We just completed our second stay at this beautiful property and, once again, it exceeded our expectations. Great decks with comfortable seating and spectacular lake views. Large three sided screen porch is a real highlight. Decor and amenities are thoughtful and complete. A wonderful stay!
We had a fantastic time, such a beautiful house and property. Everything was very clean and tidy when we arrived and there was plenty of room for everyone. I will definitely recommend this property and management in the future.
My husband and I live in Brainerd and we had family and friends in town from CO, MO and Duluth. This group has never spent time like this together and the layout of the property made it very comfortable for everyone to have their own space. We did not stay with them as the loft would not have worked for us. The loft would have been fun for kids but not for adults (150 weight limit on ladder). We truly enjoyed the screened in room above the garage, outdoor dining table, fire pit on the beach as well as on the deck. The kitchen was perfect as had nearly all meals on property and it was well equipped. We appreciated the opportunity to stay at this lovely property!

Beautiful property on Gull Lake in Minnesota
Overall, this is a nice property on a beautiful lake. We truly enjoyed our time on the water and at the home. The home was very well maintained as were the grounds and beach area. The only things that we found a bit deceptive were the representation of four bedrooms and “fees. It is clearly a three bedroom unit with a loft in the master bedroom that has a small ladder with a label and a 150 pound weight restriction. There are no stairs to get up there. It has no privacy.
Also, there are a lot of fees that make the listing price a bit deceptive. The additional cost/fees added another 31% to the cost of the stay.
Beautiful October weekend on Gull Lake with family! Property very well maintained. The owner was a joy to work with and quite accommodating to our wishes. Would definitely recommend!!!
We had a great time at the property for our stay. The kitchen was well equipped, the home, deck, yard and beach area were perfect for our family to gather inside and outside. And the lake.....was lovely!! Any questions or concerns we had were promptly addressed and resolved by the host.
Excellent location. Home as described. Family grew up going to another cabin on Gull, and valued the opportunity to share it with next generation. Melanie was prompt with communication and helpful.
As advertised! Beautiful property on a beautiful lake. The home is well maintained and much nicer in person.
Our party had 6 adults and there was room for more. We enjoyed the fire globe fire pit each evening on the beach while listening to the loons calling back and forth to each other…very relaxing.
The “boys” even caught some fish!
beautiful home with plenty of space and all the amenities you will need to have a great family vacation. We had fun on the dock and grilled on the deck with many laughs. The group will definitely will stay here again. Melanie was great to work with and met all of our needs.
This is the first VRBO place we’ve stayed that’s really much prettier than the pictures show. Quick owner responses when we needed a little help. Great access to the lake and a very relaxing location.
The house was beautiful inside and out, and the property is located directly on the lake with a dock, which is perfect if you’re renting a boat during your stay. Melanie was very professional and always prompt at answering my questions which was very helpful. I will say that the space is more suited for a maximum of 8 adults rather than 10, but we were able to figure out our sleeping arrangements with little problems. Overall, this was an awesome stay and would 100% come again.
We had a great stay here! The house is beautiful and in a great location! Melanie was very helpful and easy to work with. The house was clean and well maintained. Overall, I’d definitely recommend this place.
Very quiet secluded neighborhood. Beautiful home, everything is like new. Dock is on the Wilson Bay Area of Gull Lake so the water is calmer and more manageable for novice boaters. Would highly recommend this home for a family of four or five
Planned some getaway time with my mom and sisters and found this beautiful property. Its location in a neighborhood on Gull Lake is quiet, beautiful, and serene. The home itself is very lovely with wood vaulted ceilings, large windows, and amazing deck and porch spaces both at the house, and well as down on the sandy beach. The lake is clean and clear, and the landscaping is fantastic. There are bathrooms near all bedrooms, and nice indoor gathering spaces for games or conversations. The kitchen is well-equipped and works well for preparing meals or Happy Hours :)
Some considerations:. You cannot use the fireplace which is unfortunate especially for colder weather times, and there are also quite a few stairs to get into the house itself, and again if someone is sleeping in either the Master bedroom (no hand railing to this room either which is challenging even when you have good mobility) or to get into the lower level room/TV room (only one bedroom on the main floor). Otherwise a wonderful stay in a very beautiful home!
Beautiful home with lots of potential. In my opinion the “sleeps 10” should be taken with a grain of salt. There are 3 bedrooms- 1 king, 1 queen and two twins downstairs. There are two twins in an open loft overlooking the king bed. However- the straight ladder to reach it advises a 150 pound limit, the opening is very small and the ladder itself has more dowels than an actual flat step. Perhaps kids from 6-12 years may fit. To sleep up to 10 there are apparently two air mattresses for use. I’m not sure where these could even be placed as there is very little floor space.
For the most part weather was good; one chilly night but not being able to use the fireplace is disappointing as it is a listed amenity. But, in the house rules it is very firmly stated that it is not to be used.
The screened porch was a lovely surprise as there were no pictures on the site. We spent a great deal of time there; no mosquitoes and great views.
We loved the area, but due to these and other contradicting rules and confusing issues we wouldn’t return to this particular property.
My grandparents once owned a home on Gull Lake and I spent almost all of my summers their. It's such a special place, that I bought my own to share with my son's who are 16 and 5.
Although I grew up in a different state I know generations who come back from all over the world to experience the beauty and peace of the Lake. I hope you enjoy it as much as we have.
Why they chose this property
This home is situated on one of the best locations of the lake and has a reputation of a lovely neighborhood. It is on a culdesac and has views of both sides of the lake. Unusual on the lake. When it is calm on the lake on one side, it may be windy on the other.
The house has a beauty that I was floored by than any other property, including my grandparents home.
