Great location, quiet, private and well furnished

I just completed a two month stay and am sorry that it was time to go. Michael & Keiko are wonderful hosts; the property is spacious and beautiful, inside and out. You need a car but the reward for that is country living just around the corner from the vibrant downtown of Walnut Creek.

Homey!

The place was very comfortable and you feel right at home the minute you step in. The house was very clean, and equipped with everything we needed during our stay. We enjoyed our quiet serene mornings and cozy nights. Mike was very accommodating, not that we needed much, and was responsive. Would def stay there again.

Beautiful, tranquil home away from home

We loved our 2.5 week stay in this beautiful home while we remodeled our own place. Lovely quiet location, gorgeous views, walkable to Mt Diablo trails, ample space for both my hubby and I to work remotely (my fave was out on the deck w/ views of trees, flowers, birds, and rolling hills), great kitchen, comfy bed and couch, wifi, tv, and a short drive to cute downtown w great cafes and restaurants. Michael and Keiko were gracious, responsive and accommodating hosts!

Easy Comfort

Cannot say enough about this property. Very nicely furnished and well equipped if you like to cook. (To bake bring your pans) The two full baths are supplied with several soft towels. Can accommodate four people comfortably. Out on the deck you can listen to the birds and watch them at the bird feeder. Not difficult to get to downtown where there are restaurants for every taste. A good location to get to SF, Oakland, Napa and beyond. Very quiet and peaceful. We spent a month visiting our children and friends and we were able to have them for meals around the table that fits six easily. Michael and Keiko are by far the most pleasant and considerate hosts we have experienced in all of our VRBO and B&B escapades.

Great alternative to Extended Stay hotels

This is a wonderful relaxing cottage tucked away near trailheads and open space. We stayed for a month and felt comfortable and relaxed. All the amenities you need and the host, Michael, is very responsive and communicative.

Home away from home!!! This place is so beautiful that my kids were so sad to leave.

This was the best experience ever, with the most amazing host!! The house is in a beautiful location and everything about the house was perfect!!! Will definitely stay there again next summer.

Restful stay

This property is secluded, surrounded by trees and flowers, with mountain and hill views, quiet, peaceful, roomy, well appointed...just the perfect place for rest and relaxation. I thoroughly enjoyed my 5 night stay and couldn't have asked for a better place while visiting family and friends in the Bay Area. Thank you to the owners, Michael and Keiko. Cottage on a Hill

This quiet, spotless 2 bedroom 2 bath cottage is situated on a lovely estate overlooking a state park with lovely hiking trails. The back deck is spacious and we enjoyed using the new Weber grill. Our hosts were responsive to our requests and made sure we had everything we needed. We look forward to the opportunity to return to this beautiful setting!

Best VRBO ever

My husband and I stayed at Michael and Keiko's cottage while we were looking for a new home. It was amazing! Michael and Keiko were wonderful hosts and responded promptly to any need or request we had. They were very knowledgeable about the area and shared their insights and recommendations with us. The house was in excellent condition, light filled, it had comfortable beds, a lovely shower and was well stocked. The deck had stunning views of the mountains and of beautiful sunsets. The location was delightful. Easy access to shopping, the freeway, hiking trails and other leisure activities. I would highly recommend this house and our hosts to all. I would definitely stay here again if the need arises.

Awesome time in Walnut Creek, CA!

We found and stayed in Walnut Creek, PA while visiting our son and his girlfriend who live in San Ramon. The house was beautiful and we found much to do including a great day in San Francisco with lunch in Chinatown, a visit to the Petrified Forest, Wine Tasting in Sonoma, Baker Beach and Golden Gate Lookout. The owners were on site and easily reachable with any questions. We had an absolutely wonderful time and the beautiful neighborhood of Walnut Creek and our stay will be part of our cherished memories always. We highly recommend this VRBO. Thanks, Keiko and Michael!!!!

Private, Spacious, and Beautiful

Short and sweet: The property had SOME minor cleanliness issues (some hair in bathroom and bed, “clean stains” on some towels/bath mats). The location was great on property and around the area. Privacy was well established and respected. This place will not disappoint in any way! Would definitely stay again and recommend!

Wonderful location!!

