The villa was beautiful and had the most amazing views. It was spacious and well stocked for a very hospitable stay. The address was a little tricky for taxis but Bruno was amazing in helping us get the transportation we needed. Highly recommend for a memorable stay.
The property was beautiful - stunning views, light and airy, plenty of space - fully equipped kitchen. You could have multiple couples share it with no problem or a family like ours. The hosts were incredibly helpful, meeting us upon check in and walking us through everything. In advance, we received lots of links and recommendations for restaurants, day trips, etc. There is a garage to park your car if you have one. I have nothing but great things to say about this property and the experience. Thank you!
We had a great time at this property. Plenty of space for our family of 5. Well equipped, great views from the terrace. The bedrooms floor is a bit dated and can use some TLC. Bruno who checked us in reached out 24 hour before arrival to ensure we had the correct location of the house, offered lots of info about the area, tours, etc. He also helped us secure dinner reservations at multiple restaurants during our stay.
Bruno was fantastic prior to and during check-in. I cannot say enough about how good they made our experience. Bruno provided contacts for travel, taxi's, people at the Marina, places to shop in the area and in Sorrento. For our Family's first ever visit to Italy, it couldn't have been any better. The House is in immaculate condition, the rooms are spacious and clean, and the view is worth the price of admission. There is a nice public beach not far away, and a Marina with a mini market, and great restaurants within a short 15 min walk along the beach. Can't wait to stay here again! Thank you to Bruno and Mario for making our stay one our family will remember forever.
Lovely, clean, roomy Villa with the very best views!
We were met in Sorrento and escorted to the villa with a nice garage. There are essentially 4 bedrooms. 3 nice bathrooms. So many balconies and sunning areas. This was a lovely place to stay. There is ocean access and it’s a short walk for restaurants, bars, groceries and the local marina. Slower pace and nice, respectful people.
The property is beautiful. The views are spectacular and the beaches are within walking distance. The accommodations were excellent, plenty of space both indoors and out allowing privacy and quiet relaxation. We decided to forgo touring a day in order to stay and enjoy our accommodations.
Mario and his team provided wonderful service. We appreciated their assistance with transportation and restaurants recommendations, as well as local tips regarding shopping and touring the coast. Mario was always accessible and invested in ensuring our stay was memorable.
Host was kind, thoughtful and so helpful. We could not have asked for a better person. The house itself was magnificent and the location was beautiful. We hope to come back again and make this a part of tradition. Lifetime experience!
We had a fantastic week in Villa Edes! The villa was as advertised - beautiful, spacious and gorgeous views of the Sea. The kitchen had everything we needed and al fresco meals were special. We chose not to rent a car and were fortunate to fine two drivers to take us into Sorrento for dinners, spend an escorted day in Rome and a day visiting the Amalfi Coast towns of Positano, Amalfi and Ravello. The property host, Mario, was awesome in recommending local restaurants and taxi services. We highly recommend this property!
Property was as described and a great size for a family of 5. Plenty of space for everyone to have privacy; not on top of each other. Short walk to the water, breathtaking views of the Bay of Napoli, including the islands of Capri and Ishia. Sunsets from the roof terrace were AMAZING! MArio was a super host; available whenever we needed him; we connected prior to the trip where he provided a ton of information - restaurant recs in both Sorrento and the local town (Massa Lubresne)- sites to see, vendors to contact for boats to islands, scooter rentals, taxi services, etc. We felt very taken care of and very central. Sorrento was a short taxi ride for big city interests (including train station for our day trip to Pompeii), as was the whole coast - Positano, Amalfi and Ravello; but we could also walk along the sea locally to our small marina for local fare and chill with very friendly (and proud) locals. As picky upper-eastside New Yorkers, expectations were high and met! Fantastic trip!
To begin with, Mario was extremely helpful with everything that you can imagine. He helped with ideas with what to do, where to eat, information about all the tours that are available and I ended up deciding to rent a car and he even did research for me and gave me the contact info needed to achieve this. His partner Bruno was very helpful as well and helped with any of our daily needs. So thank you very much Mario and Bruno, you made a trip even better with your service. The property did not disappoint. When we showed up we were absolutely delighted to see how well it is kept up and even though the pictures are amazing it still doesn't do justice to just how great this place really is. We were indeed very sad to leave this spot but I am sure we will return to it someday in the near future. Do yourself a favor and don't think twice about choosing this property to make memories at.
We had a wonderful stay at Mario’s villa! Mario and his nephew were fantastic hosts and went out of their way to welcome us and check on us throughout our stay. When the Naples airport ended up losing two of our bags, Mario spent nearly half the time of our stay trying to help us get them back. He treated us like honored guests!
The villa is located in a very nice area for beach homes and vacationers, though it was never crowded. The flowers and bougainvillea were just breathtaking colors against the backdrop of the Italian seaside.
Massa Lubrense was a quaint seaside village. We found it enjoyable to walk along the coast (about 20 min walk with a toddler in tow) to the restaurant at the harbor, Funiculi’ Funicula.’ Delightful ambiance and delicious food and wine! We allowed our three teenagers to walk by themselves to get gelato at sunset and felt no danger in doing so.
The streets surrounding the villa are very steep and difficult to walk very far. Plan ahead to rent a vehicle if you want to get out very much. Getting around for our family of 7 proved to be more difficult than we had planned on, though Mario tried to prepare us and gave us lots of good options for pre booking taxi rides.
Do not hesitate to book this villa for a truly Mediterranean seaside vacation!
Both my husband and I enjoyed our stay in Massa Lubrense, Mario was a super host, before we arrived he sent us relevant information to help us organise our trip, he met us at the house and showed us round and gave us further information on restaurants, places to visit etc...
