.Casuccio is a lovely country house set in a small hamlet located in a peaceful angle of San Mommè, a tiny village in the cool leafy valley(550 mt asl) of the Ombrone river. It’s a perfect location for those seeking to avoid the hustle and bustle of town life . The major towns of Tuscany are all within easy reach.From the house and garden you can enjoy a stunning view of the valley and the silence of the chestnut. You can sit in the shade of ancient oak-trees surrounding the spectacular swimming pool. The large garden is adjacent to the house and it is well equipped with sun loungers, tables, chairs , a solar paneled shower , a barbecue and a practical outdoor kitchen fully equipped.The House is set on 2 floors and sleeps 2 up to 9 .First floor:large well-lit living room with open-fire, reading area,sofa,amchairs, sofabed for two people.The spacious dining room is lovingly furnished in the Tuscan style with a gorgeous open fireplace.Kitchen,one twin bedded room , 1bathroom with a bath.Second floor : large family room with king size bed+ two single beds , 2 double bedrooms and 2 bathrooms both with shower box. The pool is open from May until September .

Lovely old house in a beautiful and charming little village, near to well connected Pistoia. The place is well equipped (including additional outdoor kitchen) and has a nice big pool.The hosts are so welcoming and happy to help in English. The village is small and beautiful and we really enjoyed walking up to the square for coffee, bread, an afternoon spritz and pizza.It’s cool inside and in the shade on a hot day, right near a little river and you wake up to birds singing. Fantastic

Fine for short stay

It was a nice stay. Friendly host and big house with a nice pool. Missing a bit of an outdoor area close to the kitchen. The town is not lively but a small kiosk. Maybe not the place for kids.

Hello Mark , Thanks for your review , however I have to say that you haven’ t described the place properly and I would like my next guests to take notice of my revisions. The place is not a town but a small village up the Hills near Pistoia . May be you haven’t had a stroll Around it and you haven’t read all the info I left in the house about the village where there are 2 bar ( one of them also sells some food and the other one bakes pizza . Then there is a Kiosk on the top of the well equipped playground where children have a lot of fun. Moreover there is a trattoria cooking Tuscan specialities. I wonder if you noticed all that . The village is not lively in June , schools are still open and people come mainly in July and August for their holiday and during those months there are a lot of entertainments.. You say you Missed an oudoor area close to the house kitchen , but you can’t deny that there is a fully equipped outdoor kitchen in the garden which our guests love because they can have meals al fresco . Unfortunately during your stay the weather was not always nice and I can understand that it was not advisable to let your children stay outside , it was too windy. We have been renting our Villa for more than 15 years and we have had children of any age of course babies like yours are more demanding and for parents it is stressful. I’m sorry to have had to point out all this , but for us it is important that our future guests have a clear picture of the place they will be staying. I have instead to give you a positive credit about the tidiness of the house although there were all those children . When I sent my review about you I gave you 3 stars by mistake and The system didn’t allow me to correct it , So sorry . I wish you and your friends all the very best. Alessandra

A perfect getaway

We enjoyed the most wonderful week in San Momme and Alessandra and Maurizio were the perfect hosts. The village is friendly and welcoming with as nice bustle to it - and great coffee and beer - but at nighttime, the whole valley is extremely quiet and tranquil. The house itself is utterly charming, full of lovely things and very comfortable. The pool is amazing - very large and deep and with the most stunning views. The photos don't do this wonderful place justice and we would very happily return.

Beautiful house in Northern Tuscany

My family, my parents and my sister's family (9 pers. : 6 adults and 3 kids aged 10, 13, and 16) stayed in the house for 10 days in June. The house was according to the photos and description and as mentioned in previous comments very clean. The pool area and the summer kitchen outside are very nice and the view from there is incredible. Some people complained about the fact that the garden is separate from the house (you have to walk out the house from main door to access the garden), however it was not a problem at all for us. Yes you have to walk up and down the stairs if you forget something in the house but we did not feel this was an issue. We stayed outside most of the time and enjoyed the sunny days near or in the pool :) The house has 3 bedrooms with double beds (one of which has also 2 single beds) on the second floor and one on the 1st floor (3 single beds). The beds are wide and comfortable, and the rooms spacious. The kitchen is a little small but functional. there are 2 living rooms. The house remains cool even in the hot summer days. The village of San Momme is also nice. It has 2 restaurants and a bar that also works as a grocery store. It sells bread and basic food. Otherwise you have to drive down to Pistoia (20min.) for the supermarkets. From Pistioa it's easy to access the major touristic places by train or car. We visited the Cinque Terre, Lucca, Florence, Sienna, and Pisa. The hosts Maurizio and Alessandra are very nice and discrete.

