own other businesses in downtown Wellsboro, PA. I am the owner of The Fifth Season, a women's boutique and home furnishings store. (Stop by and visit the store, especially if you love the design style and decor in the homes.) My husband is a partner in a telecommunications company called Indigo Wireless. We are very active in our community and are often found working on one of our many charity or philanthropic ventures.We are the proud parents of 4 children. 2 older boys one who lives in Scottsbluff NE and one who will soon be graduating from University of Pittsburgh. We have 2 young girls, one who is 4 and one who is 7 who love attending Montessori and doing dance and gymnastics and performing in shows.

Why they chose this property

My husband purchased this property in 1997 and raised his 2 older sons here. He moved to the area to build a cellular system in the area. They were animal lovers and had a Noah's ark of rescued animals living on the property which is perfectly conducive to many animals with the large open pastures and nostalgic renovated red roofed barn. When my husband and I met in 2006 we decided we needed to live in Wellsboro to be closer to our other businesses. Rather than sell the home we decided to turn it into a vacation rental and share the beautiful setting with others.

What makes this property unique

Our property is a beautiful 40 acres that sits across from a protected wetland. It is a very peaceful oasis to visit when you are looking to get-a- way from the fast paced life of the city and suburbs. If you love a beautifully decorated home with all the modern amenities this is the home for you. The homes are decorated in the lovely 'Fifth Season' style.
