A fully modernised cottage which adjoins the main house, directly opposite the stunning Longis Beach and Fort Raz.
The Cottage sleeps 4 in two double bedrooms and the accommodation is set out over two floors and enjoys stunning views.
Pets are accepted by prior arrangement only and a small charge is made for this, payable in cash on arrival.
The island of Alderney is one of the UK's best kept secrets, only 80 miles south of the UK's southern coast and the cottage is located at the eastern end of the island, about 1.5 miles from the town of St Anne.
It should be noted that the island of Alderney is a separate island to Guernsey - a 15 minute flight away or just over an hour on a small boat. Our postal district is Guernsey which is why it may seem confusing!

The property was very comfortable and well appointed in a great location.
We had a great week - partly because the weather was so good. The owners were very helpful and we were able to enjoy the property to the full. We alternated between eating in and going out to a restaurant so made good use of the cooking facilities. One of the major benefits was the close location to the excellent beaches at the east end of the island (which were mostly deserted). We managed to swim most days. We also enjoyed walking around the coastal path. We probably ‘overdid’ the slightly long walk into town and maybe should have made more use of taxis or perhaps bikes. On several nights the sky and stars were amazing. So to summarise - a really enjoyable holiday at a great location on a lovely island where everyone is so welcoming and friendly.

Hi Rodney and Liz and thank-you for your review. So glad that you enjoyed our island and had a nice week with us. We hope we might be seeing you again some time. Hope your travel home went without a hitch. With best wishes, Gill and Nigel
After a very warm welcome we were very happy to find this clean, neat and cosy cottage where we felt immediately at home. The cottage was well equipped. The location on the island was unique with view on the sea and access to the beach. We are grateful for this extraordinary experience,

So glad you enjoyed your stay and the island and hope to see you again some time. Best wishes
We loved this property with views of the sea to wake up to and the beach a stone throw's away-mostly deserted in June. The night skies were amazing too. The cottage is set in beautiful grounds with seats to sit outside. Orange tipped butterflies danced at our feet and we saw Hummingbird moths.
The cottage is beautiful and has everything you could possibly need and Gill and Nigel are very friendly and helpful.
St Anne's is about 3 miles away but taxi's anywhere are £5 and are very efficient-we used A1 Taxi's when we didn't want to walk.
The island is a paradise for nature lovers with Alderney Wildlife Trust trips available to see bats, blonde hedgehogs, puffins and "Gannet Rock". Volunteers spend a year on the island doing work for the Trust which we were very impressed with.
There are lots of places to eat out in Bray and St Anne's-all the meals we had were very good.
We highly recommend this property and island if you just want to get away fromm it all and take a step back in time-no one locks their doors on the island!

About the host
Hosted by Gill & Nigel Dupont
I am from the UK and moved to Alderney to live in 2003. My husband is island born and life here is of an amazing quality, with no traffic, idyllic peace and quiet, lots of bars and restaurants and socially as lively as you want it to be. After 15 years of living here I can't imagine anywhere else in the world I would like to live.
Why they chose this property
We are one of very few properties on the island offering beachside accommodation. We are situated about 1.5 miles from the town of St Anne dirrectly opposite the stunning Longis Beach.
What makes this property unique
The peace and quiet at Les Pourciaux Cottage on a still calm day cannot be beaten. Longis "Our" beach, is stunning white sand with crystal clear water, cool for swimming (Well, this is UK!) but invigorating.
