Perched above Newbury Park in the Santa Monica Mountains, this modern DWELL-style retreat offers expansive mountain views while putting guests within easy reach of Malibu beaches, hiking trails, Dark and quiet night skies. Great place to entertain, both inside and out. Feels like you are on a secluded retreat in the hills with Pacific Ocean breezes in the afternoo.
One-acre lot, pet-friendly large enclosed yard, Dwell modern style, family-friendly. BBQ with beautiful front deck all set up for alfresco dining.
3 bedrooms with an additional Art Studio/Office that can be closed offer for privacy and has a large couch that can be used to sleep on if necessary. 2 bath house in a quiet residential area. Master bathroom features a two person jacuzzi tub next to a spa like shower. Outdoor shower with total privacy. Set back off of a cul de sac. 25 minutes to the Malibu beach, 45 minutes to LAX. An hour and a half from Disneyland, 45 minutes from Santa Barbara. 20 minutes to Camarillo Outlet Mall. Horse ranch with horses to rent 5 minutes from the house, beautiful state park hiking and biking trails five minutes from the horse.Trailhead at corner of property that opens up to hiking.

This is our second time staying at the modern rustic retreat. Both times we enjoyed our stay very much. The home is always very clean, the kitchen is well stocked and we enjoy the views from the back patio.

We loved this house! The setting is so special with a beautiful view of the mountains and a nice sitting area outside with fire pit. The rooms were comfortable and the kitchen was very well stocked. We would definitely recommend and stay again!

We had a wonderful week’s stay here. Clean and comfortable home in a quiet neighborhood. Beds and pillows were super comfortable. We loved opening up the giant doors to and spending time on the back patio where the owner has pretty gardens and the view is fantastic. Great access to scenic road cycling which is what we traveled here to do. Thank you Daniel for sharing your home with us.

We are local to the area but needed a place to stay for a few days. Daniel was very responsive when I reached out to him with requests. We had a great stay at this beautiful (inside/out) property. Was nice to sit outside on the patio and enjoy the Mountain View..House was very clean, spacious, and comfortable. Great get away! Very quiet and peaceful. Everything we needed, from kitchenware to towels and linens, felt like a home away from home. Enjoyed cooking and bbqing for the family, and loved the option of outdoor or indoor seating for all 7 of us! The property was perfect with lots of different outdoor spaces to enjoy. Truly a retreat!

My wife Hollie, two daughters Sydney and Maxine, Sandy (our yellow lab) horse name Ned and Goats and Sheep. We (only the humans) travel a lot between our houses in Portland Or. and Thousand Oaks, Ca. We are both entrepreneurs, Hollie a Communication consultant and I am architectural designer We homeschooled our children till there were 8 and 10 and considered it a privilege with to have them in our lives all the time. Both are out of the house (official "empty nesters!) As a family we love adventure and life. Snow skiing almost weekly during the winter between Mt. Hood, Or. and Snow Valley,Utah. Mountain biking in the Santa Monica mountains and Bend, Or. I am an avid marathon runner, trail runner, and hiker. We love food from all parts of the world and get to experience it often when we are in Portland visiting the famous food carts.

Why they chose this property

Though the neighborhood is an older subdivision of small homes and lots, our ONE ACRE property sits atop of a hill above a cul de sac with stunning views. There are no houses behind us that give total privacy for the outdoor shower. Every afternoon we get breezes from the coast that is only 8 miles away

What makes this property unique

Great entertaining space. The 12' wide bi-folding doors open up to the front patio with features a 12' long table for large gathers, fire pit, bbq. and hammock overlooking the Santa Monica mountains. Equipped with outdoors speakers that can be hook up your laptop or smartphone for music listening.
