Chalet Pepé is a stunning chalet in the beautiful mountain village of Champagny L'Haut. There is a regular ski navette bus that stops every 30 mins during peak times, just 200m from the chalet. It takes about 10 mins, slightly less by car and drops you at the foot of the main gondola in Champagny en Vanoise linked to La Plagne and part of Paradiski. At 1500m, you have sledging and tobogganing outside your chalet for most of the winter and you can join the cross country trails from your doorstep. * A free navette bus runs from near your chalet to the main Champagny cable car every 30 mins during the ski season. It is 5km or 8-10 min drive.
*If you don't want to cook, there is a web site that pairs you up with locally based chefs, although a lot of these won’t add themselves to the site until nearer the ski season: www.lechaletchef.com
*You can alos arrange morning bread and croissant deliveries from the local bakery. There are also two good supermarkets in the village to buy supplies – or a huge hypermarché 25 mins down the road in Moutiers.
Chalet Pépé is a beautifully converted, traditional Savoyarde farmhouse, with its own private swimming pool, steam room and sunken outdoor hot tub. Set in the heart of the spectacular ancient village of Champagny L'Haut, it has picturesque views up the valley and as far as the eyes can see. It is truly magical when you see Bouquetin and Chamois foraging in the snow from the chalet.
The chalet faces south east, with fabulous views from the living areas and the 3 front bedrooms with private balconies. Each of the 7 bedrooms has its own beautiful en-suite shower room or bathroom, all with private wc's. One of the double bedrooms has an internal door connecting it to a bunk room, making an ideal family room. There is also a ninth sleeping area in a small attic room above the second living room. The chalet sleeps a comfy 14 adults but you can fit in a total of 18 if you use the bunk room and attic rooms.
The chalet has been owned by the same local family for several generations and has been sensitively and beautifully renovated, using local materials and traditional building methods.
The cross country piste passes very close to the chalet, so perfect if you like this form of exercise and is just a 5 minute drive from the alpine pistes in Champagny, just down the valley, which links you into the vast ski area of La Plagne and Paradiski.
