We thoroughly enjoyed our long weekend with family. We were able to walk to the Mountain with our skis. Tressia and company are always very attentive to facilitate our accommodations.
Great location and very communicative host. The property is in the woods so keep in mind that bugs and critters are around and you may have some 6-8 legged friends sneak in.
All our kids fit in the loft with ther sleeping bags (9) 😆; Leaving the walkout basement to the dads. Easy skate up the road to the ski hill. Fire places on both floors work great!
Unit was clean and in a great location for skiing. Very retro feel as if you are stepping back into the 70's but we enjoyed it. Beautiful view off the deck. Kitchen pots and pans are Teflon and all scratched up so they could use replacements and could use new bath towels.
Convenience and ease of checking in was wonderful. Host is very responsive. The space and layout was ideal for our group of 8. access to Shuss was good and the view was fantastic! Thank you
Very comfortable stay. Needs a deep cleaning. Lots of spider webs Took garage to end of driveway but no room as the bins were full. Could not find spare key just the one in lock box and informed property manager who responded to concerns of garbage but not key issue. Heat register on floor by single door wall became so hot 2 family members burned themselves Kitchen well equipped bathrooms very clean. Ski in and ski out was really a 2-3 block hike but easier then hauling ski equipment by car. Will definitely return
Despite being outdated, this home was very cozy and had a beautiful view! The place was in a great location not too far from Bellaire and perfect for our friends getaway weekend. The concerns we had are as follows: one of the rooms smelled like dog, a window was left open so it got really cold one night and we didn’t know why, the fridge had sticky spills from who knows how long, and we found old moldy food in the oven. It was pretty expensive for the lack of cleanliness. But cozy nonetheless! We probably wouldn’t stay here again but it was a great option for last-minute booking this weekend.
Comfortable home, sized for large group (4 adults, 1 teen, 3 children and 1 infant) with outstanding view. Friendly property management. Came in a couple nights before opening ski, giving time with family at fantastic resort sledding hill. Overall great experience.
We had a wonderful time on Shuss Mountain. The area has so much to offer in the summertime! We played a couple rounds of golf at Shanty Creek. Then we rented a boat on torch lake and had an awesome day on the sand bar. The house was perfect for our group. One thing to note, the grill was not working our first night, however the host replaced it with a brand new top-of-the-line weber the following morning! No complaints at all, great place to stay!
11 guys on a golf weekend. The view, close to golf & working with the rental company worked out perfect. You made me look really good to the other guys.
The location is great and the views are nice from the deck. They place is very dated.
The good: the location and views from the deck.
—the property manager provided good communication
—the size of the deck was great
The bad:
—very dated throughout the entire place
—the 2 basement rooms are good for housing kids, but not couples.
—we found a Bobby pin and a wine wrapper inside one of the bed blankets
—the deck railing is very low and the parents were paranoid of the little ones flipping over the side - there was definitely not a building code for this when constructed - it is a good drop off from the deck
-overall value was not great
Our group absolutely loved this hilltop chalet for our 4th ofJuly weekend enjoying the Bellaire area. The place is set up perfectly to host a big family not group like ours. The view is absolutely breathtaking from the big deck and fire pit. The firewood was very appreciated! We definitely made use of the propane grill as well. Despite having no AC, with the cool summer nights in northern Michigan we didn't miss it. Maybe just bring a couple box fans if the heat is a worry.
We had a wonderful stay, the views were incredible and the property was clean. It was a short distance from Shanty Creek Resort, Bellaire, and Torch Lake. I would definitely recommend it!
