Holiday house in Tuscany

The holiday house Carpineta Ranch dates back to the seventeenth century and is typical of the rural tradition. It is few kilometres away from Lucca. Surrounded by the green of the Aquilea valley, near the old layout of the Via Francigena and the ruins of the Romanesque Church that overlooks the entire hill, it is a calm and welcoming area, ideal for your spring, summer and summer holidays.
This 110 m2 apartment is on the first floor of the building and sleeps up to 8 people. The kitchen, the sitting room and the dining room are very large and bright; there are two master bedrooms and one double bedroom, as well as double shared bathrooms for the 3 bedrooms. The house owners live upstairs and are at your disposal for any kind of needs.
The swimming pool is few steps away from the main facade and here you can enjoy a beautiful panorama over the valley.
From the garden surrounding the house you can easily reach the forest paths, especially if you want to walk or go for a ride.

Absolutely beautiful property with the most stunning views, and hospitable hosts. The villa was clean, VERY well equipped, well laid out, and the pool was the perfect size. We had the most wonderful stay here, and really appreciated the hard work that Simonetta and Federico put into making our stay so memorable. We have already been planning our next stay!

Paradiso

Paradiso! A beautiful rustic and spacious house in tranquil and beautiful surroundings with a magnificent view and lovely pool. Definitely worth travelling down the gravelly road to get to. Mattia and his parents are very friendly and helpful. Highly recommended. We had a marvellous week with right balance of relaxing and sight seeing.

Beautiful idyll with perfect hosts

The place is magical and beautifully located in the mountains of Lucca. The road is a bit adventurous, but the view from the house makes up for everything. And above all, the peace and quiet is wonderful. The hosts are warm people who took care of all needs. We enjoyed unforgettable moments with them that we still look back on our vacation today. It is precisely the artistic flair that makes this stay so special. Our two children also felt very comfortable and we also enjoyed Lucca with its special flair. We will come again.

Stunning location with lovely hosts near beautiful Lucca

Oh my goodness - where to begin?! The view from the house is absolutely stunning. It was the perfect hilltop getaway for our family to enjoy the pool, the food, the sun and lots of rest and relaxation. An added bonus was the presence of some friendly dogs, cats and horses! But probably the highlight of it all was the wonderful hosts, Frederico and Simonata and their son Mattia with his wife Michelle. They couldn’t have been more helpful, kind and friendly. House was rustic, quirky and full of character due to its age. This also meant it might be difficult for anyone with mobility issues or accessibility needs: lots of internal steps in random places. No a/c - so very hot in summer but with a nice pool to cool down in. Accessing the home did involve a long and challenging drive down a winding gravel track after having ascended a narrow, winding mountain road - it’s not for the faint-hearted or nervous drivers! All that said, for us it was amazing. It’s also in a great location for exploring Lucca, Pisa and the surrounding area. Our hosts went above and beyond in welcoming us, and we discovered a shared love of music and animals. It was the highlight of a three week French/Italian holiday.

Fantastic stay in the Tuscan Countryside

We had a fantastic stay and were made to feel very welcome by the lovely hosts. This is a truly authentic Tuscan house set in the Tuscan hills, with beautiful scenery and views all round. The house is a rustic gem. We all loved the pool and eating al fresco under the pergola. The road down to the villa is steep and rough in places...so possibly not suitable for nervous drivers.

Einsam und doch mittendrin

Das Haus liegt so abgelegen, dass das Navi die Adresse nicht findet. Die Straße dorthin führt über sehr enge und kurvige Schotterstraße. Die Geschichte mit dem Navi ist besonders zu erwähnen, da wir mit VW Bus und Anhänger anreisten und mehrmals die Fahrten abbrechen und umkehren mussten, da die Straßen zu eng wurden. (Häuserwände, Abgrund) Dafür ist man ganz für sich. Uns hat besonders gefallen, dass der Pool direkt vorm Haus war und genossen morgens, mittags und nachts die Abkühlung dort drin. Wie sind mit 2 Erwachsenen und 6 Kindern angereist und für alle war Platz. Im untenliegenden Ort ist ein großer Supermarkt, der alle Wünsche erfüllt. Die Besitzer wohnen auch mit im Haus und sind besonders freundlich und zuvorkommend. Es war ein schöner Urlaub.

A wonderful vacation

The house was amazingly beautifully located. It was situated in a very green, quite and secluded area. The hosts and their family were incredibly helpful and generous. We got all the instructions and help we needed and we felt so welcome!!!. It worked very well without AC even though the weather was very warm. It was only to keep the windows shut during the day. The pool was very nice and clean. A 4WD car may facilitate the last part of the journey to and from the house. The whole family would love to come back to this place! I highly recommend this house!

