Visiting the Ardennes

A lovely property located on the Outhre River. It was a perfect place from which to visit the Ardennes area which has a wonderful mixture of history and nature. The Gite was so peaceful, well appointed with everything we needed, and our host was kind, hospitable, and very helpful. We hope to make a return visit!

Lovely Idyllic Sanctuary

My wife should really write this review because she was 'over the moon' with pleasure at not only the beautiful quarters but also the wonderful area of Esneux. Our host even made a special trip to acquire for us tourism pamphlets in English, and she allowed us to use her bicycles for a fantastic ride in the country. We would stay there again in a heartbeat. Wonderful, peaceful, tranquil.

Excellent location for a stay in the Ardennes

We had a wonderfull stay in Esneux. The cottage has everything you need for a week of rest and relaxation. The kitchen is very complete, with a combi microwave oven and a regular oven, a dishwasher and enough equipment to cook your own meal. The living room is very spacious and offers lots of possibilities to rest after one of the many nice walks in the local village of Esneux or elsewehere in the Ardennes. There is plenty of space to sit outside of the cottage and the river Ourthe is only a few steps away. The cottage has a large bedroom upstairs with a comfortable two-person bed, lots of storage space and racks for your bags. The bathroom is also situated in the bedroom and consists of a sink and a shower pod with lots of options, but due to issues only the showering function is working. This is no problem ofcourse. The only remark one could have is that the shower might be a bit low if you are above the average height, but we managed although one of us was quite tall. The village offers lots of restaurants, a train station, bus stops, a supermarket, bakery's etc. In the nearyby villages you can find larger supermarkets and shops. The host is very kind and will make sure you have a great stay in Esneux. If French is not your native language, no worries... you can communicate in English without issues. We had a great time in Esneux and would recommend this location to anyone visiting the Ardennes!

Der Aufenthalt hat alle Erwartungen übertroffen. Die Lage des Hauses im Zentrum von Esneux war ideal. Alles per Fuß zu erreichen. Die Unterkunft war komfortabel und sauber. Die Gastgeberin äußerst nett und stand immer bei Fragen etc. zur Verfügung.

Schönes altes Steinhaus. Sehr ruhig direkt am Fluss gelegen.Schön eingerichtet und gut ausgestattete Küche. Gute Versorgung im Ort mit Geschäften und perfekte Anbindung auch ohne Auto durch den Bahnhof. Wir kommen gerne wieder auch wenn die Treppe zur Toilette nachts für uns etwas unbequem war.

Ich habe zehn schöne Tage in der Ferienwohnung von Madeleine verbracht. Das Häuschen ist ruhig gelegen. Die Ausstattung ist sehr gut. (Ich habe den Luxus von großen Glasschüsseln für Salat sehr genossen.)Esneux ist eine nette, kleine Stadt, die ein guter Ausgangspunkt ist, um die Region zu erkunden. Der 15 Gehminuten entfernte Bahnhof ist sehr praktisch, um mit der Eisenbahn z. B. nach Liège zu fahren. Der nächste größere, gutsortierte Supermarkt ist im acht Kilometer entfernten Tilff zu finden.Madeleine ist sehr gastfreundlich und entgegenkommend. Die Kommunikation war einfach; sie hat auf Nachrichten schnell reagiert.Alles in allem kann ich diese Ferienwohnung wärmstens empfehlen.

Ein sehr schönes Wochenende

Wir haben unseren Aufenthalt sehr genossen. Haus, Garten und Umgebung haben uns gut gefallen. Auch für vier Erwachsene ist das Ferienhaus geeignet, wenn man sich gut versteht und mit ein paar Einschränkungen leben kann, was die Privatsphäre angeht. Nur ein etwas größeres Waschbecken hätten wir uns gewünscht.

Sehr hübsches Haus inschöner Lage

Wir haben den Aufenthalt und die überaus freundliche Betreuung durch Madelaine in diesem wunderschön gelegenen Haus sehr genossen. Der tw. malerisch gelegene Fahrradweg direkt hinter dem Haus hat uns u.a. bis Lüttich geführt.

Die Lage ist einfach perfekt. Direkt am Fluss, gleich im Zentrum und trotzdem ruhig in einem herrlichen Garten. Alles mit viel Liebe zum Detail eingerichtet. Eine sehr freundliche und aufmerksame Gastgeberin. Auch bei der Ausstattung hat nichts gefehlt. Top!

Biloba

Heerlijk appartement met alles er op en er aan. Enige minpunt was dat het geen vrijstaand huisje was. Wat op de fotos wel die indruk gaf. Uitzicht leek op de fotos prachtig maar dat was alleen vanuit de slaapkamer op de bovenverdiepingping. Op het terres keek je uit op een groot complex. Maar dit werd ruimschoots gecompenseerd doordat het al met al een prachtig huisje is in een mooie omgeving vlakbij een prachtige boulevard met allemaal leuke terrasjes . Ook is de eigenaresse een fijne hartelijke vrouw wat zeker bijdraagt aan een goed gevoel over deze vakantie.

Merci pour votre appréciation. Il ne s’agit pas d’un appartement mais bien d’un gite indépendant (petite maison 4 façades) situé à coté de la maison du propriétaire. Le gite comprend une entrée indépendante ainsi qu’une terrasse privative. Les vues depuis le gite sont variées. Depuis la chambre la vue sur le château Le Fy et le jardin. Depuis le salon, la vue sur l’entrée de la propriété, la maison du propriétaire et les arbres Gingko Biloba. Depuis la terrasse la vue sur la rivière l’Ourthe et de l’autre côté de la berge une maison de repos. Celle dernière est plus visible depuis les inondations dévastatrices de 2021. De nouvelles plantations en cours vont permettre d’améliorer la vue depuis la terrasse.

Très bien

Très bon accueil de Madeleine, le gîte est très bien équipé, nous nous sommes sentis comme chez nous. Nous cherchions le calme et ce fut le cas, l’endroit est très calme. La région est très belle, on a pu se balader à pied autour du gîte, les commerces sont même accessible à pied si on le désire. On est pas très loin de beaux villages/villes. Merci à Madeleine pour ce bon moment! Mireille et Axel