Wat een heerlijke weken hebben wij hier gehad. La dolce vita! Van alle gemakken voorzien, geweldige gastvrouw en gastheer, prima bedden, heerlijk zwembad en een fantastische buitenkeuken. We kregen goede tips voor uitstapjes en restaurants en werden heel fijn geholpen bij wat gedoe rondom de tolpoorten.

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour chez Maurizio et Alessandra. La maison est très spacieuse avec de belles chambres et de l'espace. La cuisine est bien fournie avec tout les essentiels. L'espace extérieur est très agréable avec la piscine et une terrace avec une cuisine d'appoint pour ne pas devoir remonter en haut. Les hôtes Maurizio et Alessandra ont été super disponibles et répondants. Pour ceux qui ont besoin d'un wifi stable, j'ai pu travailler toute la semaine à distance en vidéoconférence sans aucun soucis.

Ein Haus das alles bietet aber das auch Mankos hat

Alessandra und Maurizio waren sehr nette Gastgeber und hatten ein paar gute Tipps bezüglich Florenz und Lucca. Das Haus bietet alles was benötigt wird inklusive dem Pool. Wir, 2 Familien mit insgesamt 4 Kindern, konnten die Zeit genießen. Allerdings gibt es auch ein paar Dinge, die nicht so schön sind, auch wenn diese evtl. auf den Bildern zu sehen sind und es "irgendwo" in der Beschreibung steht. Der Weg vom Haus zum Pool ist doch sehr lange inkl. vieler Treppen, sodass es mühsam ist, wenn man etwas im Haus vergessen hat. Da das Haus in mitten von Wäldern liegt, hat man es am Pool nicht nur mit Moskitos, sondern auch mit sehr vielen Bremsen zu tun, deren Stich sehr schmerzhaft ist. Zudem ist es "merkwürdig", dass im Erdgeschoss eine Familie lebt und man das Haus doch nicht ganz alleine zur Verfügung hat, da dieses extrem hellhörig ist, kann man die Kinder dann auch nicht entsprechend spielen lassen, da die Nachbarn dann gestört werden. Der Weg von Pistoia zum Haus sind zwar lediglich 11 km aber durch die extrem kurvige und bergige Straße, benötigt man ca. 20 Minuten einfach und es kommt einem bei jedem Mal etwas länger vor. Man muss schon genau wissen, was man vom Einkauf braucht, denn wenn man nochmals los muss, dann sind gleich 60 Minuten weg. Das Be- und Entladen der Fahrzeuge ist beschwerlich, weil nur ein sehr schmaler Schotterweg von der Straße zum Haus führt und man das Auto dort auch nicht parken kann. Geparkt werden muss außerhalb auf einem freien Parkplatz

Uanede mængder ro og afslapning.

Et skønt ophold! Vi elskede at lave mad i det fine udendørskøkken. Vi levede tæt på udlejer, vi var bevidste om det og larmede måske ikke så meget som vi normalt ville gøre med 4 unge mennesker i familien. Det gjorde ikke ferien dårligere og tror det var vores behov for at tage hensyn, Alessandra og Maurizio virkede meget åbne og vi følte os meget velkomne. En nærværende og meget behagelig kontakt. Hjælpsomme og super søde. Huset er meget autentisk og smukt. Sengene virkelig gode og lækre. Puderne endnu bedre. Skøn pool med skygge om formiddagen. Resten af dagen fuld sol i poolen, med gode muligheder for skygge på dele af poolområdet/ terressen og i udendørskøkkenet Tak for denne gang Alessandra og Maurizio.

Aanrader!

We spendeerden twee prima weken in dit aangename huis. De eigenaars zijn leeg gastvrij en reageren meteen als je een vraag hebt. Ze verblijven regelmatig in het huis naast de woning, maar respecteerden absoluut de privacy waaraan wij nood hebben. In de zomermaanden is dit verblijf een aanrader omdat het er, op enkele honderden meters hoogte, 6-7 graden koeler is dan de verstikkende hitte die in Pistoia in de vallei heerst. En de inwoners van het kleine dorpje Sanmomé zijn zooo vriendelijk ... Het huis is een prima uitvalsbasis om naar Pisa, Lucca en de kust te gaan. (Vergeet dan zeker niet 's avonds Pietrasanta te bezoeken: ronduit betoverend met mooie mensen in een mooi decor! Ook Firenze en de shoppingscenters liggen maar op een uur afstand. Het huis zelf is enorm groot met ruime slaapkamers en 3 badkamers. De keuken is goed ingericht maar aan de kleine kant, al dat is geen probleem met haast overal smakelijke pizza's voor enkele euro's. ;-) Zet je de ramen 's nachts open en houd je de luiken overdag toe? Dan blijft het er heerlijk koel. De tuin ligt naast/onder het huis, is groot en piekfijn onderhouden met een royaal zwembad, waarin je zelfs kunt duiken in het diepere gedeelte, een volledig uitgeruste buitenkeuken, een apart zithoekje, en zelfs een apart tuinkamertje voor het droogrek. Aanrader!

