An absolutely fabulous apartment right in the heart of Vieux Port with good access to public transport, restaurants, bars and historical attractions. Victor is an amazing host and there's absolutely no amenity or facility lacking. The rooms are all a good size and furnished with taste. The kitchen is extremely well equipped and includes tea, coffee etc. Bedroom is spacious and as many towels and extra bedding you could wish for. Without doubt the nicest and finest place we have stayed in France and we are only sad our stay had to end. If Marseille beckons again we will definitely stay in this wonderful apartment. Faultless.

Another Great Stay in Marseille

This was my second time staying at this property. Victor is the best VRBO host. The apartment is spacious with a large private courtyard. The location cannot be beat. I look forward to staying here again.

Brilliant stay from start to finish. We cannot rate this property highly enough. Perfect host, perfect location, perfect property. This was our 2nd time here. The property is right in the centre of the old port with a huge selection of bars and restaurants nearby. Great transport links too, with the metro just across the road. Was nice to meet Victor this time after meeting his lovely Mum last year. Don't hesitate to book this fantastic accommodation if you get the chance.

Nice and well equiped apartment. Perfect location for a City trip to Marseille. In retrospect for us the best choice lying between several hotspots of Marseille.

The Magic of Marseille

Relive the magic of Marseille in this historic town! This lovely flat sits in the heart of the city’s historic sites with excellent food options and public transit just steps away. The port sits beautifully with its many sailing masts dotting the horizon. Victor adds a personal touch and is excellent at communicating.

Ideal location

We just loved the view from the balcony and the apartment was in a perfect location for exploring Marseilles and the surrounding area. We spent most of our time on the back terrace. The washing machine was a good bonus. It was nice to have a personal welcome from victor and get his advice.

Marseille adventure

Roland was a wonderful host. The apartment was immaculate, well furnished, and a great central location on the the harbor. Bakery, coffee shops, and supermarket all close by. Parking garage very close and convenient. Short walk to endless restaurants. Roland gave us many exceptional recommendations for dinning. Would definitely put this on our list of apartments when we return to Marseille.

Met by agent on arrival who gave us the lowdown on the accommodation and local amenities. Excellent location in the heart of the city a few yards from the old port. accommodation perfect for our needs, well stocked kitchen (utensils) which lead to a outside living area, protected from the frequent winds and sun, ideal social area. comfortable bed and lounge area. Marseille vibrant bustling. easy access to bus, metro and ferry services. Would not think twice of booking again.

Great location, great place

The flat is very well equipped and perfectly located next to the Old Harbour, with shops, cafés, restaurants, busses and metro nearby. Check-in is well organized. Victor was very responsive and answered all questions. He was very helpful when we arrived late in the evening and had trouble opening the key box. We particularly loved the great roof terrace; even though the liveliness of the streets is close, the terrace is a quiet and seclusive place to spend all day (and all night). Definitively recommended!

Awesome location, comfortable and clean, fantastic owner

The apartment is steps from the end of Vieux Port--the harbor can be seen from the sitting room and bedroom windows, while the terrace is on the city side. There are dozens of great restaurants within walking distance, as well as little food stores, Saturday markets, wine and gourmet shops. The owner, Victor, met us at the apartment, gave us tons of useful information about the area, and even helped us find the car park nearby. Can't say enough about his hospitality and help! It's wonderful to have the assistance of an English-speaking local when you're in a strange place for the first time. Highly recommended and we can't wait to return.

Wonderful apartment incredible location

This was our third trip to Marseille and this apartment surpassed all our expectations. The location is superb a minute from the harbor and all the local restaurants and bars. The apartment is very well appointed with plenty of kitchen equipment, towels, and even hangers! so many owners seem to think that guests don't bring clothes with them on vacation! The apartment also has a great terrace with a spot for afternoon sunbathing. We enjoyed our breakfast on the terrace every morning. It was very warm during our stay and having full air con was a bonus. Finally, Roland is a great host very helpful and friendly and quick to respond to any questions we had. I would really recommend this accommodation as a great place to stay.

Decent place and near the heart of the old port area

The building is old and the place feels a little old. It has new paint, but is was just slapped on over lots of other paint jobs over knobs and screws and... it's just messy. The place just needs a lot of TLC still. The bed is comfortable, so that helps. The building as a whole is old as well and some of the lights don't work. the elevator is really small, so don't expect to fit much in there. Overall it's a reasonable place in a nice part of town to explore Marseille.

Marseille - Vieux Port - 5 Day trip

Hosts Victor & Helene were great. We had a 5 day visit for a Bruce Springsteen concert (unfortunately cancelled due to Bruce being ill). This accommodation was perfect for us, very close to everything including metro, buses, shops and numerous restaurants. Outdoor terrace space was definitely a bonus and was used for breakfast and some sitting in the sun during the early afternoon(maybe a few glasses of alcoholic refreshments too). We were a little worried about the apartment being 'pet friendly' but you would never know as the place was very clean and no sign of pets at all. Secure entry to the building and the lift to the apartment was very easy to navigate. All in all, a fantastic stay and if the concert is rescheduled with a date that suits us then I'll be trying to book this same accommodation. Thanks again Victor/Helene

Comfortable and convenient - Highly recommended

Roland's apartment was just perfect for our trip to Marseille. Easy to access using public transport from the airport, and Roland was there to meet us as arranged and was even able to provide early access as the apartment was ready and vacant. It is very close to the Vieux Port which was lovely, and the view from the small balcony at the front was glorious. We enjoyed watching the sunset over the boats in the port. The terrace at the rear was certainly a great bonus. Warm in the October sunshine and we enjoyed the opportunity to take breakfast outside. A boulangerie just across the road was perfect for the morning croissant run! Although the apartment is quite close to the busy port, we experienced little noise being up on the 6th floor. The bed was most comfortable, and there was plenty of hot water, and kitchen utensils, although we didn't do much cooking in, prefering instead to visit some of the many places to eat in the locality. WiFi was efficient, and a washing machine and dishwasher added to the comforts. Marseille itself kept us entertained for the whole week. We made use of a three day pass on the public transport, and additionally the Marseille Pass which gave us a further three days using the transport, plus access to museums, the tourist train and the ColourBus. (We would have liked to visit Chateau d'If but the queues for the boat even in October were long). If we were to return to Marseille we would definitely choose this apartment again and wholeheartedly recommend it.

L'appartement de Victor était lumineux et aéré, et il est de taille parfaite pour deux personnes. Il y avait une cuisine spacieuse pour cuisiner ainsi qu'un joli patio. L'arrivée était très fluide, et l'emplacement près du Vieux-Port était très pratique.Je l'ai trouvé idéal pour explorer la ville et le recommande vivement pour un séjour à Marseille