Finding a lovely and peaceful rental while between homes seemed like an impossible task during a pandemic and the holidays. Much to our delight, we stumbled upon the Brodia Way guest house and we could not have been more relieved and happy at the easiness, cleanliness, prompt communication and flexibility by our hosts. We loved the tranquility of the location, the proximity of trails to explore and deck to watch sunsets from. When we found ourselves in a pickle waiting for escrow to close, our wonderful hosts graciously offered to extend our stay which took away a significant amount of stress, especially during Thanksgiving! We would highly recommend staying here as it really became, and is, a mini vacation.

serenity and tranquility ten minutes from downtown and Bart

We were on an intense house-hunting search during our month stay at Brodia. The house is just minutes to downtown Walnut Creek (great takeout!) and Bart. Perfect! But coming home to Brodia after a stressful day meant enjoying from the deck brilliant bougainvillea, serenading songbirds, and lovely sunsets. My husband spent hours on the deck every afternoon with binoculars scanning the ridges for deer, hawks, wild turkeys and other wildlife. We installed two star-gazing apps on our phones because the night sky viewing was so great because of the low ambient light. Perfect rest and relaxation during a stressful time!

Perfect house

My husband and i stayed for about 3 weeks in this house and loved everything about it. Very private, beautifully decorated, lovely deck and view, newer construction. The king size bed was really comfortable. We appreciated the office/desk area and the washer and dryer. Beautiful, quiet neighborhood of high end homes with walking/biking trails easily accessible from the house. We saw wild turkeys, deer, quail, and even a bobcat! Highly recommend.

Beautiful Home in Beautiful Location

This is a lovely home in Walnut Creek. My partner and I had an excellent stay, where we worked and explored the outdoors nearby. The home is clean, beautiful, and near miles of beautiful hiking trails. A real gem of a home. Michael and Keiko are wonderful, and we had a wonderful stay.

Best VRBO house that we have experienced!

The Brodia Garden house was everything and more that we expected! During these crazy Covid 19 times, it was refreshing to get outdoors and hike the plethora of trails near the rental. Everything was just as the photos in the listing shows. The owners were fantastic and responded very quickly!! We loved sitting on the back deck and watching the sunset! We will definitely stay here again if it’s available!

Great accommodation at a great price

We enjoyed staying at Michael's place. It is in a great location, only 10 minutes away from downtown Walnut Creek. The guesthouse is spacious and homey. Michael and Keiko are friendly and helpful. Compared to the high hotel prices in the area, it is good value for the money.

Executive Living In Walnut Creek

First and foremost the property is located in an outstanding part of Walnut Creek with beautiful views and privacy. The owners meticulously maintain the property and if you have a chance to meet them they are wonderful people. My 3 week work assignment in the region was terrific due in part to my accommodations. As an executive with a private equity firm I highly recommend this property.

Neues. komfortables kleines Haus mit grosser Terasse und schönem Ausblick. Besitzer wohnt 50 m entfernt und wenn man will ist man 100%ig privat. Schöne Spazierwege, gute Ausstattung, nette Vermieter. Haus ist für Homeoffice geeignet, Wir waren 1 Monat dort, meine Frau musste täglich nach SFO, völlig unproblematisch mit der 10 Minuten entfernten Barth Verbindung (S Bahn), dauert 30 Min. ins Zentrum, mit Auto 1 Std. Würden wir jederzeit wieder buchen.

You Will Love This Place, And Your Hosts!

Michael and Keiko have done a wonderful job of remodeling their ranch house into a guest house and transforming the grounds into a park. They call it the Brodia Green House, but Shangri-La, Oasis, Eden, would be apt nicknames as well. The location is ideal; just far enough away from the city to feel like country, but literally a ten or fifteen minute drive to a wide array of city amenities. The transformation occurred recently, so everything was fresh, new, and clean, with comfortable beds and furniture. A complete and good-sized kitchen with new appliances made meal prep easy as pie, and for those times when we just wanted to be couch taters, the 60” flat screen TV was much appreciated. But more appreciated than anything else about our stay was getting to know Michael and Keiko, who, as well as being gracious hosts, treated us more like friends than tenants.

We moved to this house eight years ago, after searching for a long time for a quiet spacious place that was still close to our favorite spots in Walnut Creek, and accessible to our work in San Francisco. When we were almost ready to give up and move to Lake Tahoe, we found this surprise property that had the nature and privacy we wanted, and were able to stay in the Bay Area. We're very happy here! We're both frequent travelers, and have sampled a number of VRBO properties around the world – and we aim to make ours the absolute best. Mike is a writer with a home office and appreciates the serenity and inspiration the place offers. Keiko is an artist and a gardener, and loves having this expansive space for growing succulents and other native plants and fruit trees.

The Brodia Garden House – our name for the second residence on the property – is a unique setting, with spacious rooms and gorgeous views.

We feel this place is a great alternative to those extended stay hotels that we have used countless times in our own travels.

This place is perfect for a couple or two traveling companions or a small family (up to 4 people) who need a temporary place while relocating or visiting friends and relatives.
