Fiery Peak Eco-Retreat with Stargazing & Wood-fired hot tub
Fiery Peak Eco-Retreat - Our luxury eco-accommodation for couples - set on our rural, forested property just 10mins from Geraldine.
Gaze at the mountains from the king bed through open bi-fold windows, take a long soak in the handcrafted (Lignum) woodfired hot tub, gaze at the splendour of a sky full of stars, listen to bird song, BBQ your dinner on the deck while you watch the sun go down behind Fiery Peak, linger while the sky changes colour and ducks fly home for the night, recharge your soul, take a plunge in our spring fed natural pool. "One night is never enough"
The wood-fired hot tub can be booked as an extra ($60 first night, $20 - 2nd & 3rd night). Cleaned between guests, filled with our fresh unchlorinated, UV filtered spring water and then heated to 40 degrees for your arrival.
Let me know if you would like to book the tub and you can just bring cash with you for payment.
Built in 2022, the Fiery Peak Eco-Retreat 66 sqm cabin has been designed with the environment in mind. Powered by the sun, supplied with our own pristine spring water (UV filtered, unchlorinated), set amongst 12 acres of trees: this beautiful open-plan cabin looks out across farmland to the mountains. Your time at the cabin will allow you to disconnect from the stresses of life, and reconnect with the beauty of a natural environment. We are wifi and screen free so that you can take the opportunity to disconnect from modern technology and reconnect with your partner and a natural environment.

Such a delightful stay in a beautiful accommodation and peaceful location! We loved watching the birds from the deck and were far enough from town to feel like we were in our own world, but close enough to quickly get to town or drive to Mt. Cook. Eco-friendly and pampering, we’d stay again in a heartbeat!

Had a beautiful time staying at Fiery Peak! Even with some not-so-great weather, we had an incredible time. Lovely views, wonderful hosts, amazing view of the stars, and a killer hot tub - absolutely recommend staying here.
Thanks for memorable Easter stay Kay. It was peaceful, relaxing and we enjoyed the lovely views of the Three Peaks. The waterslide was fun ! I think we will come back !
We had the most amazing stay at The Retreat. Every detail was thoughtfully curated to create a peaceful and romantic atmosphere. The hot tub was a highlight - soaking under the stars with a crystal-clear view of the Milky Way was absolutely magical. Each night felt like a dream. The fireplace added a cozy, romantic vibe, and we loved the little touches like candles, aromatherapy supplies, and board games - everything we needed to truly relax and switch off. The space was beautifully designed and incredibly comfortable.A huge thank you to Kay for her fantastic communication and support throughout our stay. We felt so well looked after. Highly recommend this beautiful spot for anyone looking to unwind and reconnect with nature (and each other!).
Thank you so much Kay. The cottage was more than we could have imagined. So many thoughtful touches and delicious breakfast provisions. Loved the fairy lights and lanterns!!! The kids absolutely adored the sawdust toilet experience 😊. Will be recommending. We wished we had at least one more night. Stars were outstanding. Thank you so much xxx
Gorgeous location. Lovely wee cottage, very clean and well appointed. Kay is a wonderful host, appeared with fresh plums off her tree and a friendly chat. Breakfast was devine. Teenage and preteen kids didn’t even care there was no WiFi or power. Just mooched around exploring and lying in hammock talking to each other! Shame it was only one night! Will be back. Thank you
We really enjoyed our time at the Fiery Peak Chalet. Great place to un-plug and unwind and enjoy time with loved ones. We enjoyed use of the hot tub and star gazing in the evenings. Definitely recommend. Kay was great in communication and quick to respond to any inquires.
Was a wonderful place to stay, Kay the host was amazing and great to deal with. The kids had a blast with all the games and toys and we will definitely be back 😊
It was a very pleasant experience for city people like us. Sitting in the outdoor hot tub and star gazing was a once in a lifetime must try. Kay was so kind to lit the fire place for us and it's easy to keep it going. Sleeping with a fire place going was better than the heater. We even cooked our eggs on it and it's perfect. All our breakfast were homemade and the muesli was divine! I guess the only issue for me was no running hot water for wash in the morning but Kay promised that next time when we come back, the mod con will be there! We are so looking forward to come back again and definitely will stay longer!
Our stay was exactly what we needed - an escape from the stresses of modern life, with ample time to laze around in beautiful surroundings with our own private hot tub reading and relaxing. Geraldine township is a short drive away if you're wanting to look around and browse some stores and such. The Eco toilet was a novelty to us, and we were pleasantly surprised with it (no odor at all). The breakfast supplies provided by Kay were a lovely treat, and Kay herself was a friendly host, even bringing us her spare cellphone with some beautiful playlists loaded up and linked to a bluetooth speaker to provide a lovely soundtrack to our stay.
Off the grid couldn’t have been better just what we wer after!! Loved the hot tub and fire place !!! We played cards with the fairy lights lightning up was like a magical retreat we felt so spoilt breakfast was amazing freash bread eggs yummm!!! Highly recommend!!!!!
Wonderful little eco-friendly cottage off the beaten track in a beautiful rural setting. Generous breakfast supplies and all the necessities provided in a refreshing back to basics way. Will definitely be back.
What an absolute little treasure! We spent just one cosy night here but could have stayed longer. The breakfast supplied is amazing and the late check out time is awesome. Crank the fire back up in the morning and enjoy a leisurely second breakfast cooked in your own rustic little kitchen (there's so much we couldn't finish it!). Kay's communication is spot on and she and her hubby have thought of everything. Extra solar lights and some great playlists supplied, lots of cosy blankets and a the telescope to view the amazing night sky. Would highly recommend this gorgeous little cottage!
Beautiful little spot! Quirky with it being off grid. Delicious breakfast thank you. Would highly recommend the cottage and we'd go back again. Thank you!
It was so refreshing different but an awesome getaway

Delightful hosts
Beautiful setting, mountain views and peace.
Would probably be enjoyed by and more appropriate for younger people. We struggled with the overcast and rainy weather too so maybe it would be easier in late spring, summer and early autumn. Not sure that all of the cottage meets health and safety guidelines
Thank you so much Kay for all the thoughtful touches including home-made yoghurt, bread, eggs, butter, jam, bacon, juice. You looked after us so well while giving us all the privacy we needed. We want to come back next year!
Despite the owner's advice to use Google maps, we arrived at the wrong end of the farmland property, but fortunately encountered the owner returning home. There is a gentle uphill walk from the carpark of about 300 footsteps (and a shorter but more steep one), just be aware, but once you arrive, the space is beautifully decorated, with comfortable beds. Note the lack of electricity and flush toilet (but the saw dust toilet works very well). Also hot water must be stove heated. Populated sheep feeds on two sides. Terrific breakfast offerings to start your day. Thanks Kay and Keith!

Off the grid- in the BEST way!
Different houses have their own vision of healthy, homey and off the grid. But this is for real!! No electricity (but plenty of battery powered light) and a simple feeling of home. The entrance was still under construction for our stay, But don’t let that detour you! If anything it made the place more charming! Kay and her husband were great hosts and had awesome stories to share. Such an excellent rejuvenating stay.

Simplicity and Stillness
This is the place for you if you want to detox from your world of 'busy'. With its comfortable and cosy accommodation, you can be creatively inspired or just relax into the stillness of the setting. No stars for us the night we stayed due to the rain but the fire worked its magic anyway. Kay has thought of everything to make your stay something special. Jackie and Louise from Cranio onTour will be stopping here again on their next road trip!
