Totally renovated cottage offers extremely clean, modern and open concept living. Two bedrooms plus spacious screened in porch sleeps 6 comfortably (queen bed, double bed, twin bunk beds, pull out futon). The cottage has everything you need for an awesome family vacation: fridge, stove, bbq, WIFI, satellite TV, DVD, large upper deck, lower platform waterfront seating, 16-foot dock, ladder to clear sandy walkout swimming, no weeds, great fishing off dock, plenty of room to park boat, ample parking and room for kids to play. A playground, park, ball diamonds, walking trail and beach is just a walk down the street.

Paradise so close to home!

Fabulous! Our second time visiting...and we are already looking forward to our next visit. The open space from the deck, out over the water, is so relaxing and good for the soul. We definitely will come again.

Lovely vacation!

We had a wonderful, relaxing vacation here! The kids swam every day and loved kayaking. Sitting on the deck with a coffee watching the sunset over the water was magical. Thank you for letting us stay in your cottage.

Great Cottage Location

Overall condition of older cottage is very good. Fridge, stove and all other ammenities are good. View of the Ottawa river is spectacular. Steps down to dock not recommended for the elderly or those with mobility issues. Only negative issue is the bed in main bedroom - very uncomfortable. Location of cottage next to town of Arnprior regarding shopping, restaurants etc. is a bonus.

Overall, very good time. Furniture is dated, bed in Master bedroom requires more than a foam topper to prevent my husband and I from rolling towards centre. Windows difficult to open with many dead insects. Otherwise, well appointed and yes, incredible sunrises and sunsets.

. We stayed only one night. We are seniors and could not sleep in the beds and the couch was so old and unconfortable with no chairs in the sitting area ,the bath did not have a shower , only a tub that we could not get in . We spend our vacation with our brother and sister-in-law who we were visiting, my wife and i have health problems with our lungs and the smell of mold was too much for us

Hi Mary, It's unfortunate to hear you did not enjoy your vacation. We do our best to make sure our guests are comfortable and have a great stay. In fact, 90 percent of our guests return year after year! As we always mention, we are just a phone call (and minutes away) for our guests if they have questions or need help, just like how we came down to help you use the internet and television. We would have loved to show you how the bathroom works, as it is a traditional shower/tub. It absolutely does have a working shower we could have easily shown you how to turn on the water and shower. I'm sorry you didn't find the couch to your liking, we wished you had of let us know and we could have pointed out the two large couch wing chairs and additional seating available for use. As for the air quality, we've never had a complaint of mold or have we ever located any. It is however a cottage with no air conditioning, so we always encourage our guests to open the windows and let the breeze off the water cool you down. Thanks for your feedback, as most of our guests return year after year we always value any comments to improve our guest experience.

Fabulous Family Get - Away

We were very pleased with our week long visit at your cottage! It was exactly as described in your advertisement. We enjoyed all that the cottage had to offer, but really felt rejuvenatedby the view of the open water from all the main windows. We felt like we were at the sea! We recommend it highly for a not-fussy, cozy family get away!

Honey moon getaway

We had an amazing stay here for our honey moon. The location is amazing being just minutes from town while being right on the river. The swimming is great - nice sandy bottom and very calm most days. The sunrises and sunsets were my favourite and I was determined not to miss any. Check in and check out was super easy and the hosts very friendly and accommodating. We loved this spot and it made for some great memories and the perfect start to our forever.

Cottage Living and Amenities of Town Nearby

While this was the cottage rental I was expecting based on the reviews, the listing description and the many photos, I appreciated the place even more once there based on its original authentic cottage style amongst its neighbors , and the quietness of the lake even though one might think the lake could get busy with nearby towns and access points. Nope, it was calm , quiet, peaceful and relaxing. The owner replied to any inquiries immediately and friendly, and we appreciated being able to walk to town for ice cream or forgotten grocery need. We hope to be welcome to come back over future years!

All good--no problems. Nice trails across the street. Walking distance to town (aprox 20mins). Water access with kayaks a bit awkward but doable. If you like an older, rustic cottage with a tremendous view of the Ottawa river this is it.

The cottage is exactly like the pictures. Even though, the weather has turned cold , we had sun for the whole week and totally enjoyed our stay, just relax and spend time with family.

Spectacular views!

We stayed at this quaint and cozy cottage for 6 days....the views of the river were absolutely spectacular with sunsets that captivated us every night! The cottage is very cute and comfortable and had everything we needed for our stay! Hopefully we’ll be able to come back and stay some time in the future!

ESCAPE THE NOISE

Imagine the only sounds you hear are lapping waves against the shoreline and the calls of Canada Geese and Loons. Imagine further a night sky that sparkles with millions of lights and the quiet is all you hear. That is Quaint and Cozy. Our hosts, Catherine and James, were always quickly available to answer our needs. Thankfully, we only needed to call twice for assistance. The cottage is older and a little rustic but picturesque and definitely cozy comfortable. There is no heat source in the cottage and James was quick to provide an electric space heater to take off the chill on some very cold nights. All appliances are modern and efficient. At Quaint and Cozy you look across the water to an almost deserted Quebec shoreline. You don't even see the next door neighbours' quite large and beautiful homes. They make no noise so you wonder if you are alone and have found solitude. We highly recommend this cottage for your peaceful get-away-from-it-all. Thank you Catherine and James.

Great holiday!

Our family had an amazing vacation at this cottage! Super relaxing week spent swimming in the Ottawa river. The sunsets are gorgeous and the cottage itself is well equipped and everything a cottage should be. Highly recommend this spot!

fantastic vacation

I love this cottage on the ottawa river!! Its beautiful views! I watched every sunrise and every sunset! The cottage has two decks for enjoying the views and visiting family! It comes with kayaks for enjoying the water and has a large back yard for our dog and inside the cottage is very comfortable and it was a great vacation!!

Perfect cozy family getaway!!

Everything from check in to check out went perfectly. The sunsets are literally indescribable and perfect every night! The dock is perfect for swimming fishing and kayaking! The cottage provides everything needed for a relaxing vacation. All stores and restaurants are close so no need to over pack. Thanks for the memories, we’ll be sure to book again for next summer!
