Il Nido Bianco (the white nest) is situated on the first floor of a Medieval building in the heart of the historic centre of Vicopisano.

Located close to Pisa, Lucca and Florence, the property is ideally located and offers the perfect base for touring Tuscany.

Nido Bianco is ideally situated and is just a short stroll away from the village square and all its amenities.

PROPERTY DESCRIPTION
The property offers stylish contemporary interiors, free WiFi and laundry facilities - in addition the apartment retains original features such as lofty beamed ceilings with views over terracotta roofs and Medieval towers.

MEDIEVAL OPEN PLAN LIVING
This studio apartment is both perfectly and cleverly designed providing both living and sleeping zones in one open plan space with large airy windows. The interiors are mainly white and neutrals which offer a cool/fresh ambiance.

Enter the apartment into a small entrance lobby with views over the terracotta roofs and Brunelleschi's Watch Tower

SLEEPING/LOUNGING SPACE
Here you will find comfortable Queen size bed dressed with fresh white linens and there is a romantic white curtain which separates the sleeping and dining zone. There is a cozy sofa for two and a satellite TV in this zone

DINING AND KITCHEN ZONE
The cooking zone is perfectly designed with a cooking hob, oven and fridge. The fully equipped space means you are able to prepare and cook delicious Tuscan meals at home. A dining table designed for four offers romantic comfortable dining for two!

BATHROOM
The contemporary bathroom has the highest quality fixture and fittings and offers a WC, hand basin and shower with cubicle.

PRIVATE GARDEN
The garden like the apartment is a romantic nest for two! The garden is at the rear of the building with easy access from your apartment. The garden has a gazebo, plus table and chairs for outside dining, it's a great spot to have morning breakfast or pre - dinner drinks. The property owner has planted fresh herbs, strawberries and tomatoes which our solely for our guests.

There is a free car park just 120 meters away. The car park is for available for the residents of the historic center.
Access to the property is via a large entrance into a communal hallway - then there are 11 stairs to access your private entrance.

The Italy of my dreams

Nido Bianco was everything I hoped it would be. We traveled all over Italy and Vicopisano is where we loved most. The village was amazing and friendly, the home was clean and fully stocked with what we needed. If you are looking for a relaxing environment, then this location is it. It is away from all the busy tourist attractions, but still close enough to visit those places. I can't wait until next time!

For the first time in Tuscany at this lovely address in a lively and beautiful Vicopisano. The apartment was very good, clean and cozy. Marie was always there for us. She also invited us for a street dinner in Vicopisano where we could literally taste the local atmosphere.

Aufenthalt mit Hund - Schönes Appartement und tolle Gastgeber in malerischen Toskanischem Dorf

Wir haben das Apartment relativ spontan für 8 Nächte gebucht und sind bei Ankunft sehr herzlich empfangen worden. Marie hat sich die Zeit genommen uns den gesamten Ort persönlich zu zeigen und uns somit einen schönen und unbeschwerten Aufenthalt ermöglicht. Das kleine aber sehr gut ausgestattete und gemütliche Apartment bietet alles was man für einen angenehmen Aufenthalt benötigt. Auch die persönlichen Tipps der Gastgeber (gern auch abseits des Haupttourismus der umliegenden Regionen) haben den Aufenthalt bereichert. - Die größeren Städte wie Pisa, Lucca und Florenz sind mit dem Auto oder dem Zug sehr gut zu erreichen. Wunderschöne Wohnung

Sehr saubere Ferienwohnung, zentrale aber ruhige Lage in einem netten Ort. Restaurants und eine Bar fußläufig zu erreichen. Ein hübsches Gartenplätzchen zur alleinigen Nutzung. Küche gut ausgestattet, Bett ist sehr bequem. Das Auto muss ein paar Meter weiter auf einem öffentlichen Parkplatz abgestellt werden, dafür wohnt man ruhig in einer verkehrsarmen Einbahnstraße. Sehr nette hilfsbereite Vermieter, vielen Dank für den schönen Aufenthalt.

A lovely retreat!

Overall, we had a very lovely week. We wanted calm, quiet and peace and the property offered all of this! I loved the sound of the clock tower on the hour and half hour! Only small issues we would suggest is maybe an upgrade on the iron as we did struggle! We mainly lived out of our suitcase as wardrobe space limited but it was fine really. Dear Lou & Phil, Thank you so much for your feedback, we are disappointed that you felt the iron was in need of an upgrade – but had you let us know as we were in touch by email, WhatsApp etc. during your stay, ( the property owner lives onsite and we are a few metres away), we could have provided an updated iron. As for wardrobe space, the antique wardrobe is a very acceptable size for a studio apartment, additionally there was also a chest of drawers, so living out of a suitcase shouldn’t have been necessary. However, we are glad your overall holiday was not spoilt by these problems. We hope you will come back with your friends and perhaps you would like to choose one of the bigger apartments as we do have quite a few! Thank you Marie and Lorenzo

Live like a local

We stayed at Nido Bianco for a few nights and thoroughly enjoyed the apartment and local area. Our hosts Marie and Lorenzo were fantastic and assisted us in planning adventures to an olive grove, wineries and restaurants. We saw them frequently around town and got to spend time with them on our last day in Vicopisano, I feel like we've made friends in Italy! There was a basket of goodies on the counter when we arrived at the apt which wound up being very helpful. Take Marie's offer when she tells you she'll book you dinner - the few restaurants in town fill up quickly and one night we found ourselves cooking at home. This was actually a lovely alternative and we utilized the table in the backyard and relaxed with some wine under the stars while Brenda the family dog kept us company from behind the fence in the yard next door. The apartment has a well equipped kitchen with a washing machine. If you are not familiar with doing laundry in Italy, please note that you must hang your clothes to dry as they do not have clothes dryers. The washing machine in the apt takes pods that you may find under the sink or down at the market in town. Don't bring liquid or powder detergent. The internet was basically non-existent, most of the time the network did not even show up in our wi-fi lists. This is either a really good thing if you are trying to "turn it off" while on vacation, or a bad thing if you need to stay connected. Vicopisano is a beautiful town and was the perfect stop during our Italian vacation. I would also recommend driving over to Buti one evening while staying here. During aperitivo time everyone in town comes together, it felt like a big celebration and there was an amazing amount of delicious food put out by the restaurants in the square.

