About this property
Sunset Family House on Kamares Bay with Playground
A genuine 1895 cycladic stone house completely renovated to its former glory in Kamares Bay, Sifnos Island's port. Its large yards and shaded outdoor spaces with panoramic views of the sea distinguish it from other homes. In the garden, there is a playground for children. This charming home is ideal for couples, families and friends who appreciate authenticity and enjoy relaxing with a drink as the sun sets.
The house was among the first on Kamares Bay. It has been preserved in order to maintain its original cycladic architectural style while providing all modern amenities.
Up until 1960, my grandfather, the well-known Greek painter and cartoonist Stamatis Polenakis, gradually added more rooms and terraces. A well-planned, well-designed home with lovely indoor and outdoor living spaces and picturesque spots for dining, relaxing, or entertaining.
The house is located near the port and has a panoramic view of Kamares Bay as well as a large outdoor space with a garden and beautiful vegetation.
A two-minute walk takes you to the beach and restaurants.
There are three bedrooms in the family house.
Every bedroom has a sea view, top-of-the-line mattresses, and brand-new beds. The first room, located on the main floor, has a double bed and a single bed. The second bedroom, located on the main floor, has two single beds that can be combined to form a queen-sized bed (with no gaps). The third room, located on the first floor, has a double bed. Two of the bedrooms have air conditioning, and the living room's air conditioning also cools the third bedroom.
It has a toilet and a bathroom. There is also a single garden shower, which is ideal for a quick shower after swimming.
It has a smart TV in the living room , laundry machine, dish washer, fully equipped kitchen, High speed wifi.
The main house has two entrances, giving visitors more privacy choices.
The house has a parking lot.
There is a separate tiny house for two guests on the same plot of land next to the family house.

About the host
Hosted by Alina
My name is Alina Valvi and I live in Athens, the capital of Greece. I love to travel, I love to meet people and I love art and movies. Most of all I love to return to Sifnos every summer and even more often if I can!
Why they chose this property
I spend all my summers since I have been 7 months old in this amazing place. I go every summer and at Easter time as well which is really beautiful and green! Through the years I have visited many Islands but Sifnos is one of the most beautiful Islands that holds on tradition and hospitality. In 2017 I have fully renovated my house and you can find all modern comforts but still feel the character and beauty of Cycladic simplicity and unique style. I am sure you will love it as much as I do.
What makes this property unique
All the rooms have sea view and each veranda becomes a cozy corner depending on the direction of the wind and the time of the day. There is a beautiful garden/playground with an old pine tree. You can stay outdoors all day long since you can find shades and relax with privacy and peace. Still you know that everything you need is within two minutes walk away! Many times I stay in (and out) of the house for days since I have everything I need! The sea and the sunset just in front of my eyes!
