Just stayed at this property for 10 days and everything about it was amazing! Everything was as advertised and with zero complaints we will hopefully be returning next summer when visiting family!!
Perfect lakeside property for our 3 week stay. It was everything we hoped for and a true home from home. Comfortable, well-furnished and stylish, everything the listing promised. We would thoroughly recommend
This charming cottage on the lake was everything we hoped for. Great location, lovely decor and all the amenities anyone would want. The owner was very helpful. I highly recommend this property.
This is our second stay at Janette's wonderful property. It is exactly as described and has everything you'd need. Unfortunately this time the area experienced unexpected flooding and the late overflowed its banks and came really close to getting in the cottage. We were in constant touch with Janette and she did everything thing she could to ensure our trip was still an enjoyable time. We'll be back next year!
We rented Jeannette’s amazing cottage for a week to reunite with our son and his wife who live in the Halifax area. Our other son and his wife who are also from Ontario but live 3 hours away joined us as well. It’s was four years since we were together and we had a blast!! The cottage far exceeded our expectations, it was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed for a wonderful family visit. We enjoyed meals on the deck, swimming, playing games, sightseeing and just relaxing on the dock getting reacquainted. Jeannette was very accommodating to make sure we had everything we needed for a memorable family vacation. We are hoping to revisit next year. We would hands down definitely recommend this cottage on the lake.
My Mom and I spent just over a week at this Lake side home and loved every minute. The house was cozy, clean and came with everything..The location was perfect… you not only had your own little slice of heaven… you have easy access to anywhere you needed to be!! Thank you Jeannette for everything!!
The moment we arrived we were welcomed by Jeanette and felt very much at home with our surroundings. The house is warm, clean, well furnished and very comfortable. We had all the amenities to cook thanksgiving dinner, and enjoyed camp fires by the waterfront. This is a place we will return to.
This is a beautiful property on Lake Fletcher. The house has everything you need, even a laundry room. The sunsets were spectacular and the owner, Jeanette is very easy to communicate with. I highly recommend staying here.
The minute we walked into the Lake house we felt right at home. The setting and grounds are beautiful and the cottage (and kitchen) is well equipped. We spent many hours outside enjoying the ever changing scenery on the lake, including a few families of ducks and beautiful sunsets. The location is very convenient to grocery stores, restaurants, larger shopping areas etc. Thank you Jeannette for a wonderful stay!
Beautiful property and deck to overlook lake and sunsets. House fully set up to help use deal with young baby with washer/dryer, dishwasher, air conditioning. Friends from Halifax could come and visit easily and near public golf courses.
My family had a wonderful stay by the lake. We had everything we could need and more. It was very comfortable (beds were great), clean and a warm and relaxing spot. The gardens are also stunning! My son spent many hours in the sandbox and by the water and my husband made us beautiful meals in the well equipped kitchen. Communication with the host was also wonderful. We will definitely be back! Thank you!
We had such a wonderful stay! The cottage is absolutely beautiful. We stayed for two weeks and it wasn’t long enough. Jeanette was incredible and only a text away if we needed anything. Our check in was probably the easiest check in we’ve had. We can’t wait to return to this little piece of heaven.

a quiet oasis only minutes from Halifax....
cannot say enough good descriptors of this home. It is a beautiful well stocked oasis on a stunning lake front. Its stylish, well loved and well cared for.....this is the full package. My husband and I stayed there for a week--and didn't want to leave. The front door is steps from the water with a magnificent view lending itself to early am calm and an eventual gorgeous sunset. There is also a front and side lawn with a great play area which occupied two preschoolers as well as a huge deck for eating all of your meals outside while the children play. At days end, you can go down to the dock, watch the sun go down and count your blessings for this experience. Would highly recommend this as a place to stay for any age group including young families; grandparents or even younger people who want to enjoy the outside yet be minutes from all that Halifax as to offer. It would make a great honeymoon destination. Further...grocery store, gas bar and liquor store are all close by and accessible. This is eastern Canada with all of its charm at its very best. The owner outdoes herself in making you her house into your home. Give it all the STARS!

A memorable vacation and a great location
We enjoyed our stay at this cottage. The lake is lovely with pretty sunsets over the water. It was easy to launch our boat and Jeannette's kayaks and we could jump into the lake right off the dock. The surrounding area is well worth exploring, full of lakes and parks and trails. There are two good restaurants nearby and a large grocery and pharmacy as well. The airport is near and it's just 25 minutes to downtown Halifax. Easy to access, close to the road and yet it is quiet and private. The house is small but the kitchen, deck, dock and grounds are spacious. The air conditioning was good and Jeannette was readily available when we needed her. She refunded our sizeable deposit promptly.

Beautiful lakefront property
Our family of four had a great stay at this home. The property is gorgeous and very private. Our kids (6 and 4) swam in the lake and we also enjoyed the kayaks that were available. The sauna was an added bonus. The home came supplied with everything we needed from towels to condiments to laundry facilities. The location was nice as we could zip into town in 20 minutes, or just head 5 min up the road to the grocery store. We would definitely consider staying here again!

About the host

I have lived in many provinces across Canada and visited many countries and loved them all. When I arrived in Nova Scotia about 30 ago I had a very intense feeling that I really belonged here. Coming from Norwegian roots I can relate well to this maritime province.
Why they chose this property
I have enjoyed living in this home for over 20 years. From the moment I stepped into the yard I knew that this place was special. It exudes a calming and peaceful vibe. This is meant to be shared. I want everyone to experience this energy and the joy that comes with being here.
What makes this property unique
I feel very privileged to live so close to the ocean and yet live right On this beautiful peaceful lake playground. In July the water is a wonderful temperature that I could swim and float in for hours. In February the lake freezes (usually) and skating or skiing is great. The large landscaped yard is perfect for a game of crochet or volleyball. This place has it all and yet is so close to everything else Nova Scotia has to offer.
