About this property
Former Sea Captains' 1850s Greek Revival home minutes to town and boat launch
A Beautiful Greek Revival home with wide wrap around porches poised for lovey afternoon and evening sun. Set on 3 acres of hillside, and a 5 minute walk into the small village of Waldoboro and its town dock (bring your kayak/canoe, etc), this is close to many beautiful parks, waterways, and other more famous areas of mid midcoast Maine (but they are more crowded!), such as Damariscotta, Rockland, Camden, Belfast, Acadia. The village of Waldoboro has a great local family friendly pub, the Narrows, Perch bakery/cafe, Dayboat Cafe for lunches and snacks, Ida's Wine Bar for food pop-ups and workshops, and there is a local brewery less than a mile away in a beautiful barn setting. The house is close to many conveniences and pretty privately set among trees, and note also close to the road where local traffic heads to and from the tip of our peninsula, to Friendship (mostly lobster and lumber toting vehicles).
Rooms are lovingly furnished with owners' finds from antique and flea markets. This is not a fully renovated old house, so it has it's old charm and quirks, and is a bit rough around the edges, but we think it's beautiful and cozy - see the pictures! There is NO AC or TV, but there is good Wifi. This house is Erica’s primary home, and in wanting to share it's beauty, she hands it over to visitors in the Summer, while she and her cat and dog move into the barn loft above her metal studio, where she focuses on her full time metal craft business. Contact is advised prior to booking to assure latest updates in availability!
In the attached post and beam barn is a well appointed metal shop, available upon request for lessons on welding and metalworking. She also offers a 10% discount off our handmade wares to guests and their friends & family, purchased at the house or at her website.