Schöne Unterkunft im Herzen der Toskana

Die Unterkunft war sehr gemütlich und sauber. Die Wohnung war in einer kleinen Gasse und wir konnten problemlos unser Auto parken. Marie und Lorenzo waren ebenfalls sehr zuvorkommend und hilfsbereit. Darüber hinaus hatte die Wohnung einen kleinen Garten, der ausschließlich von den Mietern des Apartments genutzt werden kann. Für die Lage in einem kleinen Dorf mitten in der "Provinz" haben wir den Preis als sehr hoch empfunden. Auch der Empfangskorb fiel bei uns leider nicht sehr besonders aus. Zusammenfassend eine sehr schöne Wohnung mitten in der Bilderbuch-Toskana mit gehobenem Preisniveau.

An ideal place for 1 or 2 people with all the amenities required to enjoy your stay.

The apartment was fully fitted, and perfect for 1 or 2 people. The welcome pack was a nice touch, and Marie and Lorenzo were really engaging and helpful. The apartment was close to the town centre, and there is a car park 50m away. Vicopisano is a lovely town, with its medieval history, set within the beautiful Tuscan countryside. Major attractions (Pisa, Florence, Sienna, etc) are all within comfortable driving distance, as are other less well known towns, such as Vinci and Volterra. Though I had visited Tuscany a couple of times before, staying in Vicopisano enabled me to easily discover more of this beautiful and intriguing part of Italy. And with the friendly help and advice from Marie and Lorenzo, I had a great vacation.

Beeindruckend Umgebung

Eine sehr schön eingerichtete Wohnung, die kaum Wünsche offen lässt. Zur Einrichtung gehört ein Sofa, ein Doppelbett ( Matratze ist etwas durchgelegen und könnte ausgetauscht werden), eine schöne Küche, eine Waschmaschine und einen Fernseher. Ein kleiner Garten ist ebenfalls schön gestalten und kann genutzt werden. Die Vermieter sind sehr freundlich und immer für einen netten Plausch zu haben. Wir haben unseren Aufenthalt dort sehr genossen.

Five stars are not enough.

I found this by accident after first booking our flights to Florence. What a find. The accommodation was perfect. The property managers and the owner were so friendly and helpful they helped make this holiday a most memorable time. A big thank you goes their way. The people in Vicopisano are friendly and welcoming. The pizzeria ,the butchers and Vecchia Posta are all great places to eat. Ideally placed to visit Lucca, Pisa and Volterra. Best to travel to Florence by train from Pontedera. Highlights were the the wine tour and a visit on foot to the local olive farm. Other guests we met also said the cooking class is excellent .Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Nido Bianco and were impressed by the help and advice and the general welcome we had from the property owner and the property managers. Thank you all again. I would recommend this little gem.

Gorgeous little apartment in a beautiful setting!

My partner and l stayed in this cosy, clean and comfortable apartment. The owner is so helpful and lovely and so were the hosts who assisted with everything. The welcome basket had fresh local produce that we loved. We rode on push bikes through the countryside to nearby towns for coffee, gelato etc. Or you can catch a bus to the train station to visit more of Florence. At night a few doors down is a lovely small restaurant that we could eat at after a day out. Delicious homemade Italian meals and lovely wine! The town is just stunning. The apartment has everything you need. A perfect relaxing magical getaway in a beautiful medieval town. Will return!

It’s always great to know that our little welcome basket is appreciated, it certainly helps when arriving late at night when the shops are closed. It seems that you really did live like a local by getting around on public transport and bikes! As you found Vicopisano is ideally located to visit the must see destinations in Tuscany. I will let the little restaurant down the road know that you enjoyed dining at their place after a day out seeing the sights! Loved living in a part of history.

Welcoming apartment right in the center of the town. Lovely. Perfect for a couple. Everything you needed was supplied including a welcome basket filled with treats as well as local meat and cheese in the fridge and a parking space! Local stores all within walking distance. Great hub for visiting Tuscany - Day trips to Pisa, Lucca, Volterra and Florence. Marie and Lorenzo were just a phone call away and always ready to help or make a suggestion to make our stay better. Favorite part - our Italian cooking lesson with Olimpia, a local chef. It was the "icing on the cake" to our Italy vacation.

The property is owned by a local family who live in part of the restored Medieval building where Nido Bianco is situated.

Husband and wife Patrizia and Carlo have lovingly restored their Medieval home into a stylish comtemporary retreat. Patrizia is an experienced project manager and interior designer who specializes in bathroom and kitchens and Carlo has his own garden furniture business which specializes in hand crafted wooden furniture and garden accessories.

Patrizia and Carlo have two young sons who just love to practice their English language skills so the chances are you may get to meet them on arrival. Brenda the dog is another addition to the family who you may also meet if you take a walk along the country lanes surrounding the village!

The family have enlisted the help of Marie and Lorenzo (pictured) who act as Property Managers for Nido Bianco.

Marie and Lorenzo live in the village and know the area well. They are experienced English speaking Property Managers who will process your initial enquiry right up to your arrival and as they live just 20 meters away they are available for support during your stay should you need them.
