About this property

Design Holiday Apartment in the center of Chiavenna

Elvezia La Specola is an apartment on the first floor of the historic building known in Chiavenna as "La Specola".
In the late nineteenth century, this characteristic house was built as a hotel and was given the name "Elvezia La Specola".
Our grandfather Giuseppe became the owner of the house in the early forties, and since then it has been our family home. The ground floor has now been converted into a great fresh pasta store and a well known Winery.
We wish to welcome you in the apartment facing south, which was completely renovated in 2015 and consists of a kitchen area and living room, a double room and another double room on the mezzanine, a bathroom with shower, and a terrace. We offer free Wi-Fi.
On the ground floor there is a laundry room. A communal courtyard is available for parking your car, as well as a common area garden.
Our house is centrally located, within walking distance from the station and the famous "Crotti". The ideal place to stay in Chiavenna and visit the montains and lakes in the area.

Second time as good as the first

This was our second stay at this property in Chiavenna and it did not disappoint. The apartment is clean and close to everything. Communication and check in with the property owner is seamless. We arrived by train and the apartment is literally right near the train station. We will look forward to our next stay! Grazie Paolo!

The Perfect Space

The apartment in Chiavenna was perfect. Just about 50 yards from the train station, which was perfect because we arrived by train and we did don’t have a car. However, there is parking available. Close to hiking trails and many restaurants and shops. Paolo was great to deal with. Any questions we had, his response was prompt. We enjoyed our stay in Chiavenna and look forward to a return visit in the future and I would definitely look into staying at Paolo’s apartment again.

Sehr sauberes Appartment, wenige Gehminuten von der Fußgängerzone. Alles vorhanden was man benötigt. Allerdings tagsüber viel Verkehr vor dem Haus aber nachts war es ruhig.

Zentral und alles da

Bis auf einen Wasserkocher haben wir nichts vermisst: Super Küchenausstattung, zentrale Lage (Bus und Bahn vor der Haustüre, aber auch eigener Parkplatz), Pasta und Wein kann man direkt im EG einkaufen, Stadt mit Läden und Supermarkt fußläufig erreichbar.

Schöne Tage in Chiavenna

Eine sehr schöne Wohnung, mit grandioser Bergsicht, gut ausgestattet; die Bahnhofsnähe war für uns perfekt, weil wir öffentlich unterwegs waren, und nachts von der Lautstärke her überhaupt kein Problem. Wir haben unseren Vermieter zwar leider nicht persönlich kennengelernt, hatten aber einen netten und informativen WhatsApp-Austausch.

Die Wohnung in Chiavenna war optimal für uns, schön eingerichtet, alles neu, gut ausgestattet, besonders auf dem kleinen Balkon konnten wir die Abendsonne genießen. On s'y sent bien

Idéal pour 3 personnes. Très bien meublé, très propre et équipements modernes avec tout le nécessaire pour la cuisine. En plus, de nombreuses attentions qui permettraient de préparer un repas sans même faire des courses. Merci à Paolo. A signaler toutefois : quand les fenêtres sont ouvertes, le bruit des autos et des motos. Le vasistas de la mezzanine est un peu petit pour bien rafraichir l'air l'été et il y fait chaud la nuit.