Erholung pur

Wer einen ruhigen Urlaub, fernab vom Trubel der Zivilisation genießen möchte, ist hier sehr gut aufgehoben. Lediglich die ca. 1km lange Schotterzufahrt ist etwas abenteuerlich. Familie Cambetti/Baldisserri sind sehr nette und zuvorkommende Gastgeber. Das alte Bauernhaus ist urig und sauber und der Pool ausreichend, da ausschließlich für die Hausgäste konzipiert. Lucca ist mit dem Auto in 20 Minuten zu erreichen. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und konnten herrlich entspannen.

Une parenthèse au paradis

Nous avons séjourné chez Simonetta et Federico pendant 2 semaines en Aout. L’appartement est exactement comme decrit, il y a beaucoup d’espace et il est tres bien équipe. Nous n’avons manqué de rien. Le paysage et l’environnement sont magnifiques et permettent une vraiz connexion avec la nature. L’acces de la maison se fait par un chemin caillouteux mais carrossable et entretenu. Les hotes Federico et Simonetta sont aux petits soins tout en respesctant notre intimité. Nous avons eu l’opportunité de partager des repas typiquement italien avec eux. Et j’ai meme fait un cours de cuisine avec Federico. Ils sont d’une gentillesse assez peu commune, nos filles ont adoré l’endroit. Nous avons pu rayonner pour visitier la region et egalement faire de jolies promenades ou aooer a la plage. Tput est tres vige a cessbile tout en etant isolé. Bref nous avons adoré notre séjour. Si vous cherchez un endroit calme et relaxant c’est la bonne adresse. Le combo ideal pour les vacances reussies. Merci infiniment à Simonetta et Federico

Very enjoyable holiday!

Amazing views and lovely rustic old building with plenty of charm. Fredrico and Siminetta couldn't have been more friendly and helpful throughout our fortnight stay. Our two grandchildren practically lived in the out door swimming pool.

Roligt feriehus men vanskeligt tilgængeligt

Vi var to familier med i alt 8 personer. Det var lidt for mange. Værtsparret er meget søde og hjælpsomme. Vær opmærksomme på, at huset at vanskeligt at komme til. Grusvejen er meget stejl og gruset løst. Den egner sig kun til 4-hjulstrækker. Det gjorde, at vi ikke kom ligeså meget ud i området som vi havde håbet.

Awesome getaway in the middle of Italy/nowhere

It took a few days to settle in but then it was beautifully quite & fantastic views all around...you did not see the family who lived there unless you wanted to, they where absolutely wonderful people. Fredrico the owner spoke no English & I spoke no Italian but we hit it off & understood each other completely & his wife & sons where lovely...what a laugh we had,it was nice looking around the local area but always great to get back to the ranch...so relaxing & chilltastic. Would I go there again...ho yes but I would fly not drive.. Terry Jones Ps. Thanks to the family for making us feel at home x

Amazing setting, beautifully furnished and hosts couldn't have been more helpful

The owners and their family ( and pets) couldn't have been more lovely and helpful and this contributed to make it a perfect week. The property itself was characterful and beautifully furnished. The surrounding countryside was stunning and if you have the energy then a mountain bike ride to nearby villages is well worth it (and easier than driving a large vehicle round the numerous hairpin bends.) We were glad we had stocked up on the way at Essenlunga in the nearby town of Marlia as we could then relax around the villa for the first few days. Overall it was an amazing holiday - complete with our first sighting of fireflies and eagles..

A wonderful property full of rustic charm with stunning views!

We had the most fantastic week. Do not be put off by the gravel road leading to Carpineta Ranch it is worth the adventure! It is also worth mentioning the supermarket in Marlia which is very handy for stocking up on provisions for the week. This location offered us the perfect place to explore and relax. The property itself is very comfortable and well equipped with plenty of room for all 7 of us. Outside in the grounds and by the pool you are treated to the most spectacular views. Evening meals spent outside at the large dining table accompanied by the sound of crickets were especially memorable. In terms of venturing out, the town of Lucca is very near by and with some research we visited nearby mountain villages plus a day trip to Florence. Trains run half hourly from Lucca and take around an hour 30 mins. Simply taking a mountainside walk to the nearby church ruin has rewarding views. The owners Simonetta, Frederico and family are charming, warm and fun. They couldn't help us enough. (They are not fluent English speaking - members of our party did speak Italian and French which helps) plus their dogs Buck and Freda - and the cat - are very friendly too! We would definitely visit again and cannot thank them enough for their hospitality. A truly Italian experience!

Exactly the holiday we were looking for

Beautiful!

We spent a wonderful 6 nights at Carpineta Ranch and loved everything about it. The house is rustic, full of character and very well equipped. I was a bit worried about not having air con but the air in the mountains was cooler and made for comfortable sleeping also helped by comfortable beds and lovely crisp fresh bedding. Great pool, lovely garden, stunning views. The owners were very welcoming and helpful but do not speak much English so brush up on your Italian or Spanish!

Magnificent views, quiet and relaxing

A typically rustic Tuscan farmhouse, set in the hills, only 20 minutes from Lucca. Whole family made us feel very welcome. The views from the pool were amazing, so peaceful, we didn't want to go anywhere!