There are quite a few stairs to the property but used this as a good form of exercise!! Amazing views of Capri and Sorrento especially at night from the balcony and terrace. The house was clean, comfortable and cosy. A short walk to the harbour which has some lovely restaurants and a small shop to buy basic essentials was useful. Would definitely stay here again, thank you Mario for all your help and useful tips and thanks to Bruno too for helping us with the suitcases!!
Mario was the perfect host. House was every bit as nice as it looks in the photos, and the view is magnificent. Even though it rained for a couple days, we had a great time and would not hesitate to go back to Mario’s again.
A good group stay with fantastic views, local swimming area, and access to key nearby cities.
Heading to Sorrento and want a place that’s great for a group to stay, and a little off the beaten path? Overall our group of 6 were happy with the rooms, bathrooms, beds and location – we were here for 6 days, and it worked well for us. I’d recommend for the owner to get much faster Wifi based on the individuals who would want to come here. Granted that lack of wifi allowed our group to interact more with each other than our phones.
Pros:
Property: A large, clean property just outside the heart of Sorrento, but close enough to get anywhere. (Sorrento, Postiano, Amalfi, etc)
Walking: Walkable distance to the Massa Lubrense Harbor which is more of a ‘locals’ only spot. Some of our best and casual lunches and dinners were a nice walk along the water pathways.
Views: Incredible Patio and Rooftop for sunsets. Unobstructed views of Capri and sunsets in the horizon and Naples. The view alone, is fantastic to have drinks and watch the sun set.
Kitchen: Well stocked kitchen with cooking pots/pans/plates, etc. we cooked a few meals here
Local protected swimming area: a short walk down from the place there is a great protected swimming area, which is gorgeous and again more locals only. We swam there several times and was a great spot
Cons:
Wifi: Frustratingly slow wifi. So slow you cannot even upload videos to Instagram, have Zooms, or do anything actually semi (non) productive.
Distance to Main Towns: For some, you could find the distance to Sorrento or other places a problem. You always need a Taxi, which can take a long time to get, or you have to organize cars in advance, or you could rent Scooters to quickly get places. Distance could be an issue as you cannot walk to any major town, and need to organize transport to those places.
My husband and I spent two weeks here and truly enjoyed our stay. The property is exactly as advertised. The balconies are perfect for enjoying the magnificent views. It’s important to note that there are many steps leading up to the house so he prepared. This is the case with all of the houses in the area since they are built into the cliffs. Mario, the property manager, was outstanding to work with. He sent us numerous emails with everything we needed to know from excursions, to restaurants, transportation, etc. and he was also very helpful after we arrived. One more thing to note is that it takes about 15 minutes to drive to Sorrento which is your base town for your excursions. And it costs 40 euros each way. The cost does add up but it’s much easier than driving a car and trying to find a place to park. everything else is relatively inexpensive including the fabulous restaurants.
We were 4 adults and 4 teenagers who had a great time at Villa Edis. The house was wonderful with a great wiew. The terrasses were terriffic. Only three minutes walking down to the water, with good swimming opportunities. About 15 minutes walking to the supermarket. We rented rib-boats one day from Massa Lubrense, ten minutes walk from the house, and spent the whole day swimming and snorkling around Capri. We highly reccomend this trip. Mario was a great host, and helped us with several things.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Massa Lubrense. Mario was a great host and super attentive, both before we arrived and once we were in town. He met us at the house to show up around, etc, provided us lists of vendors and restaurants before we got there, and all of his suggestions were awesome. Lots of stairs in this beautiful home, but you are in the side of the mountain overlooking the water so its well worth it. We were able to walk to the beach, hang out in the hot tub, sit on the balcony watching the sunset, and more. Everything in the house was great as well. The only downside to staying here is you must have transportation arranged to go almost anywhere (except the beach) as the roads are VERY steep and almost impossible to walk to anywhere. Good news is it is easy to arrange a taxi or driver and all of the pre-planned activities we did offered to pick us up so it wasn't a big deal. You won't regret your stay here - it was just what our family of 5 needed!
We stayed in this beautiful house with 2 adults and 3 teenagers and had a fabulous time! The house is gorgeous, especially the amazing roof deck with a shower, and views from Capri to Naples. The house was lovely, clean, and comfortable. Mario was a fantastic host, easy to communicate with. He sent lots of links and info about things to do, met us at the house, and helped us to go get groceries when we arrived without any. He found us a ride to a local restaurant on our first evening as we were there without a car. It's a steep walk up to the road for the bus to Sorrento but still manageable without a car, although would be easier if you had one. The walk down to the sea and over to the marina is so lovely! The swimming is lovely, and better with water-shoes as it is rocky. We could get enough simple groceries at the marina and had a couple of dinners there too. Highly recommend! We would love to come back. Thank you Mario!
Villa was well-appointed with stunning views of Massa Lubrense. Mario was incredibly attentive to our group and went over and beyond to make sure our stay was comfortable. Would highly recommend!
The house is as described with 3 bedrooms and 3 balkonies / terraces. It is fully equipped and we enjoyed especially the AC during very hot days.
Location is close to the water with a 5 minute steep walk.
The host, Mario, is unbelievable and makes your stay as easy and pleasenat as you possibly can imagine. He went above and beyond to make it special. Thank you again, Mario.
Beautiful property and wonderful management. Would suggest owner consider adding shelves in the showers for shampoo/ razor/ soap and add glass doors versus shower curtains. Refrigerator is in a cabinet with a sticking door and microwave/ convection oven did not work
