The property was great! We would highly recommend staying. The grill was out of propane and Wade immediately came and replaced it. The hot tub was so nice with a good view.
This is probably one of the best glamping stays i have ever booked. It’s exactly what I imagined my grown-up treehouse would look like as a kid. We would definitely stay again, and are very excited to come back! Check in was just pulling up to our “home away from home” as it was easy to spot from the main driveway. We spent every evening grilling on the deck, watching the stars from our swinging day-bed, and relaxing in the hottub after a long day of hiking or exploring lakes nearby. The town is so cute with a river winding through it, and had several dining options. Wade and Patricia were so kind and offered to let us check out some of the other sites that weren’t booked and they all are so great. I had no idea there were so many! You won’t regret staying here. Even being 80 degrees during the day, it cooled off every night so we didn’t even use the air unit in the tent.
Wonderful place! It was very clean and decorated so cute. Had everything we needed for a comfortable and peaceful stay. Hosts were very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend!
2nd time staying here. In between I stayed somewhere else in the Black Hills just to be near different parks, but I missed this place.

The BlueBird Nest was great! Don’t hesitate to stay here! So peaceful and quiet. Beautiful drive up to the site. Everything pictured was accurate and I didn’t want to leave when my time was up.
Celebrating our 45th anniversary at Wade and Patricia’s get away was perfect! The glamping experience exceeded our expectations providing a peaceful and beautiful 3 days. We loved it!
This little place is a slice of heaven. This was my first VRBO experience and my first "glamping" experience and this exceeded my expectations. The drive up to the site is beautiful and the hot tub at night under the stars is divine. I will be back very soon!

Such a lovely and unique stay. The deck lounge area was so comfortable and the tent stayed cool and comfortable throughout the hot summer day/night. Great stay just outside of town, where you can have a quiet stay and star gaze.
My husband and I had an incredible stay here! We were able to enjoy some beautiful hikes and delicious restaurants in the hills and then come back to this piece of heaven and really relax and enjoy the peace and quiet!
Wade and Patricia are excellent hosts and the Blue Bird is a sweet little nugget just close enough to explore the local attractions but far enough to be secluded and peaceful. We will be back again. This was our second visit to Evan's Cliff and are always pleased.
The Bluebell Nest was a great place to stay. The property was amazing and clean. The location was perfect to drive up to Custer and Wind Cave park to do hiking. We would stay here again when we come back to the Black Hills area.
Overall, the property was cozy and very true to the listing images. Hosts were great! Quick to respond and friendly. The only downfall was that it wasn't as private as it seemed on the listing.
Was better than we expected just what we needed to unwind you have a wonderful place we will be booking for next year and telling everyone about your place

About the host
Hosted by Wade and Patricia Evans
We are a product of on online dating. Patricia moved from MN to the Northern Hills in 1979. Wade was born in Spearfish, but was living in Colorado, counting days until the next time he could get back the 'The Hills'.
Why they chose this property
When we found the property online, we fell in love with the house... and Wade the shop. But after we came to see it in person and walked to the cliff... well, it was just amazing. You have to see it in person to understand. Everyday, we tell our 2 dogs and 2 cats, 'we are going to the cliff' and we all take a hike together, stopping just to sit and look. Seems like every hike, we see something new, we never noticed before. So nice here, we had our wedding at the cliff edge in 2012. We have a hard time figuring out where to 'go' for a vacation... we feel we are living in our perfect vacation spot and now we have discovered that we really enjoy sharing our favorite spot and the chance to meet new friends in the process.
What makes this property unique
We want every guest to feel right at home and provide everything you could ever need. We treat our guests as family... that traveled from across the country and have what they need to relax and prepare for the best vacation possible. We know most families only get 1 or 2 vacations a year, we are very honored to be a part of that experience.
