The old village with its typical Savoyard chalets around the church, a jewel of the baroque, oozes character and charm. Positioned in a wonderfully natural setting, overlooking a small stream, the flat provides a comfortable ‘home-from-home’ with fantastic views of the mountains and in particular ‘la face’; the venue for the men’s downhill of the 92 Winter Olympic Games. After an active day in the mountains, Val-d'Isère’s apres-ski does not disappoint. Take time to relax in one of the numerous local bars and restaurants which cater to all tastes and provide an authentic experience in a friendly atmosphere.
In the summer, the mountains open up to sport addicts and accomplished idlers alike. The wonderful alpine scenery, fresh air and the endless hiking, walking, mountain-biking and horse riding trails are just the start. Val-d'Isère has endless possibilities for outdoor excitement seekers. Our apartment is perfectly positioned to take advantage of everything Val-d'Isère and the surrounding area has to offer, throughout the year. This is a lovely apartment in a great location. It is in the Rond-Point area, with excellent access to the slopes just yards away - but also a bit quieter than in the town centre. Ski hire from Smowberry and Ski Republic is on the spot too. The apartment is delightful inside - with plenty of space for the five of us. And the views from the balcony are charming. Highly recommended.
A wonderful stay in a very comfortable apartment in the best location for filing and with a beautiful view of the Olympic slope. Exceeded expectations. Very kind host and maid. Highly recommended

Terrific location and good property for a 4 person family. It could fit more but would be a squeeze. The bed in the main bedroom is a little on the small side but overall we had a terrific time here. As I say, the location is a real winner

It was a joy to return to Praz d'Aval. It's location on the ground floor near the Rond Point in Val d'Isere means that there is literally step free access from bed to piste - perfect! We were very comfortable there, booking and communication were easy. We will certainly be back when the opportunity allows.

Great location, great outlook, very comfortable and modern apartment
The apartment is 30m from the piste and then it is 50m to the bubbles, up Solaise or up Bellevarde, take your pick. Or take a chair instead. So we were skiing immediately in the mornings, and able to ski home too - the location was everything we hoped. We found decent local restaurants and bars without going into town, though all the free buses stop 20m from the apartment door so that's very easy too, though we usually walked in the 2-300 metres across the piste instead. The apartment was clean and comfortable, warm and well-equipped for a family stay, with simple modern furnishings. The views out to the Face from the dining table added motivation at breakfast time, and provided a mix of entertainment later in the day - on a different visit it might be warm enough to enjoy this view from the chairs on the balcony. The owner and local help were thoroughly obliging and straightforward in all our dealings. I'd certainly stay there again.

Felt rundown
We arrived to find the apartment poorly cleaned with a dirty loo, food caked to bin and walls, dusty skirting boards, muddy shoe racks, food smeared on bedroom window... I could go on. When I contacted the local host, he called back the cleaners who actually argued with me. They cleaned the bin and walls in the kitchen and loo but left everything else. A poor start. We then discovered a big hole in the main bathroom wall where an extractor fan should be. This was fixed the next day but I had to contact the owner in order to get this done. The general feel of this apartment is rundown. The bedding was poor quality and dirty, chipped plates and mugs, broken cabinet door in sitting room, scratched wooden floors, dirty linen in wardrobes, dirty radiators. For the price we paid this is terrible value. The only saving grace was its location. The photos on VRBO are very misleading.

Excellent séjour, le logement est confortable, clair , bien agençé , il comprend tout le nécessaire. Il est extrêmement bien situé à proximité immédiate du centre (activités et commerces), des télécabines, des navettes.

Appartement en tout point conforme à la description au centre de la station. Très bien équipé, fonctionnel et convivial. Un très bon accueil et une disponibilité des hôtes et une gestion à l’accueil et au départ très satisfaisante. Nous reviendrons!!
Un appartement très agréable, à la décoration personnalisée, très bien placé. Des interlocuteurs prévenants et très agréables, soucieux du bon déroulement du séjour.. Bref, une belle prestation pour cet appartement dans lequel nous avons passé un excellent séjour.
L’appartement et le contact avec le propriétaire a été super. L’appartement est situé à 2 min des pistes et on peut faire les courses à pied. La déco est faite abec beaucoup d’amour par les propriétaires et on s’est senti vraiment à l’aise. Très tranquille- on n’a jamais entendu des voisins!
Le seul bémol était qu’on ne pouvait entrer dans l’appartement qu’à 17.45 le 31.12 alors que l’arrivée était indiquée à partir de 16.00 heures.
Mais c’était une journée chargée, donc on comprend…

Why they chose this property
We aquired this apartment in 2002 because the location is great, less than 2 minutes away from ski lifts, the views of the mountains are beautifull and the apartment is spacious accommodating 9 people in great comfort. - 5 minutes walk from the centre of the old village - 2 minutes walk from the Solaise and Bellevardes ski lifts - 2 blocks away from the bus round-about (after the tunnel) - 2 blocks from the "village des enfants" - 1 block away from the Ski Rental shop “Ski Republic”
What makes this property unique
Quieter than in the center of the village. Buses 1 minutes walk away. Ski lifts to Bellevarde and Solaise are around the corner (2 minutes away).
