Eight Mile Creek near Port Mac-Donnell is truly an undiscovered treasure of beautiful beaches and amazing water views at the gateway to the Great Ocean Road. Situated 20kms south of the city of Mount Gambier in South Australia's Limestone Coast. 450km south east of Adelaide and 460km west of Melbourne.

With stunning 180 degree ocean views from all bedrooms,living areas and literally a hop, skip and jump to the dunes.

Direct beach access.

"On The Beach " is on over an acre of absolutely beach front land consisting of four bedrooms all with robes, master with en suite, main 2 bedrooms with queen size 4 poster beds & couches, gourmet kitchen with stone & marble bench-tops, dishwasher and walk in pantry.
Featuring high raked ceilings in the dining and lounge rooms with zoned heating and cooling.
Huge dining area & lounges easily accommodating ten people.
Also the 2 & 1/2 bathrooms will service a couple of families.

There is much to see and do on the Limestone coast of South Australia relatively close to Eight Mile Creek such as : sink holes, volcanoes, forests, caves, wineries , blue lakes, swimming & fishing to mention just a few.

Have a wonderful stay & please ensure children are supervised especially around water & that the gates are closed with a view to keeping all the little ones safe.

We had such a great stay! The house was super clean, spacious, and really comfortable — it felt like a home away from home. Made lots of memories with families. The ocean views were amazing, and the host was so friendly and accommodating. Communication was excellent from start to finish. Would definitely stay here again!

Such a cool spot. Direct access to the beach and some amazing stuff to do close by. Recommend Ewan’s Pond - great fresh water snorkel. You can hire gear (wetsuits etc) from Allendale General Store. Jumping into Little Blue lake also a highlight. Get there early (9am) for the lake to yourself. It was a fantastic house for 2 families. Plenty of living space. Everything in the house was great quality and the showers were incredible. The view from bed and the kitchen is just spectacular. Great house. Highly recommend!

Great stay

This is our second time staying here. The place is lovely and clean, and so convenient to Mt Gambier and Port MacDonnell. The large kitchen and butlers pantry is well stocked and the extra extra large dining table amazing for nights when you want to eat at home with friends. Beautiful views out to the ocean and even during the colder months provides an amazing view to the changing weather. We will definitely stay here again.

Lovely house in nice quiet location

The house is very well equipped (though paper towel would be a good addition) and was spotlessly clean for our arrival. We had two families staying at the home and there was plenty of room for all. Being just steps from the beach was great so we could avoid carting loads of beach gear in and out of cars. Beds were very comfortable.

School Holiday Get Away

This place is exactly as described and then some. It’s spacious and accommodating. It has everything you need. The hosts touched base to make sure everything was ok. I don’t think it’s possible to get any closer to the beach. We plan on coming back!

Clean, spacious, luxurious and peaceful

With two families including 6 children ranging from 9-17 years, this property met our needs perfectly. It provided plenty of room inside and out, modern facilities and wonderful heating. The kids were delighted that the property backs on to the beach and the adults loved that it was clean and cozy. The only small issues we had were rectified by the easy to contact host who was friendly and eager to please. Would definitely recommend this property for a lovely getaway.

A beautiful view of the southern ocean!

Booking and all correspondence was a pleasure. The house is beautiful and well appointed with everything you need and more! The house was a comfortable place to stay. The beach view is lovely and hearing the waves for the weekend was relaxing. A very quick walk to the beach and the kids had a ball. We would love to be back again for a longer stay. Thank you for the lovely house, all the extras to make our stay fantastic and being so quick and easy to correspond with. We would recommend On The Beach to anyone!

Well-equipped but windy.

This house is beautiful and has all the modern amenities you need for a stay. Heaps of room for our two families with young kids to play outside kicking footies and throwing frisbies. Nothing to do with the owner or property, but you need to time your trip right around the weather. Being on the coast it was incredibly windy and we were forced inside for the majority of the stay and this was in summer.

Beach meets farm

What a stunning spot! You look out the back windows and you have the stunning beach of Port MacDonnell, you look out the front windows and you have gorgeous farm cows. So much room for kids to run, ride their bikes and kick the football. The house is gorgeous with everything that you could possibly need. Thank you Kerrie & Ian for sharing your property with us.

By the beach excellence

We enjoyed our stay very much. Lovely property with all modcons. Great for family groups with heaps of room and plenty of outside space and a lovely beach to walk/play on. Only for very strong swimmers/surfers. We used the property as a base to explore to Robe/Hamilton/Portland but plenty to see/do around Port McDonnell/Mt.Gambier.
