Stay Right In Arthur : The Heart Of Illinois Amish Country!

Looking for a place to stay in Arthur? This Cape Cod built in 1951 features 4 bedrooms and can sleep up to 10 with the additional Queen size sofa bed. Our family friendly home offers a a full kitchen, beautiful wood floors, Wireless Internet, TV, DVD player, two car garage and patio. Plus enjoy our basement rec room with a
(TEMPORARILY OUT OF SERVICE pool table ), ping pong table and huge blackboard for the young and the young at heart. We are within walking distance of Downtown Arthur and the local park and only one block from the Moultrie-Douglas County Fair, Arthur Community Pool, the Freedom Celebration Fireworks and Pauly's BBQ.

Our house is just minutes from The Great Pumpkin Patch, Yoder's Country Kitchen and other restaurants plus area Amish shops. Arthur is less than twenty miles away from Arcola, Tanger Outlet Mall in Tuscola, Lake Shelbyville and The Little Theatre on The Square in Sullivan.

We want you to be aware that we have 4 exterior security cameras: One camera faces the front door, one faces the garage entrance, one faces the back of the house and there is one inside the garage. We do not have any interior security cameras.

Load the dishwasher
Gather used towels
Remove personal items, remove leftover food and drinks and take out the rubbish
Turn off the lights, lock the doors and return the keys
Please make sure the bathroom fan is turned off. All doors and windows are locked. Bag and seal all garbage and place in the orange tote.
Put wet bath towels over the racks provided or on the shower rod and in the bath tub.
Do not put plastic or wooden items in the dishwasher. Do not start the dishwasher and handwash all other items. Please run the disposal one last time before you leave.
Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.
Children under two exempted from maximum allowable guests.
No additional guests without the written consent of the owners.
Excessive garbage will incur a minimum removal charge of $50. If a dumpster has to be hired, that amount will be taken out of your damage deposit.

This place worked very well for our weekend. The host was very responsive and accommodating when the snow storm came through. Gave us extra time because of the circumstances. House was warm even at 1 degree outside. Would recommend

Amazing house in a beautiful location

This house is perfect for a large family or for a couple of us hosting a family dinner. The hosts are very communicative and friendly and helpful and I will definitely be staying here again!

This house is perfect! It is immaculate and easy to cook, relax and have fun in! Tanya is very nice and friendly and even helped us unload our vehicle! We have been here twice and plan to come again!

A clean and comfortable home close to downtown shops. So perfect for my family

We used the Walker Family Inn to accommodate our family members who were in town to celebrate our daughter’s wedding. We received the keys timely and were thrilled with the comfortable size of the home. Even better was the location—close proximity to the shops in town and those in the surrounding countryside. My family was so pleased and already planning for another stay in the future.

Excellent place for family gathering

My family get together on Labor Day weekend was accommodated wonderfully by staying at the Walker Family Inn. Kitchen dining area space was excellent for the family to gather for breakfast every morning. Love the labeling of drawers for utensils too. Patio and basement were excellent for spillover, games and gathering to chat. Lots of space and nice touches in the bedroom areas as well.

Returning Home

Came for a large extended family reunion just outside of Arthur. I found the Walker Family Inn and it was a perfect location and size for our families. Beautiful wood floors and cabinets, and nice touches of some antique furniture pieces. Melodi and Tanya were great hosts. Tanya went through the house with us, and both checked in via texts regularly. Highly recommended.

My family and I stayed here June 2018. It was wonderful! Tanya and Melodi went out of their way to make sure that we were settled and had everything we needed! The house is FULLY furnished--if you need something, odds are they will have it! The entire house was spotless, and very comfortable. It truly felt like we were home away from home! My 3 children had a blast in the basement! I highly recommend the Walker Family Inn without any reservation!

A wonderful location, in the heart of Amish country.

The house was clean and comfortable. It was quite quaint and very much a home with a lot of personal effects. The games room was excellent with ping pong, pool, darts and table football (foosball) which the kids loved, along with the wifi! The real star of the house is its location, a short walk to the town centre, Amish shops and restaurants. We loved Yoder's, a large Amish restaurant which was a great place to meet people. The whole town was very friendly. Tanya was extremely helpful and very responsive to any queries and met us when we arrived. Overall we had a lovely stay for 2 nights and really enjoyed the house and location.

Perfect for us!

This was our third time staying in this house and it's just perfect! We host dinner for 30 two nights in a row for a high school track team and this is a great place for that! First of all the house is spotless! Second, Tanya is very friendly, accommodating and helpful. She helped my daughter and I unload a car full of pots and pans and groceries in very hot temperatures and did so with a smile on her face! Third, the basement has a pool table, ping pong and foos ball and the boys loved hanging out after dinner. We hope Tanya will continue to let us stay for years to come!

Delightful!

This home is a delightful place to stay. I host a group of 25 high school students for dinner two nights in a row and they love hanging out here. There is a pool table, ping pong table, etc in the basement and plenty of room outside for some of them to hang out and eat and relax. The house it spotless, comfortable and spacious. The owners are very communicative and helpful. I have stayed here four times and plan on continuing our tradition.

Perfect place to stay for GIRLS TRIP

It was absolutely perfect. First off, let me say that I use VRBO quite frequently; I have never had better communication than what took place with these owners. We are 6 mature adult women who came to attend the Broom Festival and just have a weekend away. The house was just right for us. Everyone had their own bed, no need to double up. We made the bath and a half work well by rotating shower schedules. Living room cozy for all of us to sit around to chat, read or watch TV. Back yard is nice with a fire pit and plenty of chairs to sit around. It was delightful in the evening. This house had everything we needed it. Highly recommend this home for your GIRLS TRIPS or FAMILYS.

You can walk or bike ride within minutes to the fair, fireworks, restaurants, schools, parks and downtown. You can also relax on the back patio or play pool or ping pong in our basement rec room.

Built in 1951, we have called this "home" since 1968. It still retains it's beautiful woodwork, mid-century modern styling, arched doorways and many unique built-ins. Even though we don't currently live in Arthur, we come back many times throughout the year to visit friends, family and enjoy the festivals. It is and always will be "home"!
