Clean and cute
We took a girls weekend trip with 5 ladies, and had a great time! The house is very cute! There was just enough space for all of us and everything was clean. I had some questions beforehand and the host was quick to answer, no complaints here and I’d stay here again!
The Forest Gem is a super cute, and well-maintained cabin surrounded by natural forest. It is just minutes from the entrance to Beaver’s Bend State Park and Hochatown.

Precious and modern cottage convenient to everything!
This cabin is so cute, comfortable and very well maintained. The loft area is perfect for kids, teens, and young adults. While the cabin is small, the way it is laid out provided plenty of room for our group of 5. The area is quiet and just a few minutes outside Beavers Bend state park, as well as, the conveniences of Hochatown.

Great little spot.
Our family stayed here over Easter weekend and really enjoyed our time. It is absolutely a tiny house, but perfect for our family of four (two young kids). The only thing I will say is you may want to bring a baby gate as stairs are steep and our 18-mo old was very interested in climbing...ha. Excellent location, great outdoor space (we even did our little Easter egg hunt here), and it was nice and clean. Warning... there was no shampoo/conditioner... be sure to pack that. We would definitely stay here again.

Perfect combo: Peaceful, clean, tastefully decorated tiny house
Even though there were other cabins nearby, it still felt like we had privacy in a serene, wooded setting with the conveniences of local restaurants and interesting attractions not far away...the most well known, of course, was the state park just up the road. We enjoyed gourmet pizza, tasty seafood and scrumptious corn dogs. The house itself felt like it was freshly painted with the extra touches of crown molding that made it feel cozy but almost rustic chic. The beds were very comfy and and space for all. Thank you for a terrific getaway!
My book club wanted a peaceful place to read together for a few days and this location was perfect. The beds were comfortable, the cabin was clean, and the air conditioning worked very well.
The WiFi wasn’t great (it would work one minute the cut out the next) but luckily we were able to use our hotspots. So the only warning I have is that if you absolutely need internet this may not be for you.

beavers bend weekend
We could never get the TV to work, even after calling for help more than once. For us that was a deal breaker. There were no instructions for the TV.
The property was smaller than we expected. There needs to be some type of window shade over the sink that could be closed during the evening and night.
The property was very clean. There were plenty of linens, paper products and dishes.
The property is pretty dated, the linoleum was curling up in the bathroom. The bed was a little to soft for our liking.
The location is good, but it is not a place where we would return. Just as in my star rating, it was okay but not a repeater.

Eclipse adventure
The Tiny House was "cute" for 4 women to enjoy. Was not really aware that a person was unable to stand up in the loft, we had to crawl to beds, a little hard for grown women. The dining set chair was broken, so we did not use the dining room set for fear there might be something else wrong with it, and one of the outdoor lawn chairs was broken.
A curtain rod with drape was laying on bed when we arrived and not installed in window. Called Chelsea, the guest contact about the drapery rod, had to leave message, but never received a response. We finally reassembled it and installed it ourselves.
Overall, we enjoyed our stay at the Forest Gem, just would have liked better communication with the guest contact.
All of the above was noted in an e-mail to Chelsea after our stay.

Sheets not changed. Multiple issues
When we arrived, there was a fire alarm beeping nonstop and a pull out section of the sofa out that wouldn't move. I sent a message and the property manager responded pretty quickly to let me know her husband would be out to fix it. He came out with another man and they told me the housekeeper had let them know earlier that day she couldn't get the sofa closed and they hadn't gotten around to checking it out. They were really nice. It took both men to get it back in because a bar was undone under the sofa. I thanked them and let them know there was no way I could have done it as I have two ruptured discs. They agreed and they just took the fire alarm that was beeping as it needed new batteries. I didn't think I needed anything else. Unfortunately, when I went to bed, I found the sheets were gross and had not been changed. There was hair and crusty spots. I could not find any other sheets. I tried texting again, but got no answer. I contacted VRBO and sent photos of the sheets. The VRBO rep was very nice and agreed i could not sleep on that. She reached out herself and finally got an answer after 1am that the sheets were in the storage compartment of the sofa - that took two men to put back under the sofa! I could not pull that out. The manager came by the next day and changed the sheets, but it was a pretty terrible experience. No rest the first night. Not even a partial refund given by VRBO or property.

Hi Tiffiny, we want every guest to feel completely at ease during their stay, so we appreciate you bringing these concerns to our attention. After following up with the homeowner, here’s what they’d like to share:- We're very sorry about the sofa bed issue, but we were happy to have resolved the issue quickly for you.- We've replaced the battery in the smoke detector and we'll be sure to maintain the replacement of batteries on a schedule.- Spare sheets were available on the side of the sofa, but we understand that wasn’t communicated as clearly as it could’ve been.Additionally, sheets are thoroughly washed after every guest, and the team will be reinforcing inspections to ensure they’re always guest-ready.We appreciate your feedback so we can continue to improve and help this homeowner provide guests with the 5-star service they are known for.
This place has a good location close to the fishing dam and Beavers Bend park. It also has a great price compared to other cabins in town. Everything was very clean and beds very comfortable. You are pretty close to two other properties but they have created a great outdoor space. Everything we needed was included for cooking. I would recommend and go back. We had 6 people staying and it was full but not impossible. Great for a weekend. The parking is long and skinny on one side of the house. It was plenty of room for our two vehicles and trailers. No good places to ride ATV from the house but close. You will want drivers that are good at backing up to get into the smaller space.
We had a great time at the cabin and in Hochatown. Went kayaking and hiking during the day and sat out by the fire pit making s’mores. Thank you for sharing your cute cabin!!
