Cascade Village Condo/Two Decks/Views/Heated Pool

Our 1,500 square foot Cascade Village condo (Unit 29) features three bedrooms / two bathrooms and is a great family mountain escape, with a full kitchen, wood fireplace, two private decks and amazing views.

The condo is fully furnished and offers all the comforts of home. The open living plan and high end furnishings and linens all contribute to the warm atmosphere.

Bed Configuration:
Master Bedroom - King with TV (Upstairs)
2nd - Bunk Beds (Queen over Queen with TV)(Downstairs)
3rd - Bunk Beds (Single over single) (Upstairs)

Please note, due to HOA regulations, this unit, and all of the units at Cascade Village, are NOT pet friendly. Also, trailers are not allowed.

Cascade Village is less than 2 miles north of Purgatory Resort, 26 miles (less than 30 minutes) north of Durango and 25 miles south of Silverton (less than 30 minutes). Free on-site amenities at Cascade Village including an indoor heated pool, sauna, outdoor/indoor hot tubs, pool table, outdoor tennis court, and a ski rental shop (with discounts).

Purgatory offers a complimentary ski shuttle to our Cascade rental guests on a set schedule 1-2 times in the AM and PM during the ski season, on a first come first serve basis. Details will be provided in your rental instructions.

All of the Cascade Village units are equipped with reliable Fiber Optic internet service with an average internet speed of up to 50 Mbps and guests can stream their favorite movies and TV shows on their preferred provider (e.g. Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime) using the smart TVs in the unit. With fast and reliable fiber optic WIFI, guests can stream on multiple devices. Cable TV is not available in any units at Cascade Village.

As with all properties in the area, the condo does not have AC, given the day times highs are rarely above 80 while the lows are in the 40s. Open the windows after the sun is behind the mountains, and then close them in the morning along with the blinds that face west. This will keep the condo plenty cool.

Book at least a week and a 10% discount is automatically applied (Excludes Christmas/New Years).

Overall the unit was good. On arrival, we had no hot water in lower bathroom and the dishwasher was dislodged and would fall over when opened. They did send someone to fix the bathroom. The dishwasher was not fixed during our stay. There were zero extra trash bags and no extra paper towels, which we were told would be provided. So we had to make an extra one hour trip to the store to buy those items.

Amazing Long Weekend

Our two families had a great holiday weekend here. The condo has everything you need. The shuttle to Purg and the pool/hot tub/game room building is right across the street. Amazing location!

Very cozy and well stocked with the decor to make you live in the moment of this beautiful location. Really nice to be able to use the amenities after a day in the rugged terrain of the San Juan. Great location and highly recommend! Hope to be able to come back and do it again. The children didn't want to leave! We appreciate this opportunity

Great location and the place itself was amazing. The only down side is that due to the covid restrictions the pool was closed and that was the main reason we choose this location. We were not notified that the pool would be closed

Nice condo, location

We stayed four nights for skiing. Positive notes: --Listing overall accurate and in line with other reviews; we would stay again despite some minor inconveniences listed below. --Communication with owner was quick when needed --Ski shop in basement of main building made ski rental process very easy --Kitchen well-equipped (we cooked all our food) --Beds were very comfortable, extra blankets available in closets --Entry area from garage was very handy for storing our ski gear --Plenty of hooks/hanging areas for ski clothing --Main building (with pool/spa/game room/etc.) an easy walk across the street Areas of improvement: --Dryer did not work; owner offered to send maintenance, but we didn't really need it, so we didn't want to deal with it --Ski shuttle runs twice daily only, so we did not use it, driving to park at the ski resort instead; this was not clear on the listing --Television was not hooked up as stated in the manual, so we had to troubleshoot it ourselves (we believe the cleaning crew must have accidentally unplugged something) --Living room seating was somewhat lacking with one sofa and a wooden chair. It was hard for our family of five to sit together comfortably for evening movies.

