The cabin was absolutely stunning and had eye-catching vintage decor everywhere you looked. We had an awesome stay and got to enjoy a night of campfire pies, cards, and drinks around the fire pit. Beds were cozy and amenities plentiful. Thank you for making our trip amazing!
The cabin was a peaceful, quiet place to stay near Fife Lake, near Traverse City. There were many beautiful walking trails right around the corner, and the cabin itself was warm, inviting, and loved the vibe and decor. I had the best night's sleep!!! The hosts were always available with any questions about the area and the cabin itself. I would love to come again and recommend for a peaceful, beautiful get-away in the woods!!!
Its a very secluded area but i was not disappointed at all, everything was so cozy and i loved the area. The host was amazing as well. They made sure our stay was okay during it.
Very nice, quaint “hunters” cabin. Great location. We loved the old pictures and decor. Nothing fancy but very kitschy and quiet location. Great place to sit by the fire.
Liked: Cleanliness, amenities, property conditions & facilities, communication
We absolutely loved the cabin. It was so peaceful. The location is outstanding. The cabin is equipped with everything you need. It was so cozy! 10/10 We can’t wait to come back!
My husband and I stayed here with our son. The log cabin is lovely - rustic and chic - and the lot is in a beautiful wooded area. Quiet, peaceful. We opened the windows and slept like stones.
This lovely cabin near Fife Lake is the perfect retreat for a rustic but comfortable stay. The owner was easy to contact and very pleasant. I was sorry when it was time to leave.
LOVE this cabin in the woods. Perfect getaway to unplug and enjoy the scenery. The cabin is clean and has all the basics to enjoy a stay. Remote, yet close to everything. It is a perfect jumping off point for adventures around Northern Michigan. Great for couples or girls getaways. The cabin is very vintage which is exactly what we wanted. Great Stay and Wonderful host!
Rustic, charming log cabin "up north". Has everything we needed. Comfortable bed, nice deck and the "bar" is a hoot. Close to services. Maybe not for everyone but we liked it.
I loved my stay at this very cute and comfortable cabin in a peaceful and quiet wooded area. I was traveling with my dog, Raya, a German Shepherd mix, and she took to the place almost immediately. It is close to several places of interest…I made trips to Charlevoix, Traverse City and Elk Rapids. I loved how dog friendly Elk Rapids was…they have a very nice beach park where my dog and I played for hours, it is a nice little town to walk with my dog, and I can highly recommend Foundry Craft Grillery, as it has great food & drink and the staff doted on Raya (they allow dogs on the patio). Raya and I enjoyed our stay at the cabin very much! Communication was excellent! It all the amenities, it is very clean, and a convenient location. I would definitely stay here again!
This old cabin was very cute, very well decorated, comfortable and in a country setting. I would have to say that if you stay at this cabin, bring extra lighting or a flashlight, although there are multiple lamps it was very dark in there, day and night actually, I had to pull out my phone flashlight multiple times to go through my clothes, to find things and to play a solid game of guess who lol! We loved that you really couldn't see any neighbors from the property and that we felt like we had privacy. About a 30 min trip to TC that was easy driving which was also convenient for us.
The cabin definitely has a back in time vibe. The stove and refrigerator were immaculate and the fire pit was excellent. The host checked in with us via text and was very pleasant. We enjoyed the vintage feel of this sweet cabin, but have a few important notes for improvement: The lighting inside the cabin was very difficult. We enjoyed the well equipped kitchen, but we could barely see what we were doing. I needed to use a flashlight while cooking. A few adjustments for better lighting would not compromise the charm. Although the cabin was clean overall, especially the kitchen, the bathroom rug was dirty. We understand this is a rustic cabin, but those little details would have improved our stay.

Good Morning Melissa, thank you for your review. I think what you may have run into with the lighting is that the switches are all on reinstates to let people set their lighting from soft to bright and they may have been too low in the kitchen. It could be confusing and I apologize, I may need to add that to the help sheet. Apologies also for the rug, my cleaners don't miss much but we all very much appreciate input. Thanks again for the heads up!
Do you want to feel like you are in a log cabin that has a real retro vibe? Well, this is it! Ernest Hemingway or Jim Harrison could have been in a cabin nearby or we could have been renting theirs as that is how it feels to enter this fantastic environment. The hunting/fishing cabin of the past meets a fashionable resort feel from long ago (with today's amenities). So many Objects D'art to look at. Stained glass, gorgeous & sometimes hilarious lamps, fun funky furniture - you name it! Not to mention the cool and cozy little spots around the house and yard. Bistro in the front, campfire pit in the back. Kitchen and dining room and an addition that was fun and functional (the bar really is something truly unique). The description and pictures are spot on. The cabin is close to so much, but far enough away to feel you are "in the woods". There is a reason Carole is a premier host, she provided all the details we needed and checked in on us to make sure we were all set. I would definitely go there again, especially because the changes in the season probably lend itself to changes in what you want to do. Give "Glambin" (Like Glamping, but with a cabin) a try!
LOVED this place! I have stayed at properties owned by Carole previous and each time it is a joy! This cabin is a bit more rustic but the decor is classic and so cute! The location is a great jumping off point for day trips to Traverse City, Grayling, etc. My only suggestions... new shower head and wifi :) We managed great with what was there, but to make it even better those would be the two improvements that would be good :)
Carole the owner was so amazing checking in on us to make sure we had everything we needed. The cabin was super clean and had everything we needed. It was so uniquely decorated and quaint. The only drawback would be for privacy as the only room with walls is the bathroom, but I think you can tell that from all the pictures she has posted which are exactly like it is!! Getting ready for a woman on the tiny bathroom mirror with dim lighting can be a challenge but we made it work. Outside of that if you’re looking for a walk down memory lane with all the old fashioned decor nestled in the woods you will LOVE this place!! It’s right by a trail head so if you like to off road in the trails it’s a perfect spot too!
Great cabin in the woods, perfect for the weekend getaway and close to several lakes for kayaking. Host was great, and very accommodating. Would stay again if in area.
