This place was perfect for our family! So comfortable and the community was so great! Neighbors were friendly and helpful and generous with their crab!!! :) We will definitely stay here again. Already planning out next trip.
Groceries and gas about 20 minutes away. All the fun water equipment and safety vests made the stay extra fun. Everyone had a fantastic time! Owner was super helpful also! Can't wait to go back!
We've stayed at a lot of vacation rentals and this one is at the top of our list! We felt welcomed from the moment we entered this peaceful space. Not only was the home spotless, it was well organized and stocked. We felt like we were staying with friends that anticipated our every need. The beach access is across the street and we saw orcas, seals, porpoises, crabs, fish, starfish, etc. The friendly neighbors welcomed us with suggestions for wildlife sightings, berry picking, walking trails, and local must sees. The communication with our host was prompt, helpful, and friendly. We stayed in this home while we were visiting family, which doesn't really count as "vacation" but this home made us feel like we really were vacationing. We hope to stay again soon!

Great home away from home
The beach house was better than expected. It was very clean and ready for 9 people to invade it. There was ample room for all of us. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes, appliances and condiments and other necessities like baggies, paper towels, etc. We had seating for all of us and we enjoyed sitting on the balcony overlooking the water. The front windows were very large and low, so even a 2 year could look out. It felt very open and spacious. Plenty of extra towels and blankets. If you did not want to go downstairs you had no need to, since there was an entry was on second floor that had kitchen, tv/living room, bedrooms and bathroom. If you wanted to be separated from your children and other guests, you could stay downstairs with separate bedroom with bath, family room with tv and fireplace. The host was extremely easy to work with and very responsive. I would gladly stay there again. We found the neighbors to be very friendly and saw many walking their dogs, running, walking, biking on the road and walking and running on the beach. Not sure how far you could walk on the beach but probably several miles. The surprising thing to me was the water was crystal clear!! We watched an adult crab move about in the water and a seal play off shore.

We are so thrilled that others have enjoyed our favorite place as much as we do!
Loved our stay at the beach....
The house was Very Clean and comfortable...
Lots of water toys to play with....
And the SUN was out all week....
Again, Loved our relaxing stay at the beach!!!!
The home was everything that was describe, it was extremally clean and large. The host and hostess have everything a family would need for cooking and having fun on the water! If we were ever needing a place to stay in the area John and Shala's home will be our first choice!
Thank you John and Shala for allowing our family to enjoy your home for our special weekend of my son and daughter-in-laws wedding!
Our stay was very, very nice! Attended our son’s wedding and the birth of our grand daughter. The house was excellent and the host was very responsive!
The property was perfect for a family of four, particularly with a teenager that prefers her own space. She took over the lower level of the house except for when she was doing homework at the kitchen table.
The house was well stocked. Beach access was super easy and it was fun to walk and kayak. I really appreciated having the kayaks available to use.
The owner was also extremely responsive and helpful with requests. We would definitely stay at this property again and recommend to others.
- Breathtaking views

- John was super responsive to our questions & accommodating to our requests

- I highly recommend this property and will stay here again
- hands down this was my best VRBO experience
very clean....
great job remodeling
well stocked kitchen
we went crabbing and he had crab pots, pot for boiling our catch thanks for the fun time John!!!!
This place is A+ and John was great. It was very well appointed and the access to various activities (kayaking, crabbing, hiking, etc) was almost incomparable.
Views - A+ too. Spectacular.
The neighborhood couldn’t have been more welcoming and friendly and nice and quiet as we were there to relax and rest.
There is a high likelihood that if/ when we travel back to the pacific NW, this will be our first, second, and third option.
Our group of 7, ages 5 to 85, had a great 4-night stay at McKees Beach House. The upstairs was spacious enough that we could all enjoy cooking, eating, talking, watching movies and doing puzzles together (this was the tail of the pandemic, so we were just so happy to be together!) Our family with 2 kids took the lower level, which gave everyone some privacy as well. We walked and rowed to nearby Kayak Point Park, watched movies and played games, and cooked a lot of good meals. I really appreciated the extra mattresses, movies, pots, dishes, supplies like oil and sugar and tea -- it was perfect!

What makes this property unique
McKee's Beach is a very unique beach community due to the fact that the beach tidelands are owned and enjoyed equally by all the residents and their guests. With Kayak Point County park across the cove to the north and the Tulalip Reservation to the south, the pristine shoreline extends for miles unobstructed in either direction. This is one of the few beaches on the mainland where the beach is not down a steep bluff or below a tall bulkhead.