We had everything we needed there, from well equipped kitchen to comfortable bedrooms and spacious storage space (closets, chests of drawers, plenty hooks to hang your jackets or backpacks). After hours of hiking and see-sighting we enjoyed relaxing by the fire place, watching movies and playing games (even though we brought our own, we liked a little collection of movies and games provided in the condo). In the living room there were updated brochures about many of the local attractions with maps and phone numbers etc. and they were quite useful. Views from 2 balconies - spectacular and the same wonderful mountain view when you seat at the dinning table or cook your meal. Perfection!Parking garage is covered. I can imagine it is fantastic in winter, not to have to deal with snow covered car.Cascade Village has a great location, not only picturesque but close to many trails, activities and attractions. I liked this place a lot and I am considering coming back next year.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Cascade Village 29 was a great place for our family to stay while visiting the area for our summer vacation. We used it as a home base for hiking, rock climbing and visiting Mesa Verde. The condo was clean, fun decor, and available games to keep the kiddos busy at the end of the day. The mud room to keep our dusty/dirty shoes and bags from our daily activities helped us manage our mess. As did the washer/dryer for our clothes. The labeled light switches were a nice touch since there are so many and grouped together in some places. We spent several mornings waking up on the lower deck, nibbling our breakfast and watching the humming birds, and magpies fly around. The view from the condo is a real nice change of pace for eastern Kansans. We, however, didn't get a chance to use to the pool, nor the other amenities of the Village.The couple glitches... As previously mentioned the light switches were labeled but the thermostats weren't, and there are quite a few. The first night, the master bedroom remained pretty cold as we couldn't figure out which thermostat controlled that room. For the rest of our stay, we hiked up all of the thermostats resulting in us being too warm at night. We arrived home one night early enough to take in a movie on the tv but entertainment system didn't seem to be fully hooked up despite trying to follow the directions provided.None of the problems we faced detracted from our overall stay very much. More viewed as frustrations but some may have a problem with this. If we're out this way again, we'll look to stay here again as the experience was overall favorable.

The host was great. Instructions were clear and simple. Checking in and out was a breeze. The place was comfortable and very well appointed. We like our coffee and we like to cook, and we had everything we needed. Everybody slept extremely well (the beds were comfortable), the view of the mountains is amazing, and the hottub and pool were very close. The location also provided easy access to the slopes.

Nice place but far from town

Nice spacious place for entire 6 member family. Contained everything needed. Far, but scenic drive from both Silverton & Durango but we were mostly hiking in area. There was construction going on out front that was annoying with yhe constant beeping of backing up construction vehicles.

Amazing vacay!

We had the most wonderful Christmas vacation at this awesome condo. The view from the living/dining room was incredible. We went sledding just a few steps away from the unit and built a snowman out the back door. The location was nice as it was away from the crowded ski area. We didn’t have any wine glasses when we arrived and although we were willing to make do with regular glasses no problem, the property manager went out of their way to provide us with some the very next day! What a wonderful stay - we are so grateful for the memories and will be back!

Great condo in the mountains!

We loved this condo! While it’s about 15-20 minutes from Durango, it’s central to mountain hiking, and halfway between Durango and Silverton. Everything was just as expected based on the listing and photos. I enjoyed sitting on the porch and watching the hummingbirds and enjoying the views. We will definitely be back to this unit!

Nice property, but wish we were notified of the pool being closed.

One of the reasons that I picked this location was because it had a pool for my kids. The listing gave no indication that the pool and hot tub was closed. This was a major disappointment. The property was clean and comfortable. It had a keurig coffee pot and regular coffee pot. I will say that we tried to use the regular coffee pot and it didnt finish brewing until we FINISHED a game of Monopoly. Bring your k-cups!!

Late summer getaway

My husband and I went up to Purgatory and brought his parents and our young daughter. Everyone had a great time. My daughter especially enjoyed the queen bunks beds! Very reasonably priced condo in a great area.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We LOVED our stay at Cascade Village 29 and look forward to the next time that we can go back. It was perfect for our family of 6.