Rundum zufrieden

Wir haben im Mai zwei Wochen mit fünf Erwachsenen und zwei Kindern hier verbracht. Das Haus ist sehr geräumig, hat eine gut ausgestattete Küche und bequeme Betten. Spielplatz und Fußballplatz sind zu Fuß gut zu erreichen, ebenso ein empfehlenswertes Restaurant und zwei Bars, eine davon mit angeschlossener Pizzeria. Ein Highlight des Hauses ist definitiv der sehr gepflegte Pool im Garten. Wenn wir den Pool aufgrund des Wetters nicht nutzen konnten (in San Mommè war es aufgrund der Lage immer ein bisschen kälter als etwa in Pistoia), haben wir Ausflüge u. a. nach Pisa, Florenz und Vinci gemacht. Die Straße nach San Mommè ist recht eng und kurvig, bietet aber einen tollen Blick ins Tal. Alessandra und Maurizio waren sehr nette Gastgeber und standen uns stets für Fragen zur Verfügung. Alles in allem haben wir einen sehr schönen Urlaub hier verbracht!

Limoncello CREMA!

Es war ein toller Aufenthalt. Wir hatten so viel Spaß. Tolle und saubere Unterkunft, großer Pool mit schönem Grillplatz / Outdoorküche, sehr schöne und ruhige Gegend mit traumhaftem Ausblick, leckere Tomaten aus dem eigenen Garten und zu guter letzt, die sehr freundlichen und hilfsbereiten Gastgeber Alessandra und Maurizio. Vielen Dank für die unterhaltsamen Abende mit selbstgemachtem Limoncello CREMA! , Grappa, Ramazotti CREMA! und „il soffio del diavolo“. Es war ein Erlebnis. Super house

Very clean and big house up in the mountains. Perfect place to relax ( at the swimmingpool), for a hike or to visit Pisa, Florence, Lucca, Pistoia. The owners are friendly and helpfull. We stayed with 4 adults and 6 teenagers in the house. More than enough space.

De très très belles vacances !

Allessandra et maurizio sont au petits soins tout en étant très discrets. La maison est très bien aménagée et joliment décorée.. elle est très fonctionnelle. Le jardin avec piscine a fait le bonheur des petits et des grands .. la cuisine extérieure nous a permis de faire chouette soirée en famille... le village permet d apprécier la douceur de vivre.. le village et la maison sont bien situés... nous ressentonsoins la chaleur qu en plaine... en résumé : nous avons passé d excellentes vacances...

Herrlicher Ort zum Entspannen

Gastgeber waren sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Wir dürften uns Gemüse aus dem Garten holen, besonders die Tomaten waren sehr lecker. Das Haus war sehr sauber und schön eingerichtet. Contra. Keine Parkmöglichketen am Haus. Sehr enge Straßen.

Sehr erholsamer Urlaub

Wir haben einen sehr erholsamen Urlaub bei Alessandra und Maurizio verbracht. Das Haus ist im Dorf Sammomme mit einer Bar, die auch etwas Lebensmittel verkauft. Das Haus war sehr sauber. Mauricio hat sich stets im Hintergrund gehalten, war aber stets zur Stelle bei Fragen. Die meiste Zeit haben wir am Pool verbracht mit den Vorzügen der Aussenküche. Parken kann man nicht direkt am Haus aber an einem kostenlosen Parkplatz ums Eck, was in Ordnung war. Mauricio ist ein Meister im Pizza machen, wozu er uns in den 2 Wochen Aufenthalt eingeladen hat. Das war klasse. Vielen Dank für den tollen Urlaub.

Séjour très agréable

Le propriétaire habite sur place mais est très sympa, généreux (légumes de son potager, grappa ;-) ) et très discret. La maison est très bien équipée, nous n'avons manqué de rien. La vue est splendide et la localisation est parfaite pour apprécier facilement la région. Il est possible de décharger ses valises devant la maison et le reste du séjour nous avons pu bénéficier d'un parking à +/- 300m. Fantastisk hus i rustik italiensk stil, med egen pool. Ligger i bjergene nord vest for Firenze.

Min kone og jeg, samt vores venner havde en helt igennem fantastisk ferie i denne skjulte perle. Beliggende i en mindre bjerg landsby, men med mulighed for at nå Lucca, Pisa og Firenze indenfor 1½ time i bil. Bil er et "must". Vi blev mødt af værtparret Alessandra og Maurizio, som er virkelig søde og hjælpsomme. De bor i et lille hus i et hjørne af haven og de er meget opmærksomme på hvornår de skal hjælpe og hvornår de skal trække sig tilbage. Huset er i flere etager med spisestue, opholdsstue, køkken, 4 værelser og tre badeværelser. Alt i dejlig rustik italiensk stil. Vi brugte swimmingpoolen flittigt, der ligger i haven ved siden af huset. med liggestole og alt det privatliv vi kunne ønske os. Der er også et udekøkken, som vi ikke nåede at få brugt. Det gør vi næste gang, for vi vender helt sikkert tilbage. Kort sagt: Helt igennem fantastisk sted med dejlige og hjælpsomme værter. Denne skjulte perle kan klart anbefales.

Heerlijke plek!

Wij waren 2 weken met 2 gezinnen te gast in deze mooie, oude woning. Het is even wennen om de trappen naar beneden en weer naar boven te nemen, maar het is het waard. Mooie ruime tuin met een heerlijk zwembad, uitgerust met zit- en ligstoelen. Prima! Alessandra en Maurizio zijn er als je hen nodig hebt. Verder geniet je alle vrijheid van een vrijstaande woning. De plek is geschikt als uitvalsbasis naar alle mooie plekken die Toscane te bieden heeft! De woning is compleet ingericht en er is genoeg ruimte voor 10 personen. We were 2 weeks with 2 families to guest in this beautiful, old house. It's getting used to taking the stairs down and back up, but it's worth it. Nice spacious garden with a lovely pool, equipped with sitting and deckchairs. Fine! Alessandra and Maurizio are there if you need them. Furthermore, you enjoy all the freedom of a detached house. The place is suitable as a base to all the beautiful places that Tuscany has to offer! The house is fully equipped and there is enough space for 10 people.

Beau séjour

Nous avons passé de belles vacances à 11. La maison est spacieuse. La vue et le cadre sont merveilleux. Mauriziau qui habite à côté est sympathique. Nous avons eu des difficultés pour nous garer au village parfois.

Nice place with wonderful hosts

We were a family with 3 grown-up children and a grandchild, we enjoyed our stay. Specially the swimmingpool and the outside kitchen. Alessandra and Mauricio were fantastics hosts, we loved Mauricios pizza and his cooking lesson.

Soggiorno indimenticabile rilassante e divertente soprattutto per i nostri tre bambini che hanno usufruito della piscina per tutta la settimana godendo di questo paradiso ...il posto è incantevole ,un’oasi in mezzo al verde e alla natura ...tranquillo ma soprattutto liberi di fare ...i proprietari gentilissimi e molto disponibili,consigliamo a tutti questa esperienza anche perché la casa è accogliente,funzionale visto le stanze e i bagni indipendenti adatta anche a piu’famiglie ma soprattutto molto attrezzata ...fresco e suggestivo lo spazio all’aperto...

Nous avons passé 2 très belles semaines chez Maurizio et Alessandra qui nous ont accueillis très chaleureusement. Nous avons pu découvrir de belles villes de Toscane: Florence, Pise, Luques, San Gimignano, Sienne...De belles randonnées sont egalement possibles à partir de Sammomme: au lac de Lagoni ou encore au lac de Scaffaiolo. La maison est spacieuse et bien équipée. Nous avons mangé près de la cuisine d'été à côté de la piscine qui a fait le bonheur des enfants et aussi des adultes. La rencontre avec Maurizio et Alessandra restera un très beau souvenir...Merci encore pour ces belles vacances.

Ce fut un plaisir pour nous de vous rencontrer Vous avez été des gens joyeux et polis et nous garderons un bon souvenir de vous tous. Les enfants étaient délicieux. Traumhaft schön zum Urlaub machen

Wir waren vom 14. bis 21.Juli im Ferienhaus. Haben vor allem den Pool mit Sprungbrett, die Outdoor- Küche im Schatten unter Eichenbäumen und die schöne Lage genossen. Aber auch das nette Miteinander mit dem Gastgeber und die selbst angebauten Auberginen, Zucchini und der Salat haben unseren Urlaub bereichert. Ausflüge machten wir nach Pistoia, Lucca und Florenz - jeweils auch gut mit der Bahn zu erreichen. Sammomme ist ein freundliches Dorf in den Bergen mit kleiner Pizzaria, Dorfladen und mit im Vergleich zur sommerlich heißen Ebene angenehmen Klima. Familie Trümner & Büchner (Schleswig-Holstein)
